this kids trouble Pete .... when he was at the US Army bowl he said one of his big goals was to meet women ...

the only intelligent thing I've seen him do so far is let Batch help him .. that actually shows alot of intelligence ... but he's MILKING THIS and he's going to be a SELLFISH PLAYER no matter where he goes .. he has said a dozen other things that when added together make it obvious ... and although I agree with everything U said (wondering why U had to throw the race card out there ... uncalled for .. ) ... this is NOT SOCIETY'S FAULT ..... thats just a BS excuse ....

good luck with him wherever he goes ... hes got a TON OF TALENT and will be a handfull off the field ... will be interesting to see how he turns out .....

A "silent soft" .. *LOL* ..... and where did U hear this ... cause if their were any truth to that it would be all over rivals and scout ... and i have heard it no where ...

BUT EVEN IF HE DID .... do u care to explain to me why he's going to South bend in Febuary??? if he were going to see a game I could understand .. but he's going to the middle of no where in the dead of winter to a school with no night life ... whats he want some good quality study time there??? *LOL* ..

so LOGIC DICTATES even if he did give a silent soft once U look at all the factors surronding his visit ... you'd have to conclude he is at least somewhat interested in the domers ...

like I said I believe he will end up a Bucknut ... but he is no lock at this point ...

FYI .... Tresell spent Wednesday or Thursday with Wells ... and Wells confirmed his visit to ND is still a go this AM ....

the weather may not co-operate as the airport in SB and more than likely in Chi-town is having problems with this weather ... so he may be delayed or cancelled ...

I don't know if the kid is trouble or not. He is a kid. I can say that he has shown some immaturity. They all can't be Amobi Okye's. And we shouldn't expect them all to be. Frankly, Yes I agree that is not a good sign. I personally don't care where he ends up. And I did say from the very beginning that my comments were not meant to be taken as a defense for him. Regardless of everything else HE is responsible for his own actions. To this point I haven't seen alot to impress me concerning his character off the field. But he IS just a kid, and frankly he is probably too young or immature to deal with the fame he is receiving...Sure he is having fun with it now....but he will learn quite fast how the backlash will come upon him.

But my real point as you know was just the amount of information that is readily accessible. And how that also plays a large part in all of this. The race card I pulled was just another example of how much less information was out there. It doesn't mean I agree with the stance, because I think it was ignorant and repulsive....it is, however, still the truth. In the 40's and 50's and even part of the 60's, minorities were not heavily recruited. So that is a LARGE group of people we as individuals did not have information about as we are getting now.

I thought I was wrong once....but I was mistaken...

Talk about it in The Fort
In one corner - Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez and members of his staff. In the other - Ohio State head man Jim Tressel and a handful of his. Such was the scene last night in Jeannette, Pa., where quarterback Terrelle Pryor, the nation's top recruit, played in his last home high school basketball game ...

Terrelle Pryor
Pryor (6-5, 225), also an elite basketball recruit, scored 27 points and added 12 points in Jeannette's 76-57 win over East Allegheny. At halftime, Rodriguez and Tressel spoke for a few moments, though Jeannette head football coach Ray Reitz joked, "I thought I might have to wear an official's striped shirt to separate the staffs."

Both Tressel and Rodriguez spoke with Pryor's parents, Craig and Toni Pryor, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review added.

Pryor told the Philadelphia Daily News Saturday it's 50-50 he'll make a Signing Day decision [Feb. 6]. It's also possible he'll wait a few days to make his choice.

"I'm really undecided whether or not I'll take the trip to Oregon, but they are still on my list," said Pryor. "I'm still not ruling anyone out."

Finally, while Pryor said in December he'd like to work in a spread offense, he told the Daily News he was interested now in "Any offensive system where I can get some good numbers that can help me get in the NFL."

Watch TheWolverine.com for the latest on Pryor in the days to come ... and for several photos of the night's events, visit The Fort, TheWolverine.com's premium message board, where several of our subscribers have posted pictures.

If this is true, UM would not be the best place to go. RR' s spread is a college system, and would not translate well to the NFL.

JMO of course.

Yeah, Tressel sure is cranking out NFL passers.

At this point, I don't care. Just make a damn decision already. If it goes beyond signing day, OSU can have him. One single player isn't worth the hassle. Michigan will win with or without him.

FYI on Wells ...

