No worries, Garrett will be asking for a trade by mid season. He's worth at least 2-3 first rounders.

His contract is about as close to untgradable as there is.

I do think Berry will be able to keep the cupboard stocked on the defensive side. He's shown that he can find starters well past the first round and his FA signings are generally good.

What I question is his ability to build the O. There are serious issues with most offensive draft picks (and many FAs) that he's brought in on that side of the ball.

In AB's defense he didn't have those 3 #1 picks. If he did the O might be better right now.

Which brings up another question. If in fact getting watson was something Haslam insisted on, why did AB get a free pass for a terrible roster but Stefanski didn't get a free pass for not winning many games with that same terrible roster? None of that makes any sense.

Which leads me to believe something else was going on behind the scenes. I like KS but I think, IMO, there was a problem on his part with accountability and maybe discipline.

Once again, the results of both, which are the jobs they get paid to do, yielded very similar, poor results. I know we all have "thoughts, feelings and beliefs" about things that may or may not have went on behind the scenes but there is zero evidence to substantiate any of that.

Bottom line. Both had poor results. One was given a free pass and was was sent packing. I understand that people have to search for anything they can grab hold of to make that make sense. Otherwise it would make no sense at all. Which seems to be a pattern we've been witnessing for many years now.

Maybe "the deal" was KS deliver on offense while Berry builds the D (at the time of the Watson trade, our D was abysmal).

From that angle, Berry upheld his part while KS epically failed.

You mean deliver as the OL aged out with no legit #1 WR and no legitimate QB. Unless you think Stefanski "untaught" watson how to play QB?

I do think thatvthe overal lack of all discipline by the offense was largely attributable to Stefanski. Penalties were out of control on an offense that could not afford then at all.

In 2025 the Browns ranked 17th in penalties committed. Middle of the pack. Quite an improvement over 2024 where they ranked 24th.

I am pretty sure the Browns lead the league in pre snap penalties committed. If not, they were leading late in the season. That is a discipline issue and not a talent issue.
