I had no idea Proctor carried a bad rep.

Is it verifiable?

No amount of skill can overcome bad effort.

That is IMO the key to drafting. You have to get inside his chest and feel passion for greatness.

I hate poor effort. I love guys who I can see give it their all.

Carson has that. Carson will be one of the great linebackers in the NFL.

Very commonly reported that he is very inconsistent play to play.
Don't mean to imply anything about actual work ethic.
Personally I worry about weight issues

The difference between Jesus and religion
Religion mocks you for having dirty feet
Jesus gets down on his knees and washes them

It is up to the Browns staff to find the truth.

It seems like all the top OL prospects in this class have some issues.

The OL is a place where you develop. Players get techniques refined and they build strength.

Proctor, Fano, Mauigoa, Freeling, Lomu none of them are coming into the draft like Joe Thomas.

We have to find the guy who will continue to improve.

This was more from early on in his career. He was very inconsistent and that led to reports that he could be lazy. Those inside Alabama have refuted that and in 2025, he became one of the top 5 offensive tackles in all of college football. If you are going to hold his early career against him, you MUST hold Freelings early career against him as well.

I think Mauioga was the only tackle in this draft rated higher than Proctor. Neither Utah tackle was higher. Mauioga is a right tackle. I have no problem drafting a right tackle, as long as you are going to play him at right tackle.
