I DON'T know that right now.

It was a simple statement. You're making it more difficult that it is. I simply said I want the best guy to play that will give us the best chance to win.

That is all I said, why are you making it into more than that?

Because you also added the implication that the FO and coaches are somehow biased against Quinn because Anderson is the starter ..... which is the same position he ended last year in ..... and frankly, is as it should be.

We don't know what we have in Quinn. None of us do ... and the team probably doesn't know either. However ..... I do know this. Originally the plan was for Quinn to watch a year, then (at the very least) compete for the starting job. That plan is now on hold. It could be beacause of Anderson ...... but it could also be that there are serious questions about Quinn as well.

All I said was I want the right guy to play. And if the FO makes Anderson the starter just because he played well at times last year and received an extension, while Quinn outplays him all camp, I will be upset. Same as the reverse, I don't want Quinn to play because they decide to give him the job, and want him to go out and win the job.

That didn't say that I think Quinn is or will be better. That just says the FO better put everything aside and make a good football decision.

DP17,

FWIW I understood your point perfectly.

This is just such a charged debate that people are getting pretty antsy.

In the end...it's all good for the Browns and the fans.

Again ...... how do YOU decide which guy is the "right" guy?

I think that you, and many others are looking at this backwards. Anderson isn't the starter because he received a new contract ....... he received the new contract because he is the starting QB. You're putting egg before chicken, when chicken goes before egg.

And the same could be said about each and every position on the football team. (but isn't)

Plus ..... how will you know if they have made a good "football" decision? lol Man .... even if you go to every single "open to the public" day of training camp ......... you'll still miss a whole lot more than you'll see.

OK .... how about cart before horse, when horse goes before cart?

That better? lol

Kind of, but then someone would make the claim that a horse could push a cart.

Yeah .... when it comes to the Browns ...... I think that I've seen just about everything ...... till the next thing that leaves me shaking my head rolls around ........

Well, I'm going to have to put my faith in the FO and RAC to make the right decision. Hearing Savage's comments right now makes me feel that the decision is predetermined unless Anderson completely blows it. Which I personally don't feel is the right way to go about it.

Do you know that the chicken is before the egg? Errr, n/m, let's get back to football......

Derek earns the chance to go into the offseason and camp as the starter, but IMO doesn't earn him the starting job for '08. I want the best guy to play, period. If Quinn looks better, I don't want Savage saying, "well we didn't give him a new contract for him to sit on the bench."

I don't care what he does, if that's where he belongs, then oh well. Deal with it.

None of us will see what they see. All you will have is what you see. Game film from preseason may be more important that practice film since it's more along the lines of what is going to happen in the regular season. I know I sound like a broken record, but all I'm trying to say is for them to make the right decision based on which QB will give us the best shot to win. I don't like how Phil has worded it this offseason, which pretty says his mind is made up already without seeing anything in '08.

Let them play, first. Fair, isn't it?

Toad: You can tell me.....actually you are telling everyone.......that I don't know what I'm talking about in regards to the touch thing.

That'd be exactly what I was saying, IF this were an adversarial arguement. Fortunately for both of us, all I REALLY said was that I'm surprised we so completely disagree about his touch. If you want to take it as an attack on your football intelligence, well, I can't do anything about that other than to tell you to go back and read my quotes. In fact, I also suggested that you might just be defending Anderson's touch as a way to fight the good fight against those you perceive as ditching Anderson just to promote Quinn. Basically, that's a way for me to try and rationalize why you can't see what I see

Outside of that, I actually think I've been defending Anderson more than ditchin' him, which is tough for me to do since I'm still not a true believer in him yet.

***Gordon, I really didn't think you could be this stOOpid, but you exceeded my expectations. Wussy.
