The answer looks simple.
Take Garrett Wilson away. We have the guys who can do that.
Number two rush Gino Smith. Pressure humbles quarterbacks. We got after Rodgers and Bryce Young. Both are better than Gino.
Gino is for the most part a pocket guy with not much mobility.
Breece Hall is not expected to play. The Jets should have a problem scoring.
So, cut down on the penalties. Continue to use Boston, Fannin and KC. Have patience in the run game with Q.
Of the games we have played this game looks the most winnable.
Of course that does not guarantee a win.

Wilson is obviously the biggest threat offensively (granted that Hall does not play). Plus the weather looks rainy and wet so that should mean a lower scoring type game.
Our offense needs to limit penalties and turnovers (easier said then done).
The game scares me tho - teams going opposite directions like this can truly go either way
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Boston is far to the left as KC settles into the slot. Fannin is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Sampson are split in the backfield as the ball is hiked ... Here we go."

I feel like it will be partly about stopping their run game/Braelon Allen. Assuming Graham is out and this defense hasn't been good stopping the run to begin with, if we can limit big plays in the running game, that will be a huge step. I think I'm ok letting Geno Smith rip it and if the Jets win that way, then good for them. But he doesn't scare me much with this pass defense.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

This game to me is a prove it game. It's a game on paper that we should win. The Jets have lost 3 in a row and we've won 3 in a row. If we've turned the corner this is one we should win. If we lose it's the same old same old. JMO

yeah if we have any intention on making games in December matter, we have to win this game IMO

Boston has had less catches than Wilson but with more total yards and the same amount of TD's, 2.
The jets have given up a total of 494 rushing yards this season with a 4.3 yards per carry average and a total of 4 rushing TD's allowed. They rank 25th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed, giving up an average of 123.5 rushing yards per game
The Browns have given up 453 rushing yards this season with a 4.6 yards per carry average and 4 rushing TD's allowed. In rushing yards allowed they rank 16th in the NFL with an average of 113.2 yds allowed per game.
Through the first four games of the 2026 season, the Jets' defense is allowing an average of 193.2 passing yards per game (or 193.3 depending on the tracking source), giving up a total of 822 yards and 5 passing touchdowns. Ranked 6th.
The Cleveland Browns have allowed 1,017 passing yards through 4 games in the 2026 NFL season. An average of 213.8 passing yards allowed per game, which ranks 19th in the NFL. The Cleveland Browns have allowed 9 passing touchdowns through 4 games.
As much as it "seems" the Browns need to focus on run defense in actuality they may need to focus more on pass defense.
Stats don't tell the whole story but they are usually a pretty good indicator.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Good info, thanks.
Sounds like it would be a great game for Watson to push it to the next level.
I don't know how their pass defense is so good (good pressure, bad opponents?) but we need Deshaun to shine on Sunday.

I think that may have a better possibility of working if they attack what has thus far been a weak point of theirs first. Their run defense. If we can loosen up their secondary and force a safety and or CB to come up in run support that increases the odds of success in the passing game. That's just my take on things from here.

Considering everything this game feels like if we do not turn it over we can win.

You're right. Good assessment. I think I jumped straight to the "well, we won't be able to run, so... " Hopefully this will be the last week without Sampson.

It may be tough to push the ball down the field with a rainy forecast. It would be a great time for our run game to start clicking more

Good week for an opportunity to sharpen the run. I would like to see Bond and Boston. Our D needs pressure. If we can run and move sticks, score well, then give them a diet of that.

Cut the penalties. The Jets always play us tough. We can't keep giving away yards either way. Run the ball, but us Sanders more. I think he has a little better burst and better vision that Q. I am not saying to retire Q by any means, just balance of the touches a bit more. Maybe not even 50/50, but get it closer.
If we can control the clock and quit shooting ourselves in the foot, we should win by 10.

It is going to be wet.
How much will it affect the game? Usually ball security can be a problem.
Probably be a low scoring game.
I feel good about winning this game. There is for sure a feeling of momentum.

Some time ago I used to go back and forth with Tab about receivers.
His view of receivers was that you could get by with average guys.
The Browns rarely had guys who were stars.
The investment in the draft to get KC and Boston is paying off. Your skill players have to be good. Boston, KC and Fannin can work an entire field.
They can make a route tree work in space.
I find it exciting watching these young guys. I believe they are going to get better week by week.
You have to score. Receivers can open the field and impact offensive production.