Wells still unsure if it will be the Buckeyes, Irish or Vols
By Jeff Hood

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Published on: 02/03/08

Gainesville defensive end Keith Wells plans to do a lot of soul searching as he watches the Super Bowl.

Wells, who returned from a weekend trip to South Bend, Ind. Sunday afternoon, will announce at 11:30 a.m. on Monday if he will play college football at Notre Dame, Ohio State or Tennessee.

“Notre Dame made a lot of leeway this weekend,” Wells said. “Right now, they’re all even.”

Wells said he doesn’t plan to answer his cell phone this evening, even if it appears Ohio State coach Jim Tressel, Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis or coach Phillip Fulmer of Tennessee has dialed his number.

“I won’t talk to anybody else before I announce,” he said. “Just before I announce, I’ll call some of these coaches and tell them if I’m coming or not.”

Last week, the Irish looked to be a longshot to sign Wells. Now, Weis and company appear to have a legitimate chance.

“The visit to Notre Dame was nice,” Wells said. “I had heard about the campus, but I wasn’t expecting it to be that beautiful. You could just feel the tradition.”

I still think he ends up a Suckeye ....

I guess I'd rather play for Ohio St. than for a team that couldn't beat Air Force or Navy....

Notre Dame has a great tradition, but they were flat out embarassing this year.

You called them "Suckeyes."

Did you expect someone not to notice that? All I did was speak the truth. Don't get your panties in a twist.

Wells is a Suckeye .....

and here's the latest on Pryor ....

Pryor to decide Wednesday

Decision day will be at noon Wednesday for Terrelle Pryor.

Pryor, star quarterback at Jeannette High School, said today he is "80 to 90 percent sure" he will announce his choice at a news conference Wednesday. He had been considering pushing back his decision a week or so, and possibly visiting the University of Oregon.

But Pryor said he will not visit Oregon and the Ducks are out of the picture.

"I have to call them today and tell them," Pryor said.

Pryor said he will decide among Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State, although Ohio State and Michigan have been the leaders all along.

Jeannette school officials are also making preparations for the announcement Wednesday in the school gymnasium. Jeannette principal Stu Albaugh said only Pryor's invited guests and media members will be permitted to attend. The public is not welcome.

ESPN and CSTV plan to announce Pryor's decision live. Sports Illustrated and the Washington Post are sending reporters and newspapers from Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan also will be represented.

Wells needs to get in the weightroom before he'll play on the college level. Has a good frame and some decent potential but is he projecting as a DE in college or an OLB?? Rivals has him listed at an incredibly slight 211 LBS.

As for Pryor, I'm of the 'just get it over with already crowd.' I don't really care where he goes but waiting like he has will end up hindering the other schools that don't get him. I was hoping Michigan would just move on and sign other players because I get the inclination that this kid is a bit of a rat. I'm about 99% sure he's picking OSU (and has been for some time) and has just been stringing everyone along for the pub.

He's got the frame to put the weight on ... right now no one really knows where he will end up ... but my guess is with the Bucknuts running a 4 - 3 and then having a great haul at LBer all ready that Wells is going to be a DE there ... but who knows ...

regardless Nas he's a NICE GET ....

Nice to see Pryor letting the Ducks know after he tells the press .. him and RR seem to be from the same mold ...

rumor has it your boy Daniels may not get in?? any truth to that???

Michigan backed off from recruiting him. There was wide speculation that Daniels dad was/is asking for money from colleges. As soon as Michigan got wind of it, they apparently dropped him on the spot. It's all heresay but it could explain why no other big time school is touching him, even though he's an incredibly talented player. I personally think he'll be a better QB then Pryor when it's all said and done but RR wasn't going to take a chance once they got wind of there potentially being some foul play.

His offer list is pretty unimpressive for a 4-star player with all the tools to be a great college passer....that's why there seems to be something going on behind closed doors. He didn't get any interest from FLA, FSU, Georgia, LSU etc, etc even though he was from Tallahassee. Kind of strange really? Maybe he just has an incredibly bad attitude, who knows but for a guy as talented as he is, to have to choose between USF and Memphis, seems very odd to me.

A player that plays in the state of Florida, in a competitive HS division and throws for 2,500 yards and 30 TD's and runs for 1,000 yards and 14 TD's doesn't end up at either one of those schools (USF or Memphis) if there isn't something going on.

