OP bonefish Legend Joined: Apr 2007 Posts: 17,609 Back in Atl. Ga.	I just tuned into UCSS. Two questions were brought up that were on point. The Browns have not drafted real talent at wide receiver for so long that people can't remember a guy who accomplished much. I mean Braylon Edwards? Please. Will KC and Boston finally give us true weapons at wide receiver? Number two question. The Browns didn't just add a player on the offensive line. They changed the entire Offensive Line. Fano was our first pick. The rest? How good or bad is the offensive line? We are all aware of the quarterback question. Looking at the receivers and the offensive line. It is a question. Myles and Schwartz are gone. We have a new DC. We traded and added Verse. Where is this defense?

This years line isn't established yet and best five undetermined- my hope is Brailsford wins Center spot and Jenkins goes to guard, others set sort of. QBs can't perform if they are under CONSTANT pressure- ie, poor line, thus WRs are hurt- steady line play is PARAMONT. PS- Defensive men in the box- stopped our runs and blitzed to punish Qbs due to POOR LINE PLAY. Our line MUST be better this year- period. New coaches/players/ and hopefully LUCK- Go Browns!!! Homewood Dog Hall of Famer H Joined: Mar 2013 Posts: 5,893	Prudent points on the last 2 posts. I don't know how things will shake out but I have opinions. I don't see how our O-Line can't be better than last year. We signed and drafted better talent than what we had. KC and Boston along with the further development of Isaiah Bond should be much better. The question is how long it will take for these 2 units to come together and play at a high level. It could happen sooner than we think or it may take a while. And of course there's our yearly numerous issues at QB. I feel we could win anywhere from 5-7 games with the possibility of 2 or 3 more depending on how quickly this team will gel and the QB play. As for the D no Myles new coaches again, who knows. If the O can move the ball and score it will help the D. We can speculate all we want and that makes for good discussion, but we really won't know until actual games are played.

A entire new coaching staff who has no experience with this roster. A load of rookies who will need to be depended upon. A quarterback battle that splits reps when the starter needs more reps. The loss of a good DC and the best defender in the NFL. A young receiver room who needs to develop chemistry with a single quarterback. A quarterback battle between two guys with very little recent success. Tall task on the plate to win games. Monken is the right guy because he is experienced but his first head coaching job in the NFL will be a challenge. I wish I could be optimistic but there are so many question marks. Whoever wins the QB battle will need to play at a high level right away or the season could go sour fast.

It puts to rest the BS around the fantasy of DW all of a sudden becoming a viable starter. If Shedeur develops chemistry with our young receivers. It gives the team a chance. We have had what looks like two good draft classes. The 2026 group still has to prove it but if they do the team can make a big leap. I for one will feel lousy if DW starts. It opens the door for another season of junk. I have no interest in seeing DW play. It would start controversy right from the start. Fans would be waiting to boo. Shedeur does not carry the animosity that DW does. SS also does not carry high expectations. I think there will be more patience. If Shedeur fails ok. Mentally you move on to the 27 draft.

Question one…I think by adding two highly ranked receivers we have a good chance at having one of them being a number one receiver. If both hit great, I think we will be ok with Bond as our 3rd option at receiver, Hopefully both rookies hit and push Bond to fourth. Question two…Not only did we bring in three draft picks we brought in a couple of seasoned vets who have starting experience. It’s my hope we can find five guys who can gel quickly. I think we have talent, im just not sure they can work as one in the short time before the season. As to the QB’s… I hope our line gels enough so we can have a decent competition. My hope is Sanders wins outright. I don’t particularly care for Watson and his tenure here has been pretty abysmal. Defense…Sure there are questions. We have at least a pro bowl caliber player at each level. I’m not as worried about the depth with the exception of cornerback. I don’t see a quality slot on the roster. Hopefully I’m wrong. If I’m not I would watch the waiver wire carefully as the season begins. #gmstrong

I am sure his head is exploding with ideas. This is his chance to put his name on a team. The NFL is a cold world. Results are all that matters. Everyone knows the quarterback situation. Monken was hired to fix the offense. He has to find ways to score. Berry has made changes in the roster. The entire offensive line has been remade. Judkins is cleared and ready to go. The receiver room has added a first and second rounder. Isaiah Bond returns with more muscle and high speed. Fannin looks to add on to a great rookie year. DW is trying to become an NFL starter after years of injury. Shedeur Sanders a second year QB is trying to win the quarterback starting job and prove himself as a starter. The defense has lost Schwartz and Myles. They added Verse. They have a new DC. The defense IMO will play fast. They will have to adjust to life without Myles. It can be done. There is talent on the defense and it is now spread around. They have to play as a unit. The season will depend upon how the quarterback will play.
