Forget the draft order. Forget position of need.

If you could draft one player who would draft?

I have no reason to dislike Mendoza but I am not sold on him.

Styles and Love are freaks. I can understand picking either guy.

Yet LB's and RB's are positions that long term can be questionable in value.

Tate does not jump off the page but I like him. He catches the ball. He runs good routes. He is coming from a system that has put great WRs into the NFL and faced top opposition. He does everything you want from a receiver. He does not have that great speed but I don't think that will be a drawback in his production.

He seems to have a high floor.

I would take him because I don't see him failing. He will be a productive player that should help the Browns.

I thin k OSU safety Caleb Downs is ov erall best player in the draft. I think he has hall of fame potential.

I listened to a podcast today with Daniel Jeremiah and Steve Smith.

They went over the top receivers in depth. Both liked Tate the best. Steve Smith brought up some key points about his blocking as well as all aspects of playing receiver.

I feel good about Tate.
