LMAO at the "Just like in Madden" comment... what a nit.

I have no doubt Phil will re-work K2's contract to keep him in Cleveland for at least the next 5 years. I wouldn't commit any longer than that with his knees. As for his comments about the Brownies contending for a SB, eh, maybe. Our schedule is a lot tougher this year and DA will have to improve drastically over his late season slump from 07. My prediction is the same 10-6 record but this will be the year we get the Stoolie monkey off our backs and win the division.

I want a home playoff game this season!

He should have stood up more for DA IMO. He just kinda let them talk about his QB that sent him to the pro bowl.

One might argue it was Braylon, Kellen and JJ that sent Derek to the Pro Bowl.

I see it as KW acted like he didnt like the question or the way that guy was pushing his point, so KW said a genaric responce and moved on, everybody knows, even DA himself and he's stated it over & over again he does have to improve, but who dosent if were gonna take that next step, KW was being the bigger person, because if he would have spouted or given a smart responce, that it would have gotten twisted into KW has a Miami attitude still he's still inmature...sometimes it's better to answer quick & move on.

I didnt like the continued contract talk, thats KW buisness, ask & move on dont dwell on it, in my eyes that was an interview one would see in a first year broadcasting school, the announcers were teribble, and the interview was pointless,

I would argue that. I would also add the o-line.

imagine that...it turns out that a QB needs an OL and receivers to be good...I would've never guessed it

Not if your name is Charlie Frye.

I also think that the Browns have ZERO Pro Bowlers on offense if Mo Carthon is calling the plays.

Maybe there was no way to respond without sounding like a homer, and KWII knows how the media will take something and run with it if you give them anything. So it's best to just shrug it off and try to move the conversation forward.

Last thing you want to do is open mouth and insert foot, and create animosity in the locker room for something that came out wrong, or was mis-interpreted.

Two things..One there was nothing he could really say because what Rich and Jamie were talking about wasn't made or speculation it happened, DA fell apart. What do you want KW2 to say? "Man that was fine, we'll get um next year".

Two, maybe KW2 didn't pimp DA too much because he knows something we don't...

So does anyone else want to punch Jamie Dukes in the face?

And that is where K2 has improved the most. You can tell that he has changed his ways and really learned a lot of humility from the past few seasons. Let your play speak for you. Don't throw anyone under the bus. I think he handled it very well. It was almost like he wasn't even in the room with the way they were carrying on. He just sat back and let 'em speak and then answered the next question.

That's about the same as them adding Hadnot and Orr to our additions.

I love the player and person he's grown into. I also really enjoyed the parking lot one handed, back hand catches.

Agreed, K12.... although I'd pick a minor bone with you about the word "humility."

Instead, I'd call it "professionalism."

K2 has never been humble. In many ways, he shouldn't be expected to be. When you KNOW you have game, and can play among the elite of your chosen profession, that comes from confidence... and a keen understanding about how you stack up against your job's best.

In my eyes, that's the antithesis of humility. Some might call it arrogance, but I've never attached that label to Kellen Winslow II.

Since his Miami U "Soldja" flare-up 'til now, I've never seen him as anything other than pointedly candid and brutally honest... whether it's is in a locker room after a heartbreaking loss or in a scripted setting like we saw on NFLN this week.

Let's remember- the same guy who shouted, " I'm a f-in' SOLDIER!" was the same guy who broke down in tears in a Browns locker room saying, "I love these guys" after a particularly gutting showing by his comrades-at-arms.

Dude wears his heart on his sleeve... and I'll always respect that- because when you see him, you can trust what you see... and know what you're getting. From one minute to the next.

If anything, his demeanor on NFLN has shown that he's learned things other than the playbook and which side of his face is more photogenic. It shows that he's learning the ins and outs of being a "public figure," and is adapting his approach to accomodate all the new scrutiny.

Believe me- the ego is still there... that's what fuels his desire to win, his insane dedication, and his absolute NEED to be the best in history. If he had less of an ego, we'd be seeing less on the field, trust me.

As I see it, he's finally "learned the outside game"...

1. don't downgrade yourself
2. don't throw your team (or teammates) under ANY bus
3. think before you speak on camera.

From potential cancer to potential team leader... it's been a fun journey watching Kellen Winslow II get from there to here.

But trust me- "humble," he ain't.

People keep bringing up the whole "tougher schedule" excuse. True, it's much tougher than last year. BUT, the rest of the AFCN has to play the same schedule, and Pittsburgh has an even tougher one than we have. SOMEBODY has to win the division, and playing those opponents will only help us in the playoffs.

I really enjoy reading your posts. You and ddub tend to get a little long winded , but damn man, that was very well said.

I think that K2 is possibly my favorite player on the team because of those reasons you stated and because I understand why he comes across the way he does sometimes. The breaking down in the locker room really said a lot.

Back on topic: I'm surprised no one has touched on this at all, but this is the thing that stuck out to me the most in that interview. Jamie Dukes SHAMELESS questioning of the Browns Front Office in an indirect way...taking the interview in a direction it had absolutely no business going at all ... making it seem like he had some inside knowledge of the Browns' financial books ... and at the same time trying to tell KWII that he might get screwed over because the Browns chose to sign a player that Dukes obviously felt had much more little value than K2.

That really pissed me off. Dukes is a bum. Can't stand that guy.

On a side note, the video of Winslow catching balls one handed is pretty sic. If no one has watched it, you should.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Yeah, it's a disease of mine. I get started, and can't seem to stop.

Agreed about Jamie Dukes. That big tub-o-goo should only be used for comic relief. He sucks as an interviewer, and ain't exactly easy on the eyes, either. It seems like he's always had a case of "the hates" for the Browns. He started to change his tune late last season, but it's always there just beneath the surface.

And yeah... that footage of K2 catching balls in the parking lot should be required viewing for all Browns fans.
