I do. I'd be really surprised if he did not.

No matter what anyone thinks of the hire Monken is bringing coaches to us from a well run winning franchise. They’ll expect the players to tow the mark and be accountable.

That includes a viable QB and a relatively talented roster. It's the well run part of your post that describes what the problem has been here.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Assuming we prioritize OL & WR in the draft, and either Shadeur or Watson is behind center, I'd have to think we'll be stretching the field a good deal more to open up the running game. I suspect we'll be a run first team for a while and that might have been a big part of Monken's pitch: not needing to solve the QB position immediately. One thing that excites me about Monken is that he was able to turn Jackson from a running QB in a legit pocket passer with the run option. I really doubted that would be possible when I heard they were going to lean into that but they actually did it.

Report: Browns hire Danny Breyer as pass game coordinator - NBC Sports
https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profo...re-danny-breyer-as-pass-game-coordinator

The Browns are hiring Danny Breyer as their pass game coordinator, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reports.

Breyer spent last season as an offensive assistant for the Ravens, so he is following head coach Todd Monken and offensive coordinator Travis Switzer from Baltimore. Breyer was with the Ravens for three seasons, beginning in 2023 as an offensive quality control coach.

He worked closely with the Ravens’ tight ends room the past two seasons.

Breyer previously worked for the Buccaneers as an analytics assistant (2016) before being promoted to defensive assistant coach (2017-18). He was with the Dolphins’ coaching staff during OTAs in 2015.

Before entering the NFL ranks, he was the assistant to the head coach/assistant director of player personnel at Indiana (2013).

Does anyone else think it's weird that these guys are following Monken rather than Harbaugh? Especially if you believe the report that Harbaugh was fired for NOT firing Monken.

Interesting, Monken was going to follow him I believe if he didn't get the HC job.

Harbaugh may have his own people he wants. Imo if he wanted these coaches, he would have probably reached out to them.

He may have and they said no. Never going to know I guess.

Mokin was offered the HC job here. Those working as O coaches were a part of Monkin's staff.

Once Monkin took the job here they all knew Harbaugh would be hiring a new OC. That new OC would then hire his own new staff and there was no way to know if they would even be offered a job there.

Why would they wait around just hoping they would be offered a job from a new OC they didn't know and had never worked with before?

That's a reasonable take and very-well could be what these coaches were thinking...but where I'm at with this is that the supposed edict to fire Monken appears to not have affected some of his coaches decisions to follow him here. So...Harbaugh wanted to keep him and his coaches wanted to continue working for him. Why then was Harbaugh canned over keeping Monken? Something seems very Browns-ian about this but from a Baltimore perspective.

I think far too often people depend on the rumor mill giving them accurate information. I'm still not sure of the point you're trying to make. They worked on Monkin's staff. Monkin took a job where he was actually elevated to the HC position. My questions to you would be why wouldn't they follow the coach they had been working for all along when they had no way to know if they would even have a job if they didn't take this one? When the man who had the confidence to hire you in Baltimore now shows you he has the belief, loyalty and confidence to hire you at his new job why would you walk away from that?

I know Switzer has not been officially hired, but by all account he is going to be named OC. I have not seen where the Browns fulfilled the Rooney Rule requirement for the OC position. Might be tough to get someone to go through the motions if they've already settled on an OC.

He also moved around a bunch of schools.

Not sure how I feel about this guy.
