A serious question - do you think anyone from MAGA really cares? I can tell you I don't think they care.

1. They aren't Americans.
2. They are a long long way away from the USA.
3. The people suffering are not white. For some that would be a factor.
4. The threat of ISIS becoming powerful enough to touch the USA is a long way away. The thought of something like 911 happening again is a forgotten prospect/thought ... they are more worried about their pets being eaten by imaginary immigrants in Springfield.
5. Bottom line - even though they are fine with giving $40B to Argentina. Potentially starting military operations in other countries without their approval ... the idea that we start again with spending US tax payer dollars on helping the neediest in the world in order to promote peace, stability and improve quaility of life for people who look like most of the "illegal" immigrants in the USA ... not going to happen. Don't you remember the wild lies that most of the USAID monies were used to bribe or fund terrorism etc? Condoms for Hamas etc.

This apathy to all things non-American is why they allowed genocide in Gaza and have been happy for this admistration to parrot Putin's talking points on Ukraine.

I don't think any of them care. But at least when it all blows up they can't say they weren't warned. Even though we both know they'll just blame the democrats for it some way.

Is it ISIS? Or are they "oil" company false flag operations? The big companies going ahead with their plans is somewhat suspicious to me. Withdrawal of aid could simply be a Trump "negotiating tactic" on their behalf. Much easier to acquire land where the original inhabitants have fled. I wonder how much local opposition there was to the foreign corporations moving in.

I'm torn on the subject of foreign aid. There is a fine line between helping people and creating dependency. It feels like a lot of aid programs trend towards the latter. Constantly giving people more stuff doesn't really lead to self sufficiency. Unfortunately, it can lead to more people with their hands out, who are slowly conditioned to be incapable of providing for themselves.

I'm not saying we shouldn't help. I just don't think the ways "we" help are very well thought out. Or they are very well thought out, but really have ulterior motives.

All USAID payments undergo a vetting process before being disbursed. This is part of the agency's and the U.S. government's broader efforts to ensure accountability and prevent the misuse of funds.

Is it apathy? Or is it literally outside of their control? Many people spend a majority of their time worrying about their own problems, of which many people have plenty.

Then there are people that apparently have nothing better to do than act like not taking on other people's problems is some sort of gross injustice.

If you can lend a hand, great. Do that. Complaining about other people not lending a hand in every far flung conflict is stroking your own ego.

It seems, to me, like you're trying to shift some guilt that you are feeling and projecting onto other people.

You feel bad about the awful stuff that goes on around the world. Most people do. Blaming a certain group which has no control over those things is odd to me.

Unless the world has totally changed calling for a reasonable sense of humanity and compassion is neither stroking anyone's ego nor it blaming anyone. Neither is it a sense of guilt. This administration has purposefully and is purposefully turning which was once our nations humanity onto inhumanity and you are acting as if that's not what has happened here. Since when did asking not to go backwards in our nation's compassion become some nefarious thing to you?

ISIS stepping in where aid has disappeared is the very essence of the thread. By trying to deflect to some hair brain conspiracy that it may not be ISIS at all pretty much addressed none of it. Focus.

You're funny. I mean down right hilarious. You've tried very hard to make this about me - which it isn't. And me having an opinion on Trump shutting down USAID doesn't make me have issues. Neither does me commenting on the MAGA supporters who won't care about the report Pit posted.

Some of us can walk and chew gum at the same time. Learning how to accomplish that feat I'll leave up to you. In case you've missed it, I seem to be the only one posting on all of those "other issues" too.

I wrote a quick post. It didn't take much effort. I asked some questions based on my experience. I stated some opinions.

Being a human being makes you have issues. (Incorrectly, or not) Assuming that other people don't care is a common human issue.

Speaking of trolling, I suppose I'll go back to not feeding them and avoid this forum. It's all yours.

It's become much more of a common human issue as of late. Now that a president has rubber stamped it. Their words and actions show they don't care. actions speak louder than words. That leaves out assumptions.

Maybe this is the political fodder the oil companies are feeding you. A lot of people say they are currently running a lot of false flag operations.
