Who are the top rated guys?

When is the juice worth the squeeze for McCoy?

Well, for starters, we own 4 5ths, and a 7th rounder.

I could see us packaging some picks if an interesting player drops.

However, value can be found in the 5th, and we do have 3 early 5th rounders. (146 148, 149, and 152)

So, what should we look for? Obviously we should prioritize BPA, but that doesn't always happen. So, what do we need? Another RB would be good, but I just don't see a ton of value there right now, but maybe a FB can be found. We need another TE. We could use another LB. It's hard to see us grabbing another OL, just because it's hard to carry more than 2 rookies on the OL, and we have met that mark. That said, maybe a C/G? I just can't see us carrying 3 rookies on a team that will likely carry 8-9 (at the most) OL.

What is it with Berry and pairing up positions? Last year 2 QB and 2 RB. This year 2 WR and 2 OT. I could see us grabbing another DB. Berry loves DBs, and one more would give us a pair there too. rofl

My guess? Maybe a TE/FB, a CB, a RB, and perhaps a LB. I can't see us using all 5 of our picks. Maybe a trade up, maybe trade one away for next year? Only the Berry knows for sure ....... wink

What are your thoughts?

CB, Developmental QB, Speed rusher

Think we might go 6OL a decent bit after missing on blocking TEs. Could maybe still find one, but the run could continue on TEs in the 4th, and I don't see one I want to trade up for. Not getting one could also lead to an Njoku reunion. Hopefully he likes what we've done in the draft, too.

Or trade 5th round picks this year for 5th round picks next year? I know sounds strange but ?

Berry read your post and laughed. He trades 5th for 4ths and 3rds, silly.

I think we'll draft an "experimental" TE. Someone under the radar who is an athletic freak.

I wonder if Berry manages to move up to the top portion of the 4th.

I also wonder if there is a pllayer who is quietly available for trade who we might be interested in.

Good draft so far, and we suddenly have few needs. In no particular order:

Developmental C - I like Coogan from Indiana. PLayed LT but projected as a center in the NFL

Back-up Rb - I would like one of the 2 Penn St guys

Bach-up/Developmental Cb - I think now would be the time to grab McCoy

If we aren't planning to re-sign Delpit, another safety would be nice.
I like Genesis Smith

Back-up Lb - I like Jack Smith BYU

Another edge rusher. I don't have anyone I am familiar with.

Value - Looks like we could get good value at OG
Farmer OG Kentucky?

Late round Qb flier?
Nussmeier Still available?
Sawyer Robinson Baylor maybe

Another TE?
Tanner Koziol Houston

A back-up DT?

Its seems like teams are starting to use 3 TE formations more in recent seasons.

Quote
"There were 1,897 plays with three tight ends on the field league-wide in 2025—the highest on record and a 33% increase from 2024. This is part of a 30% rise in multiple-TE plays per game since 2018.

Quote
Tight ends played a record 48,102 offensive snaps in 2025 (most in 20+ years of tracking). They also set records for receptions (2,866) and receiving yards (29,072), with yards per game up ~37% over the past two decades.
https://www.ctinsider.com/sports/ar...se-of-tight-ends-could-have-22216319.php

Quote
Many teams showed elevated multi-TE rates (e.g., Bears, Rams, Raiders, Falcons, Browns, Seahawks, and Steelers often above 40%). Lower 3WR rates correlated with heavier TE usage.
https://www.sharpfootballanalysis.com/fantasy/nfl-offensive-analysis-adjustments-2025/

Could be why Berry was targeting TE on Day 2.

Great pickl for the Raiders. Maybe McCoy might need surgery right off the bat, but his talent is full 1st round type.

I wish we could have got him.

Offensively I think we still need a developmental guy at C or OG and a #2 TE

C Sam Hecht - Kansas St.
C Connor Lew - Auburn
OG Beau Stephens - Iowa
TE Justin Joly -NC St.
TE Jack Endries - Texas

Defensively I would say that we still need LB depth, CB depth and a Nickleback

LB/S Kyle Louis - Pitt
LB Bryce Boettcher - Oregon
LB Aiden Fisher - Indiana
CB Malik Muhammad - Texas
CB/S Jalon Kilgore - South Carolina
CB Chandler Rivers - Duke
CB Charles Demmings - SFA

I'll add to this:

OG Billy Schrauth ND, run stuffer. Blocked for the only two RBs taken in the first round.
RB Emmitt Johnson Nebraska
TE Riley Nowakowski Indiana, Blocking TE/FB hybrid
FB Max Bredeson Michigan

CB Keith Abney Arizona State
LB Harold Perkins JR
LB Taurean York Arizona State

Then I think we could use the depth, so EDGE LOGAN Fano, Utah. It's a need, about where he should go and he can be with Fam.

