I need to pass that on then, or these people are lying to make themselves look better.
Is the TAP program 3 days for you guys as well? god talk about losing time in your life, I found it useless, when I attended.
then again I was Air Force, so we needed to setup a briefing to organize a briefeing the setup said briefing onlty to have everything change at the last minute. Ahhh the good old days.

TAPS is 4 days for non-retiree's, 5 days for retiree's. However, only 3 days of it are mandated. The DOL's portion is mandatory for all servicemen.

Air Force is still 3 days, all mandatory. You going to get an MSM? when you retire? I would guess yes and probably have one already with 3 clusters. Close?

Navy wouldn't have worked for me, I cant go on a boat without a fishing rod, plus being called a seamen for a few years would have done damage to my already thin ego.
Oh another reason why the Air Force is better, I don't recall a song by the village people with the title "In the Air Force" so you lose many points with that right there.

Bermuda. Nice. I remember my boss twisting my arm to go TDY for 3 weeks in the Caymen Islands, that was a tough decision.

Wild what you learn in the USAF the commendation medal is number 2 in the line of medals.
First is achievement Second is commendation 3rd is meritorious
Either way you have the most important in my book and thats the national defense. Be proud, theres years of sevice men who never recieved that honor, as others.

One other thing, and i am sure you pretty much know this, but do not I repeat do not lose your DD214 (if thats what it's still called) guard it as if it was a million bucks. Lose it, it takes over a year for you to receive a new one. I know you'll have the retiree card, but the 214 is important in many ways.

Only took 6 weeks for me to get a new DD214. Must be something to do with all the "intelligence" in the Air Farce. Army makes sure you get your papers quicker.

they all come from st Louis, but the problem it's taking longer is that there system was hacked a couple years back and I recieved a letter stating my info was stolen and if I didn't have a DD214 it would take at least a year to get it back. I had mine, but I know some others got screwed.

Congrats again Navy, Take your DD-214 to your local court house and have it scanned....you will never have the issued of losing it.............it will always be on file! I actually have mine filed in three diffferent court houses.......never have the issues of having extra copies! :grin! I am just trying to give you a little advice!

NO! Please tell me you didn't do that! Once you file it at the court house, it becomes public record. Why is that bad? Your full name, full Social Security Number, date of birth, etc, etc..that are on the DD214 becomes public record.

Thanks, Although I know what your talking about (seen them do it every morning on the ships) the Aviation community is a bit different. We have quarters at most once every 2 or 3 months if that.
