Trump names Stephen Miller as new White House chief of staff in major post-midterm shake-up

President Trump announced Friday that Stephen Miller, one of his top advisers and a longtime ally, would be promoted to White House chief of staff.

Susie Wiles has served in the role since the start of Trump's second term. She was the first woman to ever be named chief of staff, and she held the position for longer than anyone else under Trump.

"Serving President Trump in the White House has been the honor of a lifetime," Wiles wrote on X. "I'm so proud to have been a part of what we've accomplished together from securing our border and cutting taxes to strengthening our economy and putting America First."

In his Truth Social post announcing Miller's promotion, Trump said Wiles will "be moving over to the Trump Political Operation."

In his previous role as a deputy under Wiles, Miller had been widely viewed as one of the most influential figures behind the Trump administration's agenda — particularly with regard to its sweeping immigration crackdown.

Including all of humanity might be a stretch, but I agree you’d be hard pressed to find a person who does not think Miller is a pretty vile person. Setting a quota for 3,000 daily arrests gives off dystopian nature.

I think Russ Vought may actually be worse, but I am admittedly biased on that assertion.

I do expect there to be quite a “war” between the admin issuing executive orders and the new Congress in 2027. If the Dems put an idiot like Schumer in as majority leader - which I think they will - I think there will be a boil-over on the left. Perhaps the admin sees it that way too and they will dare someone like Schumer to do something more than write a “sternly worded letter” knowing full well he won’t.
