Based on writings and words from his family he was intent on killing administration officials and if the President is in house, no doubt he would be the ultimate target.

The tolerant, inclusive left strikes yet again.

People attempted to assassinate Hitler 42 times.

When the leader of the free world is a known sexual predator, pedophile, a convicted felon, threatens genocide in Iran and has his thugs murdering US citizens for protesting his policies. Well that makes him a target for a lot of people all over the world now doesn’t it?

I need to dig more into this before I really comment, but the little I read was that there are quite a few parallels between this incident and the last assassination attempt (namely, someone without the credentials getting WAY too close to accomplishing their deranged goals due to shortfalls in the performance of secret service and whoever else was in charge of security).

Here is what I find odd in all of this. The man in question here never entered the ballroom. There was no breach of the ballroom at all. There were no shots fired in the ballroom. Whether people question the security measures or not, the ultimate goal of keeping any threat out of the ballroom to the point no actual shots could be fired at any administration official was successful.

So in response trump claims this is proof of needing the ballroom at The White House for security reasons?

I propose that if in fact a new ballroom at the White House were completed and this same event had taken place there, if an armed man breached The White House grounds but were prevented from entering that ballroom, trump would be applauding that he was stopped from ever entering the ballroom because of what a great idea and plan he had and taking credit for it himself. He would be saying that look at how this ballroom was in fact not breached and the reason he was not shot at and was so needed.

So the fact that security did its job and the shooter never breached the ballroom is the excuse trump is now making for why he needs the ballroom at The White House? Nothing more than a ruse to get what he wants.

Do not attempt to apply logic to anything that comes out of Trump's mouth...

There is no logic, only half baked statements to get what he wants (the ballroom).

As to the proposed ballroom, it does show a need. The ballroom wouldn't be large enough to hold an event as large as the one at the Hilton. That was around 2000 people. The ballroom is around 800 or so, but for State functions is it probably needed considering the politically deranged on the roam these days.

I see no logical reason why people are opposed to this. It is basically privately funded. It is said no tax dollars are involved. Even I doubt it won't take some tax dollars. The only reason I see as any opposition is because it is proposed by President Trump and you can't or won't agree with anything he does, so I just pretty much just ignore your opinions on things.

As can you. It's possible we all can. Heaven isn't reserved for only the people who share your views and your politics. And from seeing the things you've been promoting I hope you can change directions to prevent that.

Point being, when a president who promotes and shows his hate towards anyone who questions or opposes him on a daily basis by calling them names, when he uses pressure and threats against his opposition, a man who circumvents congress in ruling by decree, who purposefully starves millions of children world wide by cutting off funds to feed them and I could go on.....

It is going to garner extreme blow back. And when you combine that with the state of our mental healthcare system in this country it only magnifies the situation.

If and when someone in power doesn't want to act like some evil villain every time they open their mouth that would help. While I understand trump has never read this, someone may wish to read it to him...... " for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. "

The fact that Hitler too had so many attempts made to end his life points out history has shown this to be true.

I certainly don't condone such actions. I don't think any form of political violence or as in this case, attempted political violence is the answer. When someone such as the president presents himself and poses as such a nasty figure there are things you can expect to happen.

And before you bring people up such as myself, I'm not the president. I'm not qualified to be president and don't claim to be. Usually normal people hold the president to a much higher standard than an every day citizen. Or at east make an attempt to be an example as a good and decent person as our leader. That ship has sailed and yet you seem to blame everyone else for it.

I am REALLY in favor of public executions in this case. If you try to kill the president I think you should be hanged within a few days, maybe even the next day.

The new ballroom trump is proposing is 90k sq. ft. The Washington Hilton ballroom is 30k sq. ft.

No logical reason why people oppose the ballroom?......................

Trump said the new White House ballroom construction wouldn't 'interfere with the current building'

The president's quote from July 2025 circulated online as demolition began on the White House's East Wing in October 2025.

True

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-white-house-ballroom-construction/

A lot of people, and rightfully so, object to our president blatantly lying to us about disfiguring and destroying a part pf the White House without any prior approval. You know another one of those "king like" moves. But I understand there are those who think it's perfectly okay for trump to do things like that. I get it.

It is not like the most powerful nation in the world can't afford the ballroom. The crux of the issue is that this is Trump's own idea slammed down the Americans throat with not one word or authorization from Congress or the various agencies that are responsible for taking care of our national treasures. Sorry, but Trump is not the remodeler in charge. He is a temporary tenant. The reason why it is "privately funded" is to avoid any oversight of the project. It's just wrong.

I don't really object to the death penalty as the final result. I don't however endorse ignoring and stomping on the constitution in order to accomplish that. Due process is a fundamental right guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Everyone is due a trial and proper defense. Everyone.

Except immigrants held in detention centers or flown to third world countries per orders of DJT. Due process.... Ha. Ha. Ha.

Yes, just like Jesus said to love they neighbor and he didn't make any exceptions if they were gay, trans, immigrants or because of their politics either. There is also no reference in terms of excluding anyone from due process.

But as we've seen, often times people use the constitution to get what they want and disregard it in other situations depending on what they "want, feel or think".
