"the Browns could target a top-tier wideout in the upcoming draft, either with their first or second selection. One option is Jordyn Tyson, the Arizona State wideout who recently visited the team", per analyst John Sabol.

“#Browns had Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson in for a visit today. He’s the brother of #Cavs guard Jaylon Tyson. Jaylon also stopped by the facility this afternoon. Jordyn is projected to drafted in the 1st Rd,” Sabol wrote.

Tyson is the real deal - if healthy - which has been his issue throughout college. #1 WR in this draft, IMO. I like Tate, just don't think he is a game changer - Tyson is.

Another, agree to disagree. I do agree 100% that Tyson is a great talent that I expect to do wonderful things in the league if he stays healthy, but Carson Tate is that and a lot more, imho. Tate gets a little of a knock because of all the talent around him on the Buckeyes. He still managed to shine as a star on that team despite being across from a generational talent at WR. If Jeremiah Smith were able to come out in this draft, we would still be talking about possibly drafting Carnell Tate at #6. Why? Because Smith would be gone at #2 overall. I do believe Tate has everything to be a day one #1 receiver for every team drafting in the top 10 with the exception of the Giants and Bengals. Nabers and Chase are at the top of the league at their position.

Don't let Tate's 40 time fool you, most of the top receivers ran mid 4.4-4.5. The conspiracy story is, scouts had him at 4.45-4.46 on their watch for both runs.. but regardless, the football speed shows up on film. Everyone has disregarded his time from the combine as negligible.

"Everyone has disregarded his time---REALLY." Old saying, you can't teach SPEED. Tate has been superb in college. Don't know if it is allowed, would love to see him against Denzel Ward. Just saying SPEED matters- JMHO.

I can’t remember who they were, but they actually had a GM and another, either GM or coach on as “guests” during the combine and both reacted the same way. “Yeah, 20+ teams are going to pass on Carnell Tate because of what he just did”. I think it was the Bills GM said “please God, let all these teams pass on him because of this”.

I’m telling you, everyone was laughing at the notion that it mattered at all. I’m sure there is a place you can rewatch that day if the combine.

There are players that are borderliners. They show a little spark on game film, but you don’t know whether they re worth spending that 3rd rounder on them or they are true developmental only guy that unless they drop to the 5th, you will spend your picks elsewhere. Or, you like 2 guys equally from film, what is the differentiators? That is what the combine is for. Carnell Tate didn’t have to participate and he would still be considered a top ten pick. That’s why so many don’t participate these days, why risk pulling a hammy when the film already places you somewhere special on the GMs wish list.

To your second point, Denzel Ward is a premier CB in the NFL. He shuts down all receivers and has been since he entered the league. He shuts down Chase who is arguably the best receiver in the NFL.

How about putting him against Toriano Pride Jr? He’s the fastest CB at the combine. I’d put up money Tate would smoke him in full pads, in a crowd on any given Sunday. If it’s all about speed, that example should be just as good, right?

No doubt speed is important, but it isn't the only measuring stick.

I agree Peen. The best WR's aren't the fastest WR's. They're the best route runners. They're the WR's that win the battles on contested passes. If being a top WR only meant speed, every team in college and the NFL would be teaching track stars how to catch a football.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Point taken, wonder if invitees actual run/ perform during their visits. JMHO, the opposite premise isn't true either.....best route runners get open...baloney....then a real slow guy with "outstanding route run is open"...doesn't happen. Quick speed in short bursts for the slot recievers counts....Anthony Schwartz, was an example of speed only.....I don't want him again, but like intelligence, speed can't be taught.