I don’t understand why we’re not moving up. Having 4 5th rounders in a draft that most of the people I’ve read feel is a top heavy draft with thin talent in later rounds and we’re staying put with all those picks? We typically don’t hit on much after round 4. Just bottom of rotation guys.

Maybe it's too expensive, or maybe they like the way the board is falling right now.

I want nothing to do with another QB. Ride with what we have and see how things look next year, if need be.

I’m interested in Nussmeier. I watched him in 2024 and I thought he was legit. Hearing that he was injured all last year I think should qualify his play last year. Generally I don’t want another backup QB but I’d understand that pick

Honestly if Nussmeier falls I would have no issue taking him.... pick number 148 .. c'mon.

CB Keith Abney another. RB Emmett Johnson. TE Justin Jolly.

Any of those.

Thoughts on any positions to specifically address? TE? LB? and any players specifically. I'm really feeling like Nussmeier if he's there. It's too much of a Berry profile - highly touted, has had a off year (injured).... value has fallen. at 148 he would be pretty a low cost "what if".

I don't either, but I don't believe in any of the QBs in this draft, after pick 1 anyway.

Singleton RB Pen State was talked up on the video Jester posted. Be happy to see him picked. Agree RB would be good in light of Judkins injury.

I would really like to see the Browns add a back like Singleton to back up Judkins.

RB/FB, TE... Really any player that has any attributes Berry covets could be picked here. They are long shot players at this point. But they are also cheap alternatives for backup/3rd string guys. If we can find guys that can be rotational, it will be a win.

Sam Hecht was the last Center I think could start sooner than later.

At this point, I still think Brailsford or Coogan could be developmental

Brailsford it is...

YTown, Center is the one position they didn't directly address in free agency. Jenkins could step in if needed, but he is better at guard.

Fans too !!

Profile says undersized but good feet and explodes out of his stance.

Strengths
Explodes out of his stance with fluidity and balance (elite broad jump)
Best 10-yard split (1.70 seconds) among all offensive linemen at NFL combine
Rangy player and comfortably reaches backside defensive tackles
Gracefully gets where he is going and can be a weapon on screens/climbs
Dogged hands to engage and stubbornly stay attached
Sinks hips to neutralize power and slow down bulls
Sees things quickly and makes split-second reads
Rarely searching — understands angles/moves and gets to work
Determined worker — learned to love the weight room at a young age
Voted a team captain by his teammates in 2025 (Brailsford and QB Ty Simpson captained the offense)
Durable and plays through bumps and bruises (42 starts over past three seasons)

Weaknesses
Undersized; has always been lighter for the position
Not a people-mover in the run game (and never will be)
Blocks with a wide base, which hurts reaction quickness to inside moves
Struggles to recover once he loses leverage
Can be pushed from his spot by angle blocks
Penalized 17 times over three seasons as a starter, including five flags (three holds, two false starts) in 2025
Saw some time at guard but likely a center-only prospect in NFL

Got a Seattle 2027 4th for our 2nd 5th.

Cool. It's not like we're gonna find blue chips in the 5th. He's 290, which is light in the a$$. I'd like to think some time in the weight room could get him over the 310 threshold but it's not like Alabama isn't a weight room-centric program. We'll see.

Oh, and another GIANT fro. Love it. We're the team of giant fro's now.

Brailsford is very athletic but I'm concerned about his size, he weighed under 290 lbs at the combine

This isn't always accurate on The Google...

Trade Details: Denver receives pick No. 152 (5th round); Cleveland receives picks No. 170 and No. 182 (5th/6th round range).

I think the Browns FO are ok with our current QB room failing, no matter who starts, because of next year's draft class. If one of them surprises this season, so be it.

