What did I see? I saw a well-executed game plan. The second-, third-, and fourth-string players knew their assignments and performed with few penalties. When was the last time we ever saw that in regular or preseason? Kudos to the coaching staff.
I think this sums it up. I'm not sure how much more you can take away from this preseason game ... I didn't want to slam Watson for his poor air yards stat that someone plucked, I wouldn't want to give too much credence to Gabriel playing well against a bunch of back ups. I liked and enjoyed watching that - but I take more out of it based on the discipline and penalties.
The two things you want to see out of back-ups on back-ups is to identify the guys who look clear and above the others. If they do that they have proven to be at minimum better players than other back-ups which makes you think the player could become a good starter. Gabe was clearly better than anyone else on the field when he played.
The next, out of QBs is how they managed the O. He looked like a seasoned Vet out there, in total command. It couldn't have been any better, or at least much if total perfection is what we are looking for. We have to remember, Gabriel has less NFL experience than Shedufus. To this point Sanders hasn't looked anywhere near as comfortable.
