My draft strategy as it sits 3 weeks away from the draft is squarely on one of two strategies... Trade down from #6 for 2027 draft capital. Get the LT you feel is best between Proctor and Freeling, for me it's Proctor. Then the best WR still on the board at #24. There are 7 WRs that I have a first round grade on that are worthy of that pick. I don't have them graded closely, but all would be an immediate improvement to the WR room. If this is the strategy you go with, then a second WR will need to be picked at either #39 or #70.

Strategy #2, if Tate is on the board, take him and move on to BPA the rest of the way. If he is there, he is my BPA, so I don't have an issue turning in the card before we are officially on the clock. Then, I would try to move up 4-7 spots from #24 to secure the LT that I covet. I do think both will go between picks 17-25. So if you are dead set on one, you will need to get ahead of the Lions at #17 to make sure you get him. I do think the Lions take a LT if both are on the board when they pick. Moving from 24 to 16 would probably mean losing #70 and a 2027 4th or (1) of the 2026 5th rounders (we have 2) I would rather spend this year's 5th, but that would depend on what the Jets wanted to do. They might rather have 2027 pick. Jets are primed to move all over the board, so they would be a prime trade partner.

We have to be aware though, the Bears and 49ers are in desperate need of a LT as well. The Bears signed Jed Wills to a one year deal, they were so desperate. The 49ers still have Trent Williams on the roster at the moment, but he is carrying a $46M cap hit if they keep him on the roster at the age of 37. He would save $12M on the cap if they cut or trade him and it would be reduced even more as a post-June 1st designation.

This is who we are really competing with for these two LTs. I don't think anyone is really sold on either of them. They aren't the type of prospects that are going to transcend an offensive line. They are both solid enough though that they will be first round picks.

I would rather get my first choice at WR, whom I have rated higher than our #6 overall pick, then sacrifice our 3rd round pick to move up for Proctor at #16.

Now, if Dallas really does covet a defensive player enough to want to give us their #12 and either #20 or their 2027 first round pick... I would do that. Then I would consider Proctor at #12 or take Makai Lemon at #12 and then move up from #20 to get Proctor. THEN, come back at #24 and draft Denzel Boston, Jordyn Tyson or Chris Brazzell to pair with Lemon.

You cut off the other half of the sentence that makes it meaningful... Jack Stoll is not a FB, he is definitely going on the depth chart as a TE.. If they draft either Nowakowski or Bredson, they would more likely be listed as a FB. I believe Monken likes utilizing a FB. I would be surprised if we end up with a depth chart without one.

I would love to re-sign Njoku. Then my previous statement would be invalid about Stowers.

Our most obvoius biggest needs are at Oline and Wr
Personally, other than Mauigoa, I don't see any prospects in this draft at oline/Wr worth the #6 overall pick

Here is a wildcard:

Mansoor Delane, CB, LSU
Argueably the most talented player available at #6
Plays a high value position
Can play in the slot or outside

Ward is often injured
Per AI search:

Over the past 5 seasons
In games ward plays 80% of the defensive stats or more the Browns record is 40-29 (.580)
In games ward has played less the 80% of the defensive snaps or was inactive that record is 12-21 (.363)

Can you have too many good Cbs?

Would not be surprised to see a CB taken somewhere. I don't think it will be at #6 - too many good options will fall to us. there are 2 valid edge rush options, a LB, a safety, Tate, Mauiga ... and we know Mendoza will be gone. So 2 out of those listed will be available. Personally, I'd take one of the edge or Downs at S before taking CB that high.

With all the talk of wanting to trade down - decided to do another mock with trades - generally I think mock draft sims aren't very realistic with their trades so normally avoid them but I guess we are in the lull before the storm and ... why not?

I really look for us to trade at least once looking for that extra #1 in 2027.

I think that would be optimal. The Cowboys might be the only team willing to give up a 2027 first rounder to move up to #6. It could be a perfect situation.

Don't particularly like this draft. Proctor is too much of a ??? mark for me, I've heard some people say that his feet aren't quick enough for OT and that he plays to upright at times and lunges at defenders, I'd consider him at 24 but I don't think he's worth the risk at 6. I like McNeil-Warren but to me S is one of our least concerns and I would rather take one later in the draft. As for Brazzell and Hurst, I'm not impressed with either guy, Brazzell is strictly a speed guy with a very limited route tree and reminds me of last year's 3rd round pick Jaylin Hyatt who was drafted by the Giants and had a very underwhelming 1st season. Hurst played at Georgia State where they didn't exactly play the toughest competition and his play was to up and down, 1 week he'd look really good and the next he would be invisible and while he has good speed he seems to be slow in his movements, I just don't see him being anything more than a 4th WR on a good team

I Think Kayden McDonald is underrated getting him at #39 would be a steal

I hate the idea of trading 6 and our 2nd for Dallas's 12 and 20. I just don't think that's enough value on our side.

I would be willing to do this: #6 and next year's 3rd for 12, 20, and next year's 2nd. If they say no, who cares. I don't see a ton of value difference between 22 and 39, so we'd basically br giving away a pick of almost equal value. I think that there is a great "middle" to this draft. Dallas is lacking in picks this year, so if I can get extra value for this year and next, great. If not, then don't just trade tp make a trade.

At #6, if Tate is gone and perhaps Mauigua as well), and we are unable to trade down, then IMO Delane CB could be the pick.

I'm thinking Freeling and Cooper

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."