I suppose that's how safe I think AB's job is as well. He''ll get a chance to get his QB if he ends up needing one.

This is pretty much how I see it to. I'm surprised they haven't done more to pick up another 1st next year. We're gonna need it if we want one of the top QBs. But there's no reason to spend a pick this year on a just another guy in the room. I could have seen the Nuss pick if they saw something but clearly they, and everyone else, doesn't.

If the QB situation this year is an abject failure, we're trading Garrett for an iron-clad chance to draft the next fQB and ammunition for a quick re-load. jmo

I would draft him for the PS and camp. I do not like our QB room at all. Too much kool-aid IMO.

Good size. He's fast-ish (4.65) for a TE and has good hands but questionable blocker. The videos look decent. Went to Cincinnati Elder. Probably killing him a little bit to be playing for Cleveland. rofl

If they can teach him how to read and throw better then maybe. It sounds like he's a very one dimensional player. Super slow with reads and hangs on to the ball, low average completion rate, lots of INT's and sacks. Very mediocre passer but blistering runner and freakish athletic stats. Lotto ticket is right.

I'd see if he can catch. He looks like a WR. Like... a really good one. Super tall, fast as hell, crazy vertical and looks like he makes people miss. Just don't know about all the other stuff.. hands, routes etc.

HELL YES!!!!!!!! Grabbing Taylon Green to replace Dillon was something I wanted so fugging bad. Green is PERFECT for a Monken style offense. He needs to sit this year out and be developed for a few years while Sanders gets a shot this year but his ceiling is WAY higher than Sanders in pure raw physical ability. I can see using him in some wildcat situations for sure. I LOVE THIS PICK!!!! Now trade away that midget qb Dillon.

If (and this is a huge if), Monkin can coach him up, improve his accuracy and teach him to read a defense, he could become a bigger stronger Lamar.
He has a long way to go to get theri

I wish they would take Nussmeier, who is clearly better than Gabriel, and then go to camp with four and put one of the rookies on the PS. But I know it is a lost cause.

So, if they teach him to be a QB then we drafted an iffy QB?…now we have 4 iffy QBs.

I would guess that he'll be a gadget WR/specialty player/jack of all trades type.

All in all it was a very good draft. The first 4 picks made a lost of sense in terms of value and need.

I think Berry was very aggressive in moving around the board. The only pick that I question was Barber, but that is just me.

I thought that the Browns would draft a QB, but that it would be Beck or Allar.

The rest of the player and the Free Agents will be wait and see. I am fine with that.

I'll take it!

Really nice draft by Berry and his staff.

Taylon Green is going to embarrass every QB on our team. I think we got the steal of the draft.

Probably should put a NSFW warning with that video.

I like what Taylen did on the board. Looks like more than just an athlete. Hopefully, we can clean up the trying to do too much which led to a lot of his turnovers. The Defense should help there, I think.

In regards to Taylon Green at this point he doesn't look anything like a complete QB. But what he does look like is a perfect wildcat QB. I've seen reports that indicate Monken plans to use Green as a Wildcat QB and if so he got great value in the sixth round.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I never missed Gruden's shows.

Love his passion for the game.

Impressive performance by TG. Smart young man.

His future is in front of him. If he can make the necessary strides.

I agree.

I see a Taysom Hill ... only faster. He could legtimately line up at QB, RB, WR, TE .... who knows? I see a trick play magician.

From a pure physical tool standpoint TG stands alone.

Randall Cunningham is kind similar in build.

However, no quarterback has his measurables.

His future will be about how he learns the mental part of the position and reduces turnovers.

He was a good pick at where we drafted him.

In a few years ya never know.

Physically he reminds me of Josh Gordon. He may be even more gifted than Gordon. Is it possible we could use him at WR if he doesn't work out as a QB?

He's the Browns property at this point. But, someone from the media already asked that question and separately both Andrew Berry and Todd Monken both responded the same... No, we drafted him to play QB.

Green was asked at the combine by an NFL network reporter if he would do WR position drills if asked by a team and he said he would refuse because he is a QB.

Well, I guess that settles my idea about Taylen becoming a WR. With TM as our coach, he may be able to develop him. I have more confidence in him being able to do it than KS. He did it with Lamar maybe he can do it again.
