Don't look now but your Clevaland Guardians took 2 of 3 from the White Sox, and are now in 1st place in the Central.  Petey Halpin, of all people, hit a 3 run HR.

Joey Cantillo was impressive in long relief. Cade Smith is just into machine mode. He has been incredible of late. Oh, and Jose got RBI #1000 for his career ..... and it was a HR.

If the Guardians can hold the lead they would face the winner of Astros vs White Sox in a five game series.
Win that against teams who are barely .500. Then they are in the ALCS.
They have a great draw.
Braves ten games better with the 3 seed face a three game series with SD, Phillies, or Cubs. Then they would have to face the Dodgers.
Guardians have a realistic shot to make the WS.
Braves will have to face three series against the best records in the game.

Huge game tonight in Boston before we move on to KC.
White Sox already won today, and they host the Rockies (worst team in baseball) for the final three.
We have a one game lead and must maintain that lead to win the division and get a first-round bye. A tie with the Sox would mean they win the division as they own the season series.

Baseball has taught me it is one pitch at a time.
I am guilty of looking at favorable pitching match-ups. I always check what today's starter has done on his last three starts.
But I know things can play out and go the wrong way.
Once the post season begins you can throw away all the "favorite talk."
Baseball can humble favorites.

Wow what an incredible performance by the Cleveland Guardians.
Congratulations to the team for going 9-1 in the last ten games when they had to do it.
They have a great route to the ALCS.
No 3 game series. They face the winner of Astros vs WS in a five game series.
They can set their rotation and get the team fully prepared as best as possible.

Tears come easier than they used to.
Maybe you understand more and know a meaningful moment when you see it.
I have been around a lot of baseball. I know what sacrifices are made. The commitment it takes from players.
Seeing that moment for a great player like Verlander brought tears to my eyes. He walks away giving the game all he had to give.
Beautiful to see him celebrate that moment with his family.
