Alright, I have class tomorrow at 9 am and I should be thinking about that...but this girl is making me lose my mind. Right now she is on a date with a firefighter and I can not STAND IT. Being that A) I like this girl and B) I'm studying to become a cop...I just want to drive over and beat the living hell out of this dude. She isn't offical with him or anything...in fact this is their first date. I've never stated interest in this girl and actually didn't really think about her this way until about the past 2 weeks. So here is the problem...not only is she on a date with another guy, but we are pretty good friends as well. And me being old enough to know, when you are friends with a girl, that is the kiss of death if you want to take it to the next level. So the question is...is there any hope for me? Is it possible to pass the "friend" label...and if I beat the hell out of this guy, will that ruin my chances of becoming a cop?   *edit: I'm not really thinking of beating the hell out of the guy...  *

Not only will beating the crap out of the guy ruin your chances of becoming a cop, it'd ruin your chances with the girl.
My advice, stop sitting around lamenting the possibilities...ASK HER OUT!

Honestly, he really isn't in the picture as far as I am concerned. She actually called me earlier in the night to say that he was out on a call and he had to end the date early. She wasn't to thrilled and I asked her if she was going to go out with him again and she said probably not.

LIfe sucks, get a helmet. Tell her. If she turns you down let it go. If you really like her, a good test would be to see if you could hang out with her after being rejected. If not, she was probably just a crush, an interesting thing to attain. And whatever you choose to do, don't act mean or cold towards her if she says no.

man i know the situation.
I've gone the route of saying nothing. And, the thing is, I'm no more happy than i was before. Im in no better position. So did i gain anything? nope. did i lose anything? confidence.
The worst thing is you make a move, and she says no, and it ruines the friendship. As long as you make it a point to not let the friendship die if she shoots you down. Thats on you, you follow? If you make it a point to not let the friendship die, it wont. And if it does, then it prolly wasnt a friendship thatd last.
Its much easier said than done. But its what im trying to work on for myself. Just do it. The potential gains much outweigh the negatives.

1st you say you are having surgery on Friday the 18th for cancer. Then you say you should be worrying about school. Then you talk about beating the crap out of somebody because they took a friend out on a date. Something smells fishy here

There are PLENTY of women out there man, you can't stop at one, especially if you have not made any intentions to try and date or see her.  ..Get over the date with the other guy and just chill out. I am worrying about school and my surgery is on Friday...doesn't mean I can't go living my life. I still have school...it's not like I say "I have cancer, my life is over, WOE IS ME!" Besides, i'm prolly not even going to do this until after the surgery because if she says yes, It'll be pity.
But oh well, i'm not asking for anyone to believe me, only for prayers that everything goes alright...

firefighters and policeman both have difficult but different jobs....

I am just curious if this is something personal or something new b/w the 2. cause we always had a mutual understanding that our jobs suck and there for we respected each other.
