Seeing it and acknowledging it are two totally different things. He claims he needs some kind of consensus on something totally unrelated to the topic first.

Ehhh, maybe. We've lived through about 10 years of that now - on all levels. Some is cosigned as just and pure, some is villainized.

I'm pretty sure he lied to congress. It's most strange to me that zero accountability for that seems to be perfectly acceptable these days. If you erase Trump and Trump hatred from the equation, do you think he should be investigated?

I refer to the MAGA fanboys because there are MAGA fanboys that will support and regurgitate Trump lies without thinking for themselves. We've had plenty of examples here - from posting about condoms for Hamas to calling Democrats communists, to calling Democrats unamerican but then crying that calling Trump authoritarian is inciting violence. More recently we've had claims that using force to remove a countries leader and implementing regime change isn't against international law - which clearly it is. Only true MAGA fanboys would regurgitate such clearly obvious lies. Calling them out for what they do/say/are - if you want to disagree you'll have to construct a debate as to why.

Your posts throwing "Nazi" in the mix is not you calling anyone a Nazi - it's you trying to goad and troll one of the extreme Lefties into talking about Nazi's. Normally to try and avoid discussion about one of the many topics where Trump is doing something hard to defend without blinkers on.

I think when this investigation falls on its face much like the Jack Smith one and whoever else he's got DoJ going after, it's gonna look more and more like DoJ is the politicized tool vs the Fed.

Fed (more or less) punches numbers into a calculator and comes out with a result. That result is debated in a group and voted on. This investigation seems like nothing more than a presidential temper tantrum fueled by a lack of awareness of how the Fed operates.

So asking you to show anywhere Powell has displayed his dislike for trump, your assertion, you call that DNA? I think you need to Google what DNA means. It's not my fault you can't back up your accusation. A simple public statement by Powell that is in anger or directly derogatory to trump should be sufficient to back up your accusation but you wish to make the fact you can't substantiate that my fault. That's weak as hell.

Saying something is the way it is because "He hates me/them/whoever" sounds like a high schooler trying to explain a bad report card to their parents ("that teacher hates me").

At the end of the day, interest rates are the way they are because of the economy and inflation... agree to disagree, but I don't see anything nefarious with holding interest rates higher than preferred coming off a period of high inflation.

I had to research because I thought this would be the first time a president has gone toe to toe with the Fed... turns out I was dead wrong. Several presidents have done similar dances with Fed Chairs, and it's always been because the Fed wasn't cooperating with that president's political motivations ("I need the economy doing well for my reelection"). Trump has been harassing Powell for lower interest rates since he first stepped back into the WH, and now (magically) the Fed finds itself on the hit list of Trump's #1 attack dog (DoJ). Personally, that smells worse than what's being alleged against the Fed.

I think you are getting to the meat of it. Disagreeing with the fed chair isn't unprecedented. Calling him names and attacking him verbally in public took it to another level. And now with investigations by using the DOJ as a tool against him has far exceeded anything close to normal and is a very dangerous precedent.
