I'm torn on this...
The fact they are doing this recognition/celebration the same day as Watson's first home start seems like a PR stunt to suppress some of the angst toward Watson and hype the crowd about Chubb before the game. I'd prefer it to be more about Chubb than it being (possibly) about that.
But I get it.

The NFL is a short career for most running backs.
Nick was that guy you wanted forever. You didn't want him to age. You just wanted Nick to be what he was.
It started from the day he arrived. No frills. No boasts. Little talk. Just a baller.
I am very partial to the run game. I grew up with Jim Brown, Bobby Mitchell, Leroy Kelly.
I love to watch a pounding run game. Run it down their throats with a late lead and never give them the ball.
Be able to run it when they know it's coming.

But I get it. That thought hadn't even entered my mind. So it appears as it pertains to me, if that is their plan it worked. This casts a totally different light on the situation for me. It makes perfect sense. I'm happy Chubb is retiring as a Browns but just as yourself I'm now questioning the motivation for the timing.

But I get it. Memphis, I believe this is all about Chubb without any worries about the boos Watson may get. Fans are going to boo or cheer no matter what. A percentage of the fans tailgate and get in feelings. I personally make this all about Nick and his attribution he made as a player for the team he loved playing for. It's the first home game, When other would it be okay for Chubb to retire as a Brown ? Game 16 against the Colts in January when it's freaking cold af ? Let's not make this about a distraction for Watson Make it for what it really is A hell yes Chubb be Retiring a Brown !
