I can't WAIT for baseball!!!!!! My second favorite sport behind Football!!!

I'm TICKED though because I'm a big Sox fan (second favorite team behind the tribe) and here in Houston the Astros aren't selling individual Red Sox tickets...and they double/tripled the prices for the Red Sox and Yankees games...

Nice... I'm going to Florida next week. We're going to two Tribe games in Winter Haven, a Red Sox/Rays game in Ft. Myers and a Tribe/Yankees game in Tampa...

I'm a Reds fan but they're really gonna suck this year (not really hoping they do, it's just another lame attempt at reverse karma)

Here's to a Reds-Tribe World Series!

Of course, we all know how the outcome of that would be!

What's with all this Reds/Indians World Series talk? You know my Red Sox are going to make it back there from the AL.

And as far as the Reds in the NL....

It was not as exciting as it could have been, but they did win the game.......without Griffey Jr. , Dunn, Phillips and a few other players!

We will see how the pitching situation pans out!

I guess they rested them knowing it was an early spring training game....but still fun to watch...the weather was very nice!

The Reds should be fun to watch this year...lets hope anyway!

Nope, Reds will be better this year. We are finally grooming some nice young talent. The new ownership gets it, they just need a little more time to get there.

If a little time means 5 years then I agree.

BTW I'm sorry to hear that as of today the Reds have been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

The Reds do have some nice, young talent in Bruce, Votto, Bailey, etc. The question is whether or not Dusty Baker will EVER play them. There is no reason to start Scott Hatteberg at first over Votto, but I'll bet that Baker does. He doesn't like playing young guys, which is why he was a HORRIBLE fit for that job, IMO.

I disagree, I think Dusty gets a bad rap for that and supposedly ruining young pitchers. Things get quoted in the press, fans take off with it, I don't buy it. The GM on this team worries me more than Dusty about playing the young guys. Dusty has made it clear in MANY interviews this spring that he will play the young guys this year if they show they are ready.

No she means the players head for first base, rather than 3rd base, after they make contact.

Last Series victory? That would be 1997 ... they had three wins.

... which ironically is the same as the number of decades it's been since the Reds were last there.

Sorry, wrong on both counts. My dad was a little boy when the Poor old Tribe last won a World Series and the Reds won one in the 1990's.

And that means what now?? Eric Davis has been retired a long time, I dont see him being able to help The poor ole Reds this year. Reds have some good young talent but it is going to take few more years to really be a contender.

Yeah, that choke job last year for the tribe was fabulous!! LOL. I've seen three World Series wins in my lifetime with the Reds, wouldn't trade it for nothin'. It's fantastic!! Maybe someday you all will experience that, I kind of doubt it though.

Oh, and this thread isn't for smack, although you guys can never help yourselves. I say Poor old Tribe in one out of twenty Indians threads and you guys can't stay off one Reds thread or a thread where some of us are talking about them.

You complain about smack yet you ran the"when was the last Indians WS victory".. pot meet kettle.

Also I wasnt smacking, I was responding to you smacking and was merely pointing out that the thread is about this years upcoming season, the Tribe is thought to be a contender, is the Reds??

This was a general baseball thread, didnt realize it was for Reds fans only, sorry if it bothers you that the Reds are terrible right now and have been for quite awhile. Hell, I hope they do turn it around for your sake and the rest of the Reds fans on this board. I would love to see the Reds do well , as long as they arent playing the Tribe in the series.

Nice twisting, I was responding to the smack, didn't start it. You might have missed where I said "or a thread where we are talking about them". I know you didn't, you just want to make it look like something it wasn't, which is what you normally do and why I generally ignore you.