No Wells is now up to 235... read it on www.buckeyeplanet.com. He looks like a young Gholston. There is an interview conducted at the Under Armour game with him and he talks about his life plans (major and life after college or NFL and so on and his relationship with Tressel). He is wearing a cut off in the video and his arms are massive! Give him one year and he'll be up to 245 250 and creating havoc for opposing QB's.

But now that you mention it, Tressel has more in the NFL than RR does so there!

Mark Ingram - ATH - Flint (Mich.) Southwestern Academy
Committed to Alabama at 3:30 p.m. ET today.
Josh Jenkins - OG - Vienna (W.V.) Parkersburg

Onterrio McCalebb ? Ath - Fort Meade, Fla.
Committed to Auburn in mid-December, but continued taking visits to Rutgers and Michigan. Will make his final decision on Signing Day.

McGuffie has been committed to Michigan since July, but reportedly made a visit to California in the last week. He indicated to Rivals.com in late January that he was sticking with Michigan.
Charles Mitchell - S - Clarksdale, Miss.
Southern Miss, Nebraska and Mississippi State are finalists. Don't be surprised if the blue chipper goes with the Golden Eagles. He will announce at 10 a.m. ET on Signing Day.
Brandon Moore - TE - Trotwood (Ohio) Trotwood-Madison
Moore is committed to Michigan, but there's still some question how solid he is after taking an official visit to Miami on Jan. 25 and remaining quiet since then. Will sign his LOI at 9 a.m. ET on Wednesday.
Nick Perry - DE - Detroit (Mich.) Martin Luther King
Will announce around Signing Day at 3 p.m. ET at a local boys and girls club among Miami, Michigan, Michigan State and USC.

Either LSU and West Virginia will be the lucky school when he announces at Noon ET at his high school.
Michael Shaw - RB - Trotwood (Ohio) Trotwood-Madison
Long-time Penn State commit officially visited Michigan on the weekend of Jan. 18. He hasn't talked in weeks so we'll have to wait until 9 a.m. ET on Signing Day to find out where he signs.
Kye Staley - Ath - Guthrie, Okla.
Originally committed to Oklahoma State, but took an official visit to Arkansas on Jan. 25. Is 50/50 between the two schools and will make his final decision on Wednesday.
Hamani Stevens - C - Hemet, Calif.
UCLA has made up huge ground on Stevens when Oregon and BYU were thought to be the two favorites. Has postponed his announcement twice and will sign at 3:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
Tommy Streeter - WR - Miami (Fla.) Northwestern
Announcement will happen at 9 a.m. ET tomorrow. Farrell reports that Miami is favorite, with Oregon and South Carolina still involved.

Breaking news is Pryor won't be signing tomorrow. He's going to take an official to Penn State and most likely follow it up by going to Oregon. Was just on sirius.

Yep, I am seeing it all over Bucknuts boards, but I don't have a link. You got one from that Farrell guy Nas?

The only thing this circus is missing is a tent.

ESPNU must be ticked if this is true. They have a whole crew at Jeanette for tomorrow.

Very interesting.

Seems as though OSU's chances may go down beyond signing day. He'd been said to be 75-80% lean toward OSU in the last week or so......this decision obviously means that probably hasn't been the case.

This is getting a bit ridiculous but I do hope the kid makes the best decision for himself in the end.

*sigh* This kid needs to get over himself, make a decision and go with it. Isn't there a date by which high schoolers must declare for a college (letter or intent or whatever)?

I'm not 100% sure on how late a kid can go. As long as there's a scholarship on the table, it's probably en extended period of time. While the 6th is the first day players can sign their LOI (and about 99% of them do), it's not a one day thing in terms of eligibility. If need be, players can wait if they want to.

Ahhh! I'm not up on all that. I was thinking the 6th was the LAST day kids could sign. Still, the kid is putting all 4 schools in a bad situation. Do they hang on to a scholarship for him or let it go to someone else that does want to go there?

Yeah no doubt this will hurt OSU's chances. Normally, I am all about the hype and excitement and stuff like that, but to be honest this is getting to be a bit much. Gotta agree with Babe on that.

I have followed this very closely since the beginning, and I now have officially given in as to what I think he will do.

He has until sometime in early April to sign, I believe.

And, yes, the schools need to keep a scholarship open for him. Or give it to someone else and pass on Pryor. If he waits, the schools he doesn't pick will either have to settle on a lesser recruit or hold the scholarship for next year.
