This thread is something I've seen posted on a pretty much annual basis. I'm not sure who usually posts it but with only two days left until kickoff I decided to go ahead and put it up. It's never an easy things to predict that's for sure. Every season it seems to be at least a team or two that rise form the ashes and some teams who disappoint mightily and you never know which teams those will be.

We're in a tricky situation this year. In the next draft there appears as though there will be a great group of QB's to choose from. Of course that could change depending on who stays in school and who enters the draft. Considering the current situation being average this year could be a curse in the long run. Anything over 6 or 7 wins could put us out of contention for a top QB. Maybe even anything over 4 or 5 wins.

That means there are certainly two ways to look at the upcoming season depending on your point of view. You could view it as losing a lot of games is a good thing in the long term picture for the Browns. Or you could see it as every game matters no matter what and want to see the Browns win each and every week. I don't feel like there is a right or wrong answer to that.

A lot of us are getting older. Some much older and some wonder how many more seasons can they wait until no seasons are left for them? This week we lost one such man. A man many of us respected and loved. He never got to see that SB win. And far more for him than myself I wish he would have. If anyone deserved it he did.

Okay enough of that already. I'm just having a hard time getting that out of my head.

So what is your prediction for the Browns win/loss record for this season and if you feel like doing so, your reasoning for your prediction?

I'm going with 6-11. Realistically I think 4-5 wins is would be a better prediction but I can't help from wanting more.

My reasons are simply this. We have an entire new D with new coaching staff. An entire new O with an entire new coaching staff and system. An entire new OL which will all take time to gel. And let's face it, no QB on the roster have proven they can win.

For me, I expect such drastic and overwhelming changes will take time to come together. That it will be a gradual process and as such will seem very disjointed to start out. My hope is as the season progresses things will gradually improve. That by the end of the season things will tighten up to the point there is actually tangible evidence that with a QB we can be a dangerous and powerful force moving forward.

I think we win 5 or 6 games. Our QB situation is just horrible. I would love to be wrong, though.

5-12, absolute tops.

Anything better than that means that something magical has happened at the QB position, and I don't see that happening this year.

6 - 11 tops. And I am being a crackpot, wild-eyed optimist. We have a kicker and the makings of a few runners. My crystal ball threw up. Go, Browns!

I agree with this and think this IS a 6-11 team that will probably end up with 4-5 because we'll start "packing it in" near the end. I won't call it tanking, but we will already be looking forward to the next season and protecting young players that may have nagging injuries. That, besides the usual large pile of injuries and lack of high-quality depth.

So, I'll be "positive" and go 6-11 as well. 🤮

3 - 14, absolutely disgusting of a season. My $0.02

I'm worried that we won't even be able to count on our defense keeping us in games. I think many win total predictions that had us anywhere but bottom of the league were predicated on the defense at least being as good as it was last year.

5 12. Unproven oline . Not alot of great depth at CB oline TE .

Head says 5-12.

Heart says 7-10.

- First time HC (I've got some Freddy 2.0 vibes - flame me if you must!)
- First time DC
- First time OC
- Absolutely dreadful options at QB (I expect this to have a negative impact on the development receiving group)
- Bottom tier OL (I expect this to have a negative impact on Judkins and the run game's development)
- Significant depth concerns, particularly on defense. DB position depth beyond Ward and Campbell...yikes!
- Haslam confidently said to take the over on win total (this may be the biggest impediment to the team's overall success)

With all that being said: I was initially thinking a 3 win season, but I think they stumble into a 4th win.

Record prediction: 4-13

Another year. Another non-serious team.

Deshaun Watson was 9-10 with us with not very good weapons, while playing poorly. I don't see why we couldn't reach similar with better weapons. If he or Shedeur play at that level, or any better, 8-9 doesn't seem that unlikely to attain. Perhaps, Monken is a better fit with Watson. I do still worry some about the fan-Watson dynamic, but if he can't overcome it, Shedeur is in the wings. While I still have some questions with Sanders' processing speed and willingness to trust his reads, I think we have more guys you can scheme touches for and let them do the work than we've had in a long time. And Shedeur improving is still possible. While Verse isn't Myles individual talent-wise, I do think he could help other guys on D rise, potentially. If McGuire takes a step, opposing QBs could find themselves in some hot pockets. If the edges can collapse the tackles to tighten things up, Graham, Collins, and Hall could feast.

It could swing either way, but 8-9 is my guess. I'm cautiously optimistic they could be better than that, but they've got to show it.
