Fate, I hear you!

Today, it is about the number of projected viewers, not quality.

Sadly, the number of real football fans is significantly less than the number of average Joes who watch football!

I'll bet most viewers have zero clue that Browns vs. Steelers is a rivalry game!!! It's not about the Browns history over the last 20 years. It's more about small market vs. large.

Sadly, NFL history is now lost. For that matter, the NFL as a sport is gone. Gambling has taken precedence.

This is probably the biggest trap game in the first 1/2 of the season.

I'm all for other fans not getting to watch us get our butts whooped.

Steelers' Cam Heyward sends warning to Browns after Jared Verse's 'dirty' accusation appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

With the Pittsburgh Steelers having the momentum after their international win over the New Orleans Saints last Sunday in Paris, France, 16-10, the team now prepares for the Cleveland Browns in Week 8. As Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers look to keep the wins coming, there is bad blood with the Browns, as star Cameron Heyward addresses the beef, specifically with Jared Verse.

It started after Pittsburgh's 27-24 loss to Cleveland on Oct. 1, when Verse said after the contest that the Steelers were "talking crazy" and don't have respect for "anybody who plays too dirty," via ESPN's Justin Cooper. Saying that the team was double-teaming and sliding, Heyward responded on "The Rich Eisen Show," saying that Verse's words "will be addressed" on the field.

"Double teaming, sliding, chipping, are those not allowed in our game?" Heyward said. "Yeah, I got the bruises to prove it. But we don't whine about it, baby. It's part of the game. And so, I'm looking forward to this game. It's gonna be a fun game. Both teams are in position to do a lot of work in this division, as they say."

"The AFC North is on fire, and I'm glad I'm in the kitchen because I like it that way," Heyward continued. "But those are words that were said, and they will be addressed."

Steelers' Cam Heyward has respect for the Browns
Browns defensive star Denzel Ward would be asked about Heyward's comments, though he was more focused on helping Cleveland to a win, via Mary Kay Cabot. At the end of the day, Heyward would share the respect he has for the AFC North rivals in the Browns.

"I have a lot of respect there for those guys," Heyward said. "But man, I'm looking forward to this game. These are the type of games you want. It's a five-star matchup because we're in it, as Mike T[omlin] would say. So bring it on."

It remains to be seen what will be addressed on Sunday afternoon, as both the Steelers and Browns have a 5-2 record, with the winner being the clear top team in the division.

There has been a bit of a war of words going on between the Browns and the Steelers in the wake of the teams’ tense meeting in Week 4, on a Thursday night in Cleveland. After that game, Browns star Jared Verse suggested that the Steelers do things that aren’t quite legal, accusing them of playing “too dirty.” That registered in Pittsburgh, where veteran Cam Heyward was not pleased.

He responded to the “dirty” accusation on “The Rich Eisen Show”: “Double teaming, sliding, chipping, are those not allowed in our game? Yeah, I got the bruises to prove it. But we don’t whine about it, baby. It’s part of the game. And so, I’m looking forward to this game. … But those are words that were said and they will be addressed.”

Denzel Ward: ‘They Do a Few Things a Little Differently’
Now, Verse tends to be a talker and perhaps something of a hothead for the Browns. The cooler veteran head is cornerback Denzel Ward, who is in the midst of one of the best seasons of his stellar career. Ward was asked about the back-and-forth between the teams.

“I don’t know, that’s on them, whatever Cam Heyward and those guys address. I’m trying to get a win. Whatever comes with getting a win, that is where I am going to be at,” Ward said.

Asked directly if the Steelers are a dirty team, Ward deflected: “They do a few things a little differently, but they’ve been playing very well since our last game and been improving each week. We’re competing for that No. 1 spot, so we are looking to go in there and try to get the win.”

Browns Should Keep History in the Past
The Steelers and Browns are, of course, one of the oldest and most heated rivalries in the NFL, and there has been outright fisticuffs between the teams in the recent past. Ward, of course, knows that, but said it will be important to file history away when they go to Pittsburgh.

Said Ward: “For me, this is a new game. I don’t look at the history or look at what happened. This is two different teams, different people. We just gotta go in and it’s the same thing, try to go 1-0 this weekend, try to get this win.

“It would be a huge win for sure, for our team. Just trying to stack on wins each week. A division matchup and being able to get a win against those guys will always do well for us. You can talk about the history and everything, but it would do well for us just to get a win and keep stacking.”

Exactly how many Browns players, or Browns fans for that matter give a damn about Cam Heyward running his mouth? I mean except for you obviously.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

If there is one thing that is common to all sports it is that you can only control the next move.

Marty used to make a big deal about focusing on "the next play."

You have to flush what just happened and move on.

This game against the Steelers on Sunday will come down to the team that executes the best.

Jon Gruden has a weekly show where he digs deep into an upcoming game.

His preview on the Browns/Steelers game is interesting.

Hard to believe that Gruden is 63. He looks damn good for 63. Hell he doesn't look 50.

I also don't know the Commanders schedule, but all teams get a prime national game. Maybe this is their only one? Maybe the Eagles for that matter. I agree with your take, but it can't be all that easy to just start switching start times, rotating crews, and upsetting fan schedules. I know I would be irritated if I had planned on a 1PM game to have it switched the week of the game to 8:30 PM unless I knew it was a possibility in advance.

great preview by Gruden - I'll watch it later

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Boston is far to the left as KC settles into the slot. Fannin is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Sampson are split in the backfield as the ball is hiked ... Here we go."

I don't care if the only ones watching this game are those from Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

Back in the Steelers hay day under Chuck Knoll there were some local Pittsburgh media guys that turned my stomach.

When they cover those days some of them were featured gloating. It used to really piss me off.

I used to respect Tomlin. Now he just pisses me off as well.

I want this game bad. I want to take Rodgers down a notch. And I want to ruin the season for Pittsburgh.

The short order is Pittsburgh sucks and they just aren't very popular....

No, in all seriousness, the Commanders have two more primetime games this season after SNF, but they would have had to flex it two weeks ago, which is the week the Browns lost to the Jets..so they were 3-2 at the time. I'm not sure the NY office saw them beating the Ravens after that loss...

The rules of flexing are a little strange. Just focusing on SNF, they can flex up to twice in weeks 5-10, with that two week advance to the change up to week 13... then weeks 14-17 they shorten that to a 6 day window. If we had been in week 14 and tied for first, it probably would have happened.

I don't disagree they need to have their finger on the pulse, but frankly, as young as this team is, I kind of like keeping the schedule as normal as possible. They showed they could do it on TNF, but something about normalcy until they get their veteran wings seems like a better option, imho.
