With the cold forcing its way across the country, and with the heavy snow accompanying it, it's important to not only stay out of the severe cold, but to have a plan if the power should go out. Make sure extra coats, blankets, and such are easily available. Keep flashlights close at hand, just in case. I have a propane heater that can be used indoors, as long as the area is open to disperse the fumes. Have a plan so that it's nit a panic at the last minute. Stay safe everyone!
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

I bought a little space heater just in case my HVAC doesn't cut it because it's gotten so cold out. First I went to Walmart, they were pretty much out of them. Then I went on Amazon and got an Amazon Basics space heater for under 20 bucks. My landlord replaced all the windows in my apartment a couple of years ago and now? As it turns out, I don't need the space heater.
Ah, all the excitement of getting old.
Remember when we were kids, we all LOVED the snow. Played in it all day no matter how cold it was. Now at age 60 I hate it. Bad driving conditions, snow & ice covered car, icy sidewalks, etc. I really hate the freezing cold wind, it seems to go right threw me. Chills me to the bone.
Winter.

I love to just sit out in the snow and enjoy the peace and quiet in the AM. No traffic, no noise other than the wind and falling snow. It's peaceful.

The BEST thing you can do down here is stay off the roads. In the Nashville area people drive in the rain the same way people in Ohio drive in the snow. It's as if it's some major weather event to drivers. And any snow, and I do mean any, is some sort of major weather catastrophe. They have no clue how to drive in it.
I don't have any trouble navigating the snow but I'm not willing to try and navigate the snow while playing a full time game of "I'm not playing bumper cars with you".
As far as the cold goes with well over 50 years of living in Ohio I'm always prepared for that.
The real issue here is that overnight the ice set in. Branches are hanging low and the streets are more like an ice rinks than roads. With the temperatures moving in that will give us highs in the teens, I don't look for that to change soon. Being retired I am stocked up and have the option of watching it all unfold on TV. But I feel badly for those who have to deal with it.
Stay safe everyone.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
