I'll assume that you have been banned for the name-calling, but I'll answer, just in case you are still viewing the boards.



First of all, a soldier dying is NEVER justified. I absolutely hate it when a soldier dies. However, I RESPECT how each and every one has made the ultimate sacrifice for a good cause. I don't use a soldiers death as a political tool or use them as a reason to bash someone. People need to put the emotions aside and respect the men and women, and their families.

Secondoly, do you know me? Have we ever met? I don't believe we have. So, what in God's name makes you think you know the reasons why I didn't join. You think that just because I didn't enlist, that automatically makes me a coward? What about everyone else that didn't join? Are they all cowards too?

Did it ever occur to you that, maybe, I COULDN'T join. Did you ever think of that, smart guy? I won't go into specifics. We'll just leave it at that because, fankly, it's none of your damn business.


I'm permitted to have an opinion and express it. You do understand that we live in a country that we can do that, don't you?

I will back my opinions up with facts and set my emotions aside, which many are incapable of doing.



I don't call what I do/say even remotely close to "beating the war drum." I hate war. I wish this planet could live in peace and we didn't even need a military.

War should never happen unless it is absolutely necessary. The war on terror is most-certainly necessary.



Like I said above. You don't know me. How do you know that I already didn't?

No, but it did occur to me that you would use it as an excuse. You wanna have an opinion ? Fine have at it but don't get too bent when someone calls you on the carpet and asks what have you done in defense of your opinion/belief .

I've yet to see you post a fact on this board. I've seen you make simple, on-liner opinion statements with no backing and call them 'facts'...



I've been around these boards awhile, and an active member of political debate, and I've yet to see anyone here lacking respect for the men and women of the armed services.



So you announce that you almost joined but didn't, and then throw a tantrum when someone questions why?...whatever. If it's none of our business, don't bring it up in the first place.



As far as I can see, the main component and focus on 'The War on Terror' has been Iraq, which was completely unnecessary.

Let me bring it down quite a few levels for you, so that you just might understand:

I wanted to join right out of highschool.....couldn't. Thought about joining again, based on emotion, after 9/11....didn't, and most-likely, still couldn't.



I can have one whenver I want, however I want. I don't need your approval. Get over yourself.



I do what I can. I defend the brave men and women over there when some jackass tears into them only because they don't like the guy that is in office.

What I did (Tried to join/did not join) I have no problem with. Questioning my motives, is the issue here.

The only one I was tearing into was you. A person who will freely discuss what we should do, how right our war on terror is yet lacks the stones to do anything about it . Another kid that only half pays attention to adult conversation at the dinner table then passes it off as his opinion.
