There was a big thread about this in Fan Feedback, but it's gone now. Anyway, PPE said it's a way for him to offset operational costs. And, as he pointed out, once you read the first post of a thread, the post jumpers will take you right past the ad the next time.

Guess I missed it.......my wife and I went to Birmingham for a couple of days to go to a Art exhibit, have dinner, and visit family.

I'm sure there are many of us who'd be more than happy to donate to the cause if PPE is looking for some donations to offset them. PPE - do you have a paypal account we can xfer funds to?

That's what I suggested in the missing thread. He said he wants to try it this way for a while....though I still vote for allowing donations in addition to the ads. Heck, even if he got $50 bucks a month, it's something.

I click on some of the links so he can get paid. A few clicks here and there for about a min to register my comp and him to get credit then I close it. My adware blockers and AV don't let the sites put anything on my comp so I'm good.

And the ads have been mostly good about at least making the ad somewhat relevent to the topic

Very nice of you to offer to send him $50 a month.

I have a question... might have been discussed already... but is there anyway to make the ads open in a new window?

Not discussed, but it should be an option if you right click on the link in the ad.

If you guys use Firefox or even I think the newest Internet Explorer, you can click with your mouse's scroll wheel and open the page in a new tab. Works for the html links in the google ads, and works for the picture ads as well.

I'm assuming everyone has a scroll wheel on their mouse.

That works for me using IE. Opens the ad in a new tab.

You can also hold the Ctrl key down when you make the click and it opens in a new window on Firefox.

I haven't been able to come on much lately but I noticed the Ad Manager and thought it was annoying at first. However, I DO like Dters and know it isn't free for all of us. It doesn't bother me at all and like some users posts I just skip right over without noticing it now

Like others have said I am down with giving ya a little something again for the site.
