It seems in sports that everyone predicts everything.

Except that there is no accountability for what is predicted.

Since everyone predicts. The predictions are quickly forgotten. Unless one comes true. Then there is "I said so."

I never hear "I said so and was wrong." When wrong it is never brought back up.

Already the crystal ballers are predicting who and when we will pick in next year's draft.

So, that includes a prediction on the season.

So the Browns will be picking in the top ten.

What a huge pile of BS. So much can happen in a season that is unknown.

We watch sports to find out what happens. Buster Douglas knocked Tyson out.

I have no idea what the Browns record will be. What I do know is that teams in the NFL are unpredictable.

Who predicted that Sam Darnold and Seattle would win last year. Or, that they would be playing the Patriots?

The Browns have a new head coach, OC, DC and other new coaches. The Browns have added 23 new players through the 2026 NFL Draft (10 players), free agency acquisitions (7+ players), trades, and reserve/future contracts (6+ players). Key additions included Tytus Howard, Elgton Jenkins, and a 10-player draft.

So with all the changes made someone is going to predict our record?

Sure I just went to see the Gypsy fortune teller.

I'm glad you managed to get that out of your system. naughtydevil

I certainly agree with you. But I've gotten used to it. It's a lot like the draft. Pre draft these draft gurus and sportswriters pimp all of these players. Then after the draft they claim they know how to give teams draft grades before any of the players drafted have ever seen a snap in the NFL. When in actuality they're grading teams based on the teams that drafted the players they liked pre draft.

It's all a complete unknown. But the NFL isn't really a sport to those who own these teams. It's a business. Just like these "draft gurus" and NFL reporters. It's how they make a living. They need to have subscribers so they bleed it for every ounce of blood they can get out if it. Pre draft, the draft and post draft. They do the same thing with free agency. They do it with the combine. They'll be doing it with training camp and pre season.

It's a career for so many people. And they have turned the NFL into a 12 month a year product for consumption. A lot of it is nothing more than fluff, projection and opinion. Separating the wheat from the chaff has gotten to be a full time job for the fan base.

Neither them nor us know how any of these draft picks of all 32 teams will pan out. Neither they nor us have any idea who will even be going into the regular season healthy or who will be injured as the season progresses. There are a lot of people who find t entertaining to predict and even wager on such predictions. Any by all means if they enjoy that, more power to them.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Seven days a week 365 a year the NFL is covered. Lots of room to talk.

The draft has become it's own business.

I enjoy the draft and don't mind the predictions about the drafts. Mocks are used by teams.

PFF, the Athletic, former scouts and others have valid opinions and it's fun to discuss. Daniel Jeremiah did mock Fano and KC to the Browns in the first round. But he had us taking Fano with the 6th pick.

However, now that the rosters are close to finalized with FA and the draft over. Most teams like the Browns have made many changes.

Predicting the 2026 season or teams records? The draft you can look at teams and their needs. You know their last season's record and the draft order.

The college season reveals the top players by stats etc. So there is much more to base opinions on.

The new season? Forget about it. You know close to nothing other than last year's record(with a different team) and the quarterbacks.

I do think the 2026 Browns will be interesting because of all the changes.

Monken has never been a head coach in the NFL. How he runs this team will be fascinating. I rule nothing out.

I like the draft we had. But how they perform is unknown.

That's fine. You enjoy it but none of it is any less prediction based than ranking teams for next years draft order.

After everything you said about the draft you stated "I like the draft we had. But how they perform is unknown." Which is my exact point. That seems to be the exact same thing you're saying about predicting next years draft order.

I made the distinction between the two.

Way more information to make a mock than predict a new season.
