The whole organ transplant deal is backwards. People die every day. There should never be a person waiting for an organ.

As it stands now, you have to grant permission by checking a box here or there. To me you should have to check a box saying you don't want to help give life.

Heck, I'd make people who don't want to donate pay more in taxes.

Travis Hunter's rookie season has come to an end. The Jaguars' wideout/defensive back underwent knee surgery on Tuesday morning that has effectively ended his 2025 season. Specifically, Hunter's surgery was to repair his LCL. He is expected to return to football activities within six months, according to ESPN.

The No. 2 overall pick in April's draft, Hunter was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 31 after suffering a non-contact injury during practice. At the time, the Jaguars gave no indication that Hunter's injury was potentially season-ending.

"You just feel bad for the guy, for the kid, for our team, for everything," Jaguars coach Liam Coen said at the time. "But he's in good spirits right now. Minor setback for a major comeback. That's just the way it's gotta be."

The reigning Heisman Trophy and Biletnikoff Award winner, Hunter caught 28 of 45 targets for 298 yards and one touchdown in seven games this season. On defense, Hunter tallied 11 tackles, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery.

Hunter was enjoying an uptick in production just prior to getting hurt as the Jaguars made a concerted effort to get him more involved offensively. He set season-highs with 8 receptions (on 14 targets) for 101 yards and a score in his most recent game, a 35-7 loss to the Rams in Week 7.

Jacksonville will now continue with its task of trying to win games without Hunter. The Jaguars are 5-4 entering Sunday's home game against the 7-3 Chargers.

Colts sign 44-year-old QB Philip Rivers in wake of Daniel Jones' season-ending injury

The Indianapolis Colts' 2025 season is in danger of ending on a sour note, as quarterback Daniel Jones went down with a torn Achilles in Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. With the division and a playoff spot on the line, the 8-5 Colts are bringing back the quarterback that started for them the last time Indianapolis made the postseason. Enter Phillip Rivers.

The Colts are signing the 44-year-old quarterback to their practice squad, CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones reports. Rivers worked out for the team Tuesday, and the team felt comfortable enough to add him to the mix. Rivers became a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame just last month, but a potential induction will have to wait.

Rivers, who is now a grandfather, joins a new-look quarterback room headlined by Riley Leonard and Brett Rypien. Leonard is considered to be the new QB1 with Anthony Richardson still on injured reserve. However, the rookie is dealing with a knee injury, and it's unknown if he will start Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

There are four quarterbacks 44 or older to start an NFL game: Tom Brady, Vinny Testaverde, Warren Moon and Steve DeBerg. Next Sunday, it will have been 1,800 days, or almost five years, since Rivers last took a snap in an NFL game, according to CBS Sports Research.

T.J. Watt was taken to a Pittsburgh area hospital for further evaluation of his lung after experiencing discomfort at the Steelers practice facility on Wednesday, the team announced.

Watt will not practice on Thursday and his status for Pittsburgh's upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins is in question. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin will provide more updates "at the appropriate time."

The 31-year-old Watt is in the middle of his ninth season with the Steelers, who selected him with the 30th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

A seven-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro, Watt won NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2021 after tying the league's single-season record of 22.5 sacks. Watt, who has led the NFL in sacks on three separate occasions, is the Steelers' career leader with 115 sacks. Earlier this season, he surpassed his brother and future Hall of Famer JJ Watt on the NFL's career sack list.

In 13 games this season, Watt has recorded 7.0 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and an interception for the Steelers, who are currently 7-6 and lead the Baltimore Ravens by one game in the AFC North standings.

If Watt can't face Miami, he will be replaced by Nick Herbig, a fellow former Wisconsin Badger who has made nine starts over the past two years. This season, Herbig has recorded a career-high 6.5 sacks to go with three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and an interception.
