I have NFL Network but I'd rather be tasered in the groin and have to gargle with razor blades and wash it down with battery acid than listen to Bryant Gumbel.

Having NFL Network and actually getting the game are two different things. I believe the cable companies have NFL Network but are barred from showing the game. I'm not sure why, I just remember it happening last year for me.

Would love a Thanksgiving Day game. I personally don't see any reason for Savage to renegotiate Winslow's contract this year. Next year, maybe. Reseeding so a division winner can travel to a Wild Card stadium? You tell 'em, Rooney.

It would have to be on NFL Network. The Lions and Cowboys always get home games on CBS and Fox on Thanksgiving...

If your in the Cleveland Viewing area, it doesn't matter. Even when the games are NFL Network only, they still make it available on broadcast TV in Cleveland.

OAKLAND CORNER NOT ON BROWNS RADAR: Although the Raiders and Browns have exchanged e-mails about a possible trade for Oakland cornerback Fabian Washington, it doesn't sound as if a deal is in the works. The Browns were told that Oakland has an offer of a second-round pick on the table for the former No. 1 draft pick. The Browns, of course, do not have a pick available higher than the fourth-round and they are not even sure they would give that up for Washington.
This is off subject, but is also a major pet peeve of mine - the dude is not a former #1 draft pick. He is the former #23 draft pick. Yes it he was a first rounder, but say that not that he was the former #1 pick. Alex Smith was the #1 pick that year....argh
Now back to Turkey Day - that'd be way cool to have a game that day. It is the one week I'm back in Cleveland during the season. I wonder how ticked my family will be that I'll be spending Thanksgiving with ya'll instead of them

We play the Cowboys some time this year, who's to say we don't play them then?

We play them at home. The will have a home game on Thanksgiving, so it can't be them...

Because the article is about the Browns HOSTING a Thanksgiving Day game...Dallas always hosts on Thanksgiving as does Detroit.

My concern has nothing to do with Gumbel. I enjoy football all the way around, and will put up with just about any baffoon to watch some.
The problem is, Armstrong cable is too damn cheap to air the live games. We have NFL Network, but they black out all their games. How lame.
I remember the first game they had, a message scrolled across the screen saying, to paraphrase, that we can watch our teams on the local station every Sunday.
So when the Browns and Steelers played, you'd think we'd at least get to see "our teams." Hell no, they blacked it out as well. I'd hate to have to go to a bar on Thanksgiving to see the Browns play. I'd be pissed.

when they say number one pick, they mean first rounder, it's always been like that...
usually when you talk about the first guy taken, they usually stick the word "overall" before number one...
as far as a thanksgiving game would go, that would rock, and if we host it, i am totally going... i'm guaranteed to be coming home, not to mention that would make an awesome football weekend... thursday night browns game, good college ball friday, and don't forget boys and girls, ohio st and michigan that saturday
i am all for a thanksgiving game

just clicking, lebron. BTW, are the goalie pads put away until fall, or do you tend the pipes into summer?
hahaha, no way man, i have been playing year round since i was 13...
once i hit 7th grade, i finally stopped playing baseball (i should have stopped playing when i was 6, i love watching baseball, but jesus, that is the most boring sport you can play)
i just picked up new skates today too, i really took my last pair to town, i blew the boot right out of the cowling of both skates, the first one popped out months ago, but i just kept playing because it didn't bother me, but when both went, i had to finish up 30 minutes of a skate playing like i was on bare feet
a buddy of mine works at a pro shop, but the manager wouldn't let him heat-mold my skates, because he was afraid the cowling would melt, so he told me to just put the skates on when i get home, and don't take them off until i get to bed
so i'm sitting here in basketball shorts, with my damn skates on, i feel like a canuck...
but yeah, i've a boatload of hockey this month... i'm on 2 men's league teams, and a 3rd i'm helping out because they lost their goalie to injury
and i've been doing 3on3 hockey, as well as a sunday night coach's skate
good stuff, for sure.

I know what it means, it just annoys me for some reason. Always has.
I think that the OSU/Michigan game is on the Sat before Thanksgiving - but a great football week nonetheless. Would be a blast to be able to do both while in town.

It does and it doesn't, I was neglecting the "Hosting" part. I was just thinking that they could possibly play in a Thanksgiving game.

The only reason I can think of is maybe that's the only one on the west coast in week one and since they start at 10:15, that was was their only choice...
that is the second game, your absolutly right, that game is for the west coast views, Raiders / Broncos is a big game on the west coast,

Only if you care about either team - I'm on the west coast and couldn't care less about that game. But then again, outside of Seattle and San Diego, there isn't much on the left coast football-wise worth watching.

That's because you don't get Cleveland games weekly in Texas. I go to the bar sometimes to watch, but I don't want to go on Thanksgiving. The Thursday has nothing to do with it. I'm busy with my family and my wife's for the holiday, and don't feel like spending my holiday in a bar.

A bar is usually the best place to spend a holiday. Who wants to spend a whole day with in-laws?

The only thing in this article that Iike is the Winslow re-signing. I won't be able to watch a thanksgiving game from my Grandma's and will have to tape it. I wanted Fabian Washington and I liked the potential reseeding rule.

I don't mind spending time with my family for holidays. I have plenty of other days of the year to spend doing other things.
