Chris Wright said the price of oil will only be up for a few weeks. Said USA is a net exporter and has no shortage.

LOL - that won't hold and oil prices will go up and up. Not only is Iran targeting areas that impact refinery - the number of oil tankers on the water has dropped dramatically. In case you missed it, marine insurance companies have cancelled war time coverage so vessels are no longer able to be insured in some parts of the middle east.

Maybe Trump and Hegseth should have listened to the National Intelligence Council. I see - no influence on the next regime. The world less safe. Traditional allies even further alienated. Economic impact (yay - Dow 1000 points down oil up - soon to hit$100 a barrel).

But look on the bright side ... Hegseth got to talk like he thought he was He-Man. The White House put out a call of duty video about Iran.

What's funny is the fanboys either cheering the war on, or trying to sidetrack and troll any discussion about what the F is going on.

‘We were American hostages in Iran – this war is insane’
Barry Rosen and John Limbert were among 52 people held at the US embassy in Tehran for 444 days.

If anyone should be celebrating Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei being killed, it’s John Limbert and Barry Rosen. They were among 52 American hostages held by the regime in horrendous conditions at the US embassy in Tehran between 1979 and 1981. The experience scarred many of the captives for life.

The two men, now both 82, refuse to glory in Khamenei’s assassination. They remain too diplomatic for that. But Rosen admits: “I was certainly not unhappy concerning his death.”

Limbert, who was visited by Khamenei during the embassy crisis, says with a wry smile: “He’s not my favourite character, I’m not terribly sorry to see him gone.”

When asked about the wisdom of Donald Trump’s war on Iran, however, the diplomacy stops there. The pair, who live in New York and remain friends, both think it is foolish – with little chance of the regime collapsing and a possibility of it becoming even more dangerous.

“The decision to bomb Iran is absolutely insane,” says Rosen, who was a press attaché at the embassy and is a founder of the campaign group Hostage Aid Worldwide.

He hates the regime, and not just for what it put him through. “I deplore what it has done to the Iranian people,” he says. “I don’t know how Iranians live every day… Life is miserable.”

But he says Trump’s encouragement for the population to seize power is “absolutely moronic”, after so many were “murdered by the regime in gruesome ways” during the security crackdown on protests just two months ago.

Rosen doubts the military or the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps will stage a coup against the country’s hardline ruling clerics. “They are living off this regime, they totally control the economy. So why would they? They are going to fight to the bitter end.

“This regime will be able to sustain itself. The deep state is very deep, and it will constantly replace whoever is killed.” Limbert, who continued to serve as a US diplomat until 2007, would love Iran to become a humane democracy.

“We want to see an Iran that treats its own people decently, that doesn’t massacre them in the streets, that doesn’t jail them for asking inconvenient questions, that doesn’t kill its women because they didn’t dress according to some standard,” he says.

Yet he believes the chances of Trump and the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, achieving this through air raids are “pretty damn remote”, agreeing with Rosen that the attacks are a “huge screw-up”.

Now once again we have a president who has killed their leader and many others who may have been in line to lead Iran and claims he has to agree on who their leader is basically installing who he chooses . Some people ignore history. Or in this case may have never bothered to learn history in the first place.

People want to go back to 1979 and claim this was the start of all of this. As if Iran instigated the entire thing. But it's odd how people pick and choose where they start their clocks. They seem to wish to leave out going back two and a half decades when it was us and the United Kingdom orchestrated a coup, known as Operation Ajax (or TP-AJAX), to remove Iran's democratically elected Prime Minister,
Mohammad Mossadegh. The operation restored authoritarian power to Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, protecting Western oil interests and preventing a perceived shift toward the Soviet Union.

Tell you how embarrassing it actually is... Fox News used photos and videos from a different time rather than show Trump in that baseball cap.... And they admitted it after. Honest mistake my butt!

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/fox-news-apologizes-showing-old-231244167.html

Fox News apologized for airing old video of a hatless President Donald Trump during coverage Sunday of his attendance at the dignified transfer ceremony for U.S. soldiers killed in the Middle East war, insisting it was an honest mistake.

In a polarized time, some online critics suggested without evidence that it wasn't an error — that the network was trying to make Trump look better by not showing him wearing a baseball cap during what is considered one of the most solemn duties of a commander in chief. The return of the bodies of six soldiers took place Saturday at Dover Air Force Base.

