Six is a difficult position.
Do we take one of the blue chip players who may not fill a need or do we reach for a lesser talent at a position of need?
For me, I'd take the best player, but I don't make the picks. If we "reach" to fill a need, I hope it works out.

I actually think the OTs might be closer to being #6 worthy than the WRs. Not really sure either are.
In this draft, you have to work with what you've got, though.

Can someone confirm this-- I saw a post that the Browns didn't have these OT in Cleveland as part of their 30 visits:
Mauigoa Fano Freeling Proctor

This is what I found by doing a quick search.......... Kadyn Proctor (Alabama): A massive 352-pound tackle, Proctor has been identified as a player the Browns are "infatuated" with and held a pre-draft visit with the team. Monroe Freeling (Georgia): A top left tackle prospect, Freeling visited with the team in April. Caleb Lomu (Utah): Considered a Day 2 target, Lomu was among the prospects visiting the Browns in April. Markel Bell (Miami): A 6-foot-9, 346-pound prospect who also met with the Browns, Steelers, Eagles, and Dolphins. Note: These reports are based on April 2026 pre-draft, "top-30" visits, where teams host prospects at their facility for interviews and physicals. I did want to add that often times later first round picks that have not made the official visit of 30 players get selected later in the first round by Berry. He often also relies on the combine interviews. If you extend that list to include the combine interviews it gives you a much longer list.... Markel Bell Offensive Tackle Miami Formal Yes Spencer Fano Offensive Tackle Utah Monroe Freeling Offensive Tackle Georgia Formal Yes Caleb Lomu Offensive Tackle Utah Formal Yes Francis Mauigoa Offensive Tackle Miami Blake Miller Offensive Tackle Clemson Kadyn Proctor Offensive Tackle Alabama https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nf...here-is-cleveland-s-focus-on/ar-AA20N3xa

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

If they wanted a tackle first anyway, then they traded down and got their choice. Can’t fault that. Lotta good receivers left.

I thought Andrew Berry did a good job of reading the draft last night. Moving down 3 spots and getting an extra 3rd and a 5th round picks and still getting his targeted player was really good. Everyone clearly knew the Browns wanted to trade down and I thought he got good value for the trade down. Then everyone really thought the Browns were drafting a Tackle and a Receivers. What order was the biggest question. The run on offensive lineman happened early so drafting a lineman first and a receiver second seems to be the right play. Ultimately, did the right players get picked. TBD... But he did seem to draft value with need in both selections. I do give him credit there. Fano was a safe pick that may not have a super high ceiling, but he has a low floor. Barring injury he should be a stalwart on the line for a decade. Then KC Conception meets the need of adding explosion to the offense. He is a playmaker and the Browns desperately needed playmakers.

I do too.
Do you think Tate was 1a on our board and they assumed from the get-go this would be the pivot?

Lemon will be a lemon and Max Iheanachor will be a HOFer. You don't know that, there are to many factors involved. They may be Hall of famers and then again they could be bust, let them play and see ...

That post was 100% snark.

Do you think Tate was 1a on our board and they assumed from the get-go this would be the pivot? Very easily could have been. We will never know. I am sure Andrew Berry will always say I was going to pick Fano and 6 instead I traded back got a 3rd and a 5th and still selected Fano.