One thing it seemed the Browns lacked at the WR position was a solid, big bodied WR who was dependable and could go up and win those physical battles for the ball. They did try to fill the void a few times either in the FA market or with a later draft pick but never seemed to come up with an answer that could be depended on. It almost appeared that they tried to use TE's to substitute that role. Looking at the early returns they may have filled that void with Denzel Boston. And the difference that makes is starting to show on the field.

We have yet to play anything even remotely resembling a clean game, yet are 3-1. The team knows that they have played poorly in some aspects, penalties, etc. If they even just improve that by 50%, they should blow the Jets out.
This team has a new attitude. Led by verse on defense, and Boston on offense, this team really expects to win, instead of seeing what new and inventive ways they can lose, like in years past.
This team also ow has plus level talent at almost every position. That is also a huge plus.

Go Browns! Something I have seen that maybe most of us Browns fans do not want to give him credit for, but Watson has been a leader on offense. I have seen him get on the Right Tackle for missing a block and instructing WR's for running the wrong route. I have not seen a Brown QB leading on the field as I have seen Watson do so far this season.

When they got Odell I was floored.
I thought we were going to be really good that year. It didn't work out. Odell was an overrated player.
I find it exciting that we have this core talent at skill positions.
Who knows the future at quarterback? But no matter who ends up as our quarterback. They are going to have weapons and talent around them.

All the old blood is gone, and the youngsters are looking at him like the leader he probably struggled to be in the past. He's made a few comments about coaching them through the process and keeping them on the same page... and the rookie WRs asking and listening.

Odell was overrated and a Diva. Because of an occasional spectacular catch people thought he was better than he was. We finally started to draft talented players at skill positions. That's something we didn't do in the past. One example is when we passed on Julio Jones to move down and acquire more picks. Didn't work out to well.

Actually OBJ was a fantastic WR his first three years in the league. In his 4th season he only played in 4 games and only started in 2 due to injury. In fact in season five prior to the Browns signing him he had over 1000 receiving yards in just 12 games. In his first season as a Brown he had over 1000 receiving yards. But after that everything went to hell and the Browns had him in his went to hell period.

Weather report today stated about one inch of rain and wind gusts up to 24 miles per hour....hard to throw long. We will find out if our running game and run defense are good enough.....Go Browns!!!!

The weather will no doubt be a factor.
One would think it would favor the run game. I would think the short pass game would be in play as well. Fannin and KC are both really great at run after catch.
Monken will lean into that. I also think it favors the mobility of DW over a guy like Geno.

Add Boston. We should handle it well as far as matchups. Do we have anybody who shines in the rain? Leroy Kelly was a mudder.

This is just a quick response from Gemini AI......
Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins performs exceptionally well in wet conditions.
In fact, the defining breakout performance of his rookie season took place during a heavy, driving rainstorm on October 19, 2025, against the Miami Dolphins. In that game, Judkins put on a historic display.
• Stat Line: He carried the ball 25 times for 84 yards.
• Touchdowns: He rushed for a career-high three touchdowns, including an explosive, career-long 46-yard touchdown run up the middle.
• Versatility: Two of his scores came on direct snaps out of the Wildcat formation, a wet-weather adjustment made by the Browns' coaching staff to limit passing risk in the downpour.
Judkins noted after the game that practicing throughout the week with wet footballs prepared the team perfectly. He also stated in press conferences that he is completely comfortable running in "rain, sleet, or snow," drawing on his extensive experience playing in difficult weather during his college career at Ole Miss and Ohio State...................

This type of weather condition makes the game become like trench warfare.
The LOS is about traction. The big boys really get after each other.
There really seems to be a developing team camaraderie with the Browns and Monken is responsible.

The run game as well as the short passing game is going to be the difference. Our defense has been gashed in the run game at times this year, especially by the Jags and the Steelers. The good news is Breece Hall is out for the Jets. Breece is a home run hitter where Allen is more of a power back. We have been pretty solid up the middle on defense against the run except for week one. Problem is we are without Graham and Hall at defensive tackle. Huntington is a disruptive tackle but he is weak in the run game. I fully expect Kamara and Williams to be called up from the practice squad to shore up the tackle position. If they can hold their own I don’t see the Jets running all that great.
The big question I have is can we run effectively throughout the game? At times against Carolina and Pittsburgh we ran well but we were not consistent. We will need to use screens out of the backfield as well as wide receiver screens to help get our playmakers in space. With the weather expected I am not as confident as I was against Carolina and Pittsburgh. Hopefully my worries aer unfounded.
