For a desktop, I'm a PC guy. Mainly because I play a lot of games. But for a laptop, I love Macs. They're just very well-built machines.

My laptop's a PC and my work computer is a Mac. I personally cannot stand the Mac. I cannot run a lot of programs on the Mac that I can easily run on my PC. It is a very big pain in the ass usually to get to run most programs on a Mac.
I will say one thing positive about a Mac - If I never used a computer before, it would be much easier to use a Mac.
But since I used the PC at home and a Mac at work, I'm am against anything made by Apple.
Don't buy a Mac, buy a PC...
Don't buy an Ipod, buy a Zune...
Don't buy an Iphone, buy a Voyager...
I'm against anything Mac...

I don't have a Mac at home. All of our computers at work are Macs. I don't have much control on that situation...

You can't run GIMP or SopCast on Macs, so PC all the way!

I would like to own both - my next purchase will be a Mac.
I have always owned Dell - have an old PC (2000) and a laptop that is about 2 years old. My work laptop is also a Dell.

That isn't entirely accurate. For instances when you can't help but needing a PC, the Mac can run windows. For all purposes, when you boot a Mac into Windows, you are on a PC.

You can run GIMP on a Mac. You just need to install X11 and get the appropriate build for your Mac. And if you just want to listen, VLC can play Sopcast streams.

ive always been confused about these comercials/lingo.
If you own a IBM laptop or desktop, it is a personal computer.
If you own a Macintosh laptop or desktop, it is a personal computer.
Isnt a PC, a personal computer, as in, it is your own personal computer?

They basically call computers that run Microsoft Windows "PC's"
Apple computers are known as "MAC's" and run their own operating system instead of Microsoft's.

Good point. A personal computer (PC) is a computer whose original sales price, size, and capabilities make it useful for individuals, intended to be operated directly by an end user, with no intervening computer operator. PC Defined in Wikipedia So yes, technically a Mac is a PC and a Windows-only machine is one too. But here's the question, what should you call a non-Mac personal computer?

Usually, since Mac is known by brand name, I like to call non-Mac personal computers by their own brand name... Gateway, IBM, Dell, eMachine, etc. However, if you look into buying accessories for your personal computer... let's say a wireless keyboard, or some sort of software programs... there's stuff that will work on Macs, and then there's stuff that will work for PCs. The interchangeability of the various brand names under the "PC term umbrella" makes the distinction between a PC and a Mac.
It's kind of like iPod vs. MP3 player. Yes, an iPod is an MP3 player. But you can't hook up any old MP3 player to iPod accessories. Thus, the distinction is made between what is an iPod and what is an MP3 player -- despite brand names like Creative, Zune, Logitech, whatever else.

Then I'm guessing you choose both. Since you own both.
