My mom has been in the hospital since Saturday evening. She just suddenly got very weak, and couldn't stand, even with my help. She isn't eating, and is getting weaker and weaker. I am afraid that she may not be able to return to her home, even though she has talked about getting some help "when she gets home". I do not thing that is going to be possible unless she has a miraculous recovery.

I have been prepared for a day like this for a while now. Mom is 93, and has been slowing down for years now. I ask for prayers for her, for recovery, if the Lord wills, or for a peaceful passing is not. Prepared or not, this is really wrecking me.

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your mother.

Thank you.

I would have to call what I saw today ... a miracle.

On Sunday, my mom was almost dazed .... and so weak that she could barely use her arms, and could not even stand up. I truly thought that she was gone. She was diagnosed with an infection, and they gave her an IV antibiotic. I figured that she had been so weakened that she had no chance.

I walk into the hospital room today, and she was sitting up in bed, working a crossword, and was told that she had done physical therapy, and washed her hair. Other than the fact that her legs were still weaker than normal, she was back to being herself. She was alert and was even able to move herself in the bed instead of calling for help. Just amazing.

She is going to a nursing facility for continuing physical therapy. We selected a place where my lifelong best friend went when he had a compound break in his leg. They got him back on his feet, and walking well. They also had his mother in there about a year before her passing, and they got her up and about, as well. They seem to be a good place.

Things are definitely looking up after a couple of days that looked seriously bleak.
