It feels good to see some semblance of real football for us. For me:
- Obviously we all will sat Watson/Sanders/Gabriel play well and/or separate themselves - I am getting the sense that DT and TE positions are areas of concern with depth. I'll see how those positions do - Let's see Boston/KCC make a few plays each - OL is the area that we need the most improvement and the cohesion has to start this time of year
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

I am interested in how the offense operates.
I will watch play design, route trees, blocking, execution, and efficiency.
On defense how we match-up physically. Are we getting up-field pressure.
Try to get a feel of where we are.

I also will add: I've seen a few clips where Monken was stressing "playing fast" and getting to the line with tempo. I wonder if we'll see any of that

I WANT TO SEE the Browns go 20-0 this season Ain't going to happen but to answer your question, that's what I want to see.
I AM ALWAYS RIGHT... except when I am wrong.

This game is a watch and see. Without having actually seen this team in operation its hard to say what I want to see. This game sets the baseline so to speak. Once we see what things look like it will be easier to make an informed opinion on what looked good and what needs to improve.

I agree, there is so much that I don't even know what to hope for at this point. I would like to get a look at the identity of the offensive system, but I think it is going to be very vanilla, just so Monken can get the QBs into situations to see how they handle them.
The defense.. are we still cohesive with the losses of Schwartz and Garrett? Again, I expect vanilla and not as much first team reps as we might see on offense.

I want to see an offensive line show signs of gelling and improvement from last year. Like to see QB play show good signs that position is improved vs last year. Want to see no serious injuries as preseason games are hard to see anything that speaks for what we will see during the regular season.

I'm not sure what there will be to see. Normally you see very little if any reps with a lot of, most of or pretty much all of your starters game one of the pre-season.
Normally both the D's and O's are pretty vanilla.
So I'm not sure if we'll get to see enough time with our starters facing the opposing starters to come out with any indication of what we really have on either side of the ball. I'm not sure we'll get to see much at all of the playbook being executed.
New coaches, new system and so many new players at best I think all we will see are baby steps.
I mean if our starters are playing against their backups, what would that really tell us?
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I mean if our starters are playing against their backups, what would that really tell us? For what it's worth, Monken said in his Monday presser that he will be watching the starters in all 3 preseason games this year... He also said Sanders was taking first team reps in his Sunday presser 20 minutes before practice and Watson took ALL first team reps.. so, take it with a grain of salt. I do think it's Monken's intentions to play the starters more than a normal off season because of all the changes, but upper management and veteran push back could change some of those early thoughts. If I am a QB, I would want every snap he let's me go... it could mean the difference between a new contract in the off season for Watson and being replaced by an early 2027 rookie for Sanders/Gabriel. I agree either way, it won't be against our opponents starters, so we could end up 3-0 in preseason if he does play the starters more than normal... and it not mean a thing.

Obviously, I want to see the offense in sync, playing with few mental mistakes and pre snap penalties. Most fans seem to want to focus the O, I also I want to see how the defense plays with a new coordinator.

Yeah, and that may end up being what we will see. Our 1's against their 2's a lot. Which I think may help in regards to lining up quickly and lessening pre-snap penalties. Which is a good thing. I'm just not sure what that would tell us as it pertains to how well we would match up against starting caliber players.
And don't get me wrong because I'm not attempting to make this a prediction, but as to your comment about going 3-0 in the preseason. Sadly enough that brings to mind the 2017 season where the Browns went 4-0 during preseason only to go winless during the regular season.
Not so much trying to mention that to be negative as I'm mentioning it because often times before each season fans get so excited and put far too much faith, belief and use preseason as some type of barometer going into the regular season.

This defense, considering the Browns situation at QB, may be the single most determining factor in the upcoming season. As a matter of fact IMO I most certainly believe it will be.

I want to see no injuries and the Oline looking competent (getting to the line and getting the play off clean and no obvious breakdowns in assignments).
I want to see the D picking up where they left off. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" I just hope somebody relayed that message to the new group of coaches.
