I made a trip to Busch Gardens today to see Herman's Hermits! One of the many bands that were called the British Invasion back in the day! It was actually a really good show, the last time that I seen them was back in the 60's at the Ohio State Fair! Has anyone else besides myself enjoyed this band growing up, I know I am showing my age!  I love the version of Henry the Eighth, as well as a few other songs they made famous back then!

Peter Noone has a great voice. I never heard it called bubble gum music. I always liked mrs brown

I think it is more like music from the Archies, Donnie Osmond, and maybe even the Monkees!
But then again, it has been too long, so I am not sure! 
I do know it was not Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, or Carlos Santana!

The show I seen today was good......Herman's Hermits are pretty good....I should have not called them bubblegame material...my bad!

What about the Oneders, weren't they bubblegum... Oh, never mind, they were a fictional band for the movie.  All that stuff was before my time, but growing up in the 70's and 80's, I heard alot of it with my mom in the car listing to Magic 105 ??? So I have an appreciation for it.

It is what I call a "Tommy Boy" song...one of those songs you never really admit to liking, but when you hear it on the radio you don't change the channel and at some point start singing along.

I have always like that song, along with some other songs from that era. I've always loved The Righteous Brothers as well, and one of my favorite songs, which I haven't admitted to until now, is "Crimson and Clover" by Tommy James and The Shondells.

Neil maybe.....not the others. Sedaka was a late 50's guy with a nice string of hits in the early 60's....then wrote and produced, then made a comeback of sorts in the early 70's with songs like "Laughter in the Rain" ......another one of those "Tommy Boy" songs I mentioned.

They gave us a double whammy with those people!
Not only did we get to listen to them on the radion, they came out with a stupid show, so we got to watch them on televison as well.
I do have to admit, that one chick in the band was pretty hot.....but that little redhead kid and Dave Casidy made me want to put my head in the toilet more then once!

Are you thinking of Susan Dey? She's still hot. I met Danny Bonaduce, we chatted for a while... He even made fun of his colorful past. He seemed like a decent guy until he totally reamed out a friend for giving him a puppy for his birthday. She was in tears by the time it was over. Okay, so you don't want a dog, at least be nice about it. Certainly no need to ream out a friend and make her cry in front of strangers. It was sad and embarrassing.

Mrs. Brown you have a lovely daughter!
That was certainly one of the hightlights of the concert, but when the band played "Henry The Eighth" the crowd was all standing and singing...I swear it could be heard throughout the entire park.....and that park covers a lot of ground these days!
It was a fun event.....a show I will not forget for a long time!
Concerts are always the best of times......live music is excellent, to say the least!

Bubblegum music was a selective batch of songs which appealed to early teenage girls and was barely tolerated by the remaining humans.
Damn disco was superior to bubblegum music.
