This is a very scary image to me. This guy isn't Hussein, not even close. You can't just hang people you don't like.

I'll assume that you have been banned for the name-calling, but I'll answer, just in case you are still viewing the boards.

Quote
You run your mouth about why we should be where and how soldiers dying is justified and that you are glad we are at war but admit to being a coward when it comes to putting your ass on the line?

First of all, a soldier dying is NEVER justified. I absolutely hate it when a soldier dies. However, I RESPECT how each and every one has made the ultimate sacrifice for a good cause. I don't use a soldiers death as a political tool or use them as a reason to bash someone. People need to put the emotions aside and respect the men and women, and their families.

Secondoly, do you know me? Have we ever met? I don't believe we have. So, what in God's name makes you think you know the reasons why I didn't join. You think that just because I didn't enlist, that automatically makes me a coward? What about everyone else that didn't join? Are they all cowards too?

Did it ever occur to you that, maybe, I COULDN'T join. Did you ever think of that, smart guy? I won't go into specifics. We'll just leave it at that because, fankly, it's none of your damn business.

Quote
You have an opinion but it isn't strong enough for you to put your ass behind it ?

I'm permitted to have an opinion and express it. You do understand that we live in a country that we can do that, don't you?

I will back my opinions up with facts and set my emotions aside, which many are incapable of doing.

Quote
it burns me up to here people thumping their chicken chests and beating the war drum

I don't call what I do/say even remotely close to "beating the war drum." I hate war. I wish this planet could live in peace and we didn't even need a military.

War should never happen unless it is absolutely necessary. The war on terror is most-certainly necessary.

when they NEVER had the balls to enlist.

Like I said above. You don't know me. How do you know that I already didn't?

Quote
Oh they'll give you a million reasons why they never did or point to a friend or relative that has served or is serving , like it gives them a pass for not doing so all the while telling everyone why we should be there and what it takes to win.

I do not need a pass for having an opinion. I don't need your approval.

I could really give a damn what you think of me, but you can take your judgement and shove it.

The majority? What did you do, conduct a poll?

OK, "majority" was a bad word to use. However, it is a known fact that a lot of terrorist organizations are coming to Iraq.

Quote
Have you forgotten who the true enemy is? It's not the Iraqi's....it's Al Quada...and they are WORLDWIDE.

Thank you, Captain Obvious. What would we do without you?

Quote
Funny, I could have sworn our commander-in-chief said it was to rid Iraq of it's weapons of mass destruction.

Again.........one of many.

Quote
My brother in law enlisted immediately after 9/11 happened. Left his brand new wife and two kids behind. He's home safe and sound now, with all 4 limbs intact...one of the fortunate ones you can say....

But it's a good thing you listened to your buddy and didn't join, Blade....God forbid you should fight in this senseless war that you whole-heartedly support.

See my post above to IRE. The same applies to you.

No, but it did occur to me that you would use it as an excuse. You wanna have an opinion ? Fine have at it but don't get too bent when someone calls you on the carpet and asks what have you done in defense of your opinion/belief .

Just not necessary enough for you to fight it personally ? <img src="/images/graemlins/plthumbsdown.gif" alt="" />

I've yet to see you post a fact on this board. I've seen you make simple, on-liner opinion statements with no backing and call them 'facts'...

I've been around these boards awhile, and an active member of political debate, and I've yet to see anyone here lacking respect for the men and women of the armed services.

So you announce that you almost joined but didn't, and then throw a tantrum when someone questions why?...whatever. If it's none of our business, don't bring it up in the first place.

As far as I can see, the main component and focus on 'The War on Terror' has been Iraq, which was completely unnecessary.

How the hell is it an excuse?

Let me bring it down quite a few levels for you, so that you just might understand:

I wanted to join right out of highschool.....couldn't. Thought about joining again, based on emotion, after 9/11....didn't, and most-likely, still couldn't.

I can have one whenver I want, however I want. I don't need your approval. Get over yourself.

I do what I can. I defend the brave men and women over there when some jackass tears into them only because they don't like the guy that is in office.

Apparently, you cannot comprehend the English language.

I think I'm not talking to a brick wall.

I've had this conversation many times with you, already. You ignore it, just like the facts that I posted long ago.

Believe what you want....it's what you do best.

Then you, obviously, haven't been paying attention.

What I did (Tried to join/did not join) I have no problem with. Questioning my motives, is the issue here.

I know this is how you feel. You will feel this way, no matter what facts I lay before you. Which is why I no longer spend long periods of time trying to have a debate with people like you and the other Bush-bashers.

You base your views on hatred, I base mine on facts....we're just different.

BTW, I'm not the least bit shocked that a thread about the final justice for Saddam turned into a Bush-bashing fest.

Typical.

Why can't you freakin' people just be happy? You always have to go and ruin something positive and use the situation to it around.

Continue to find more reasons why you don't have the sack to put your ass on the line to back up your comments . People like you make me sick .

The only one I was tearing into was you. A person who will freely discuss what we should do, how right our war on terror is yet lacks the stones to do anything about it . Another kid that only half pays attention to adult conversation at the dinner table then passes it off as his opinion.