But Fox News said archival footage of Trump at an earlier ceremony was inadvertently pulled up by a staff member and used on two Sunday morning telecasts. A spokeswoman noted the correct footage was used at other times, including on Saturday.

“We regret the error and apologize for the incorrect footage,” Fox said in a statement.

Fox News anchor Griff Jenkins issued an on-the-air correction Sunday, saying “we extend our respect and condolences” to the families of the service members killed.

The apology didn't sit well with some critics. “If any other network did this it would be a huge scandal, Fox would lead the chorus of criticisms and faux-outrage, and people would lose their jobs,” said Mehdi Hasan, founder of the online site Zeteo.

Johnny “Joey” Jones, a veteran and co-host of “The Big Weekend Show” on Fox News Channel, said on social media that he was “embarrassed and ashamed” that this happened.

“My belief was that this was an honest mistake, but that doesn't make it an acceptable one,” Jones wrote. “Few things are more sacred than our heroes who give their lives in the line of duty.”

Jones said that “if posting snarky comments and insults is your way of reacting to this, please direct them at me. I'm the one with sharp words on these issues. If you are using this as a way to take a partisan jab at my hard working colleagues, check your watch.”

Donald Trump showed up to Saturday’s dignified transfer of the first six U.S. soldiers killed in the war with Iran sporting a white USA hat that he didn’t remove.

There were folks who didn’t like that.

Then the President went golfing on Sunday in the same style of white USA hat while the United States announced the death of a seventh serviceman in the war with Iran.

There were some folks who really didn’t like that.

And among the insults hurled at the President was that the hat was part of a marketing campaign. He was accused, among other things, of just trying to make quick buck. And, while there is no evidence that is the case, that white USA hat does not appear to be military issued.

In fact, anyone can get one because Trump is indeed selling them or at least one that looks a whole heck of a lot like the one he wore for the ceremony. If you want one of the caps, though, it won’t come cheap.

The USA 45-47 hat is currently listed on the Trump Organization’s store for a whopping $55.

And there is currently a note on the listing that reads, “Due to high demand, this hat may take an additional 7-10 days to process then ship.” So, whether the President was, in fact, trying to market the hat or not, it appears that the controversial cap is now highly desired.

This comes as Trump was blistered on social media for wearing it through the dignified transfer.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom offered his take from the “Governor Newsom Press Office” account on X after sharing Rapid Response 47’s video of the service.

“Take your hat off, you disgusting little man,” he wrote.

“This fool has ABSOLUTELY no sense of dignity of appreciation for the moment,” former RNC chairman Michael Steele wrote on X while sharing a photo of Trump with his hat on. “It is called the Dignified Transfer for a reason. Take your (expletive) hat off.”

“Trump just wore a campaign hat to a dignified transfer for fallen U.S. soldiers that were killed during his Iranian blunder,’ Chris D. Jackson wrote on X. “These are the same people who spent week attacking Biden for briefly glancing at his watch. The hypocrisy is absolute. There is no bottom for these people.”

“Disgraceful that Trump is wearing a white baseball hat at the dignified transfer,” Blue Georgia wrote on X.

“The president of the United States has a baseball cap on during a dignified transfer of six American service members who were killed in war with Iran,” another wrote on X. “He couldn’t even be bothered to take his (expletive) hat off. Donald Trump is a deplorable, callous piece of (expletive).”

“Obama not wearing a tie into the Oval Office was a days long scandal,” Scary Lawyerguy wrote on X. “Trump wearing a (expletive) baseball hat while dead US soldiers were taken off a plane at Dover AFB and it’s crickets.”

Trump has yet to respond to the criticism.

Trump downplays importance of Russia reportedly sharing intel with Iran to help it hit US targets

DORAL, Fla. (AP) — President Donald Trump said Saturday that it was inconsequential if Russia has provided Iran with information to help Tehran target U.S. military personnel and assets in the Middle East as the week-old war rages.

The president dismissed the import of such information-sharing after he attended the dignified transfer for six Army reservists who were killed in a drone strike in Kuwait the day after the U.S. and Israel launched a war on Iran that has unsettled the global economy.

Trump stopped short of confirming reports by The Associated Press and other news outlets that U.S. intelligence officials believe Russia has provided Iran with such targeting information. But if Moscow is passing on such details, he said Iran was getting little out of it.

