Did anybody else see that game? KSU at Akron with the MAC regular-season title on the line. KSU was up 58-55 and inbounding. They get the ball in and Mike Scott takes the ball with no foul being called. Akron gets the ball away and hits a three, tying the game at 58. Al Fisher takes the inbounds, goes down court and hoists a three with 6 seconds left to win the game. Amazing finish to the game. The MAC tourney starts this week and moves to The Q later in the week for the final three rounds. Should be a fun tourney, four good teams in KSU, Akron, Western Michigan and Ohio.

I met all the University of Buffalo players this year, and was hoping for big things because they were all talking big, but they flopped hard.

However, they do only have 1 senior, so next year they should be very good, but it was disappointing to see them blow so much this year. Oh well...next year will be better.

keep an eye out for the Niagara Purple Eagles in the tourney. Theyre going to give someone a run.

as for the MAC, boy Kent State is tough, but, beware Bowling Green (well maybe...they can stomp Kent St, but get trounced by Buffalo, so i dunno), Ohio is dangerous.

Should be an exciting tourney. If Kent State gets to the championship and loses, theres a slight chance the MAC could get 2 teams.

That finish was friken amazing,,wow! Good basketball for sure. I love tourney time and the MAC tourney shouldn't disappoint. I am kinda torn since Akron got me into MAC sports and I now attend Kent.
I guess I will pull for the ZiPS since I know you are a huge Kent fan log. We have gone back n forth since I have been on here hehe. Can't stop now

Small correction, all 4 rounds are now held at the Q in Cleveland and start this Wednesday. Teams 5-12 that don't get that first round bye are pretty s.o.l. having to play 4 games in 4 days.

It would be nice to see the Bobcats get hot and make some noise but I just don't see it happening. Not enough leadership from the HC but they might have the best 1-2 inside punch in the MAC with Leon Williams and Jerome Tillman.

Really looking for Ohio to finally put it all together. They probably have the most talented starting 5 in the MAC but can't seem to stay out of their own way most of the time. They post OCC wins against Maryland and George Mason and then turn around and lose to EMU and BG?

If Leon Williams is allowed to play inside (at times MAC refs call games like it's flag football), I like them as the darkhorse.

The potential semi-final match-up with Kent would be a great one.

Congrats to Kent on the regular season title. You guys think the BG game cost Kent their at-large bid if they bow out of the tourney?

The talk on ESPN is that Kent is in as an at-large even if they lose in the tourney, but it'd be really close, IMO. Their RPI is pretty good (low 30s before yesterday's game with Akron who was in the high 70s) and they have a win over a top-25 team, but with what happened to Akron last year I'd rather not take the chance and just have them win the tourney and get a better seed.

Yeah, I think Kent was probably rooting for Ohio not to lose the games it did late in the year. It would have moved the Bobcats over to the other side of the bracket (as the #3) seed and made their run to the championship game (which will probably wrap up the at large) a bit easier.

I think it's going to be Kent, Ohio or Akron winning it. Miami has been hot but I don't think they can win 4 games in a row. Western had the luxury of beating up on all the weak West Division teams and aren't quite as good as their record might indicate IMO.

What's kind of sad is the #3 seed (Akron) probably has the easiest road to the championship. They play either CMU or NIU in their opener and then most likely see WMU or EMU.

Kent plays the winner of BGSU/Toldeo, both of which beat them in the regular season and then probably see Miami (one of the hottest teams late) or Ohio in the semi's.

Kent 62 Toledo 41 - 8 minutes and some change left... It's hard to believe Toledo trailed 30-29 with 1 minute to go in the 1st half.

Have mercy on the Redhawks and let them win if they advance past Ohio tonight. After all you guys have an at-large all but wrapped up.

I actually hate the draw for the MAC tourney. The East is so much better than the West that is punishes KSU a little bit. Its not a knock on Western Michigan, who is a good team, but they'd be fighting with OU and Miami in the East. Realistically, Akron has the easiest road to the title game, rather than Kent, the #1 seed. But, you play what you are given. Both Miami and OU scare me. I think OU has more talent, but I really just don't like seeing Miami in the postseason tourney, because it always seems like they have an upset in them somewhere.

Also, I'm not 100% certain that KSU has an at-large secure. I think if they get to the MAC title game, they are in. If they lose to OU/Miami, its questionable, IMO. I think they get in, but I'm not certain.

I'm hoping the Mike Scott that showed up tonight for the Flashes shows up for the rest of the season. He was amazing tonight. I'm really going to miss him and Q next season.

I listened to the tail end of the Kent/Toledo game on my way home from work. From what they were saying Kent was dominating. I would love to have a Akron/Kent rematch for the tourney championship. It would be sweet if Kent got the at-large and Akron would also get in Akron/Kent games are always a battle (for the most part) and I think that would be a great championship game.

I'd love to see an Akron-kent final.
With Akron winning of course.
Those games are always exciting.
Even though they lost the final last year, that Akron-miami game was incredible. Good stuff that MAC tournament is.

Definitely a heartbreaker with the missed free throws and Pollitz had a great look to tie at the end of the game. I hate to see his career end.

The officiating was terrible, not crying at all as Miami got their fair share of calls if not more in their favor at the end to be honest. It just amazes me that MAC officials are only getting worse with each passing year. I hope they have a better crew for tonights game.

That was a great game. I just got home. When the game ended, I couldn't force myself to leave. I sat there, watched the awards ceremony, the MAC Tourney team, MAC tourney MVP, cutting down the nets, etc. It was amazing. We're going dancin'!!!

Thank you, Kent State! Glad they beat Akron, because now that's a one bid conference, opening up another at-large possibility for Kentucky lol.

Kentucky's in...

I guarantee

TopDawg..as a fellow longtine UK fan, how weird is it to finally consider this group as a sweet 16 team - and that's going out on the edge with this motley crue.