“If you take a look at what’s happened to Iran in the last week, if they’re getting information, it’s not helping them much,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One as he flew to Miami, where he’s spending the rest of the weekend.

The president also waved off a question about how Russia assisting Iran in such a way might affect his view of the U.S.-Russia relationship.

“They’d say we do it against them,” Trump responded. “Wouldn’t they say that we do it against them?”

Ukraine, in the four years since it was invaded by Russia, has received U.S. intelligence to help defend against incoming missiles from Russia as well as to help Kyiv hit certain Russian targets.

Downplaying the significance of Russia handing off battlespace intelligence to Iran came after the U.S. Treasury Department announced earlier this week that it was temporarily allowing India to keep buying crude oil and petroleum products from Russia for a month, until April 4.

The administration decision to grant the world’s most populous country a temporary exemption faced bipartisan blowback. Critics charge that Trump was giving Russia a break that will provide Moscow with badly needed revenue as it looks to keep funding its war machine.

Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., in his own X post directed at Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, also decried the administration’s decision.

“Reverse your decision to lift oil sanctions on Russia. It is traitorous conduct for you to help Russia,” Lieu said. “Meanwhile, Russia is assisting Iran in targeting American troops.”

Trump has decided to give India leeway on oil purchases from Russia as global oil prices surge and investors across sectors worry about how long the Iran war will last.

The waiver for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government followed Trump announcing weeks ago that he was cutting tariffs on India after their officials agreed to reduce its reliance on cheap Russian crude.

India has taken advantage of reduced Russian oil prices as much of the world has sought to isolate Moscow for its February 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

The price of oil has surged higher and shows no signs of halting a week into a war that the U.S. and Israel launched and has widened through the Middle East as Tehran strikes back. Ships that carry roughly 20 million barrels of oil a day are unable to safely pass through the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf that is bordered on its north side by Iran.

The shipping disruption and damage to key Middle East oil and gas facilities has interrupted supplies from some of the world’s largest oil producers.

Asked whether he was willing to take other steps to ease oil prices, Trump said that “if there were some, I would do it, just to take a little of the pressure off.”

He appeared Saturday to wave off, at least for now, the possibility of tapping the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve, saying the U.S. has a “lot of oil.”

The reserve — a supply of oil that the U.S. government can tap in case of emergencies — held more than 415 million barrels as of the end of last month, up from about 395 million barrels at this time in 2025. In total, when full, the SPR can hold more than 700 million barrels.

“We’ve got a lot of oil. Our country has a tremendous amount,” Trump said. “There’s a lot of oil out there. That’ll get healed very quickly.”

Readers Digest version; Russia aids our enemy. Trump refuses to say anything negative about Russia doing this is response and rewards Russia by expanding their ability to sell their oil.

Hey man. That's all kind of petty. I mean I get it. They made a huge issue out of Obama wearing a tan suit at a press conference. And I agree that nobody with an ounce of common sense thinks wearing a baseball style cap to a funeral is in any way good taste or appropriate I understand it was disrespectful to our fallen troops. And a funeral of this type especially. I mean maybe your old, cranky Aunt Betty who you never liked anyway, but even then....

But in the grand scheme of things, with everything going on right now, it's really not that important. And let's be honest here, trump has made the White House look like a strong case for a relaunch of the MTV show Cribs. Not many people associate trump to being classy.

I think the monologue at the ceremony the other day about gold curtains was worse - just my opinion. But in both cases it's sort of a bad taste, narcistic, obnoxious sort of character flaw that is the issue. In the grand scheme of things 'not a big deal' ....

What is a big deal is regime change in 2 countries and counting, choosing to go to war against an 'enemy' where there is no plan for a lasting successful resolution. Economic impact. Impact on reputation and relationship with allies. And ... we're only at the start of this sh*t show ... who knows how it could spiral out of control and escalate.

What is happening is an operation. It is not a war. Most of the objectives from this operation has been achieved up to this point.

Trump Sends Message to Tankers as Oil Prices Spike: ‘Show Some Guts!’

‘Tell these tankers to get themselves, get to it, we have wiped out most of their launchers.’ Here is exactly what he said: ‘These ships should go through the Strait of Hormuz and show some guts, there’s nothing to be afraid of. [The Iranians] have no navy, we sunk all their ships.’

He went on to say: ‘Look, there is risk in the region, the region is volatile, their launchers, there’s just about 150 left, that’s just about 20% of totals, they can’t regenerate, they can’t make any more. We are in the region and need to act quickly on all these type of attacks.’

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/trump-sends-message-tankers-oil-131528848.html

So Captain Bone Spurs is preaching to other people about showing some guts? Aw, how precious.

Let's recap...

Donald Trump repeatedly claimed during his 2024 presidential campaign that electing Kamala Harris would lead the U.S. into a major conflict, including a war with Iran or even World War III.

Trump positioned himself as the "pro-peace" candidate and argued that Harris's "incompetence" in foreign policy and dealing with world leaders would "guarantee" a global war. These claims were often made in general terms about the Middle East or global conflict, sometimes specifically mentioning Iran in campaign ads or by surrogates like Stephen Miller.

Donald Trump frequently promised on the campaign trail and during his presidency, "I'm not going to start wars, I'm going to stop wars". He often highlighted his administration by stating, "I am especially proud to be the first President in decades who has started no new wars".

Do you even know what a lie looks or sounds like?

He is doing exactly what he said Kamala would do and you're busy making excuses for it. I suppose trump decided to do what he said Kamala would do.

He is doing exactly what a President should do and that is defeat enemies both foreign and domestic. The difference between you and I is you oppose everything he does with no thought given. I hated the Presidencies of both Obama and Biden but if they had taken out world leaders that sponsor terrorist organizations and have directly been involved in American loss of life I would have applauded them. They didn't so that never happened. The end results of their Presidency made our nation less safe on the world wide stage. But your king hates this country and flies the flags of every nation but our own so I understand who I am corresponding with.

As per usual you addressed nothing. You didn't address trump's lies. You didn't address he did what he claimed Kamala would do. You supported him when he said he wouldn't start this war. You support him when he does start this war.

Kings rule by decree like executive orders. Don't point the finger at me for what you are doing. It's true that every accusation people such as you make is an admission.

Kings rule by decree like executive orders. Don't point the finger at me for what you are doing. It's true that every accusation people such as you make is an admission.

Trump is doing a fine job as I see it. Illegal immigration is down and illegals are being rounded up and sent back to where they came from. Two of our nation's enemies are now no longer running their country. The USA is a safer place because of it. The stiock market is up so my investments are working for me. Grocery bill is coming down. If he could just lower my taxes, it would be perfect. I would expect that to happen soon.

Where do you grocery shop? Grocery prices increased by 2.1% in 2025.

Once again you refuse to address anything I pointed out to you. You are avoiding it like the plague to bring up everything but that and most of what you posted is simply false.

Many people that are here legally are being rounded up too. Some of them even Americans. But you know how it works. They're brown so it doesn't matter. Am I right?

Try to focus and stay on topic for a change. I know in this case that isn't convenient for you.

Those stories are false. They are not rounding up legal citizens. False claims. Getting illegals out of the country is what is happening. Removing threats to our country in Venezuela and Iran is what is happening outside the country. Opposing those things are all false narrative. Liberals like Bill Maher is pointing out that opposing Trump just because he is Trump is wrong for our Country.

You're trying to have a rational conversation with someone that tried to suggest that the ayatollah was a socialist. Who said this isn't a war?.. . . . Who has failed to address any point you have raised.

Good luck

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

He acts as a socialist. A dictatorship is closer aligned to socialism than it does a free society where the people have a voice. He does not allow his citizens a voice. Iran sure is not a democracy or a Capitalist society.

Yet you can never actually debate the topics I post. Funny how that works.

You excuse every lie he tells, every name he calls people and that he rules by decree like a king.

He did do something right this week. He offered asylum to the Iranian women's soccer team if Australia doesn't.

Even though Iran is among 19+ countries subject to a full suspension of immigrant and non-immigrant visas.

You gotta love how he says one thing and does the other so much of the time. But despite all of that, offering them asylum is the right thing to do.

Everything I've posted in this thread is related to the topic of Iran. From policy, to comments trump made in the past and currently in regards to Iran to the dead troops coming home from Iran.

Other than replying to you about everything you can think of that isn't about Iran like grocery prices, immigration, the stock market and taxes.

Your BS to the contrary shows who you are. Just lying like your Supreme Leader does.
