You'll have to click on the link for the pics. I didn't think this belonged in the Smack Shack, but if it does, feel free to move it... Leinart facing scrutiny over Internet picsby FOXSports.com Updated: April 1, 2008, 7:02 PM EST Matt Leinart is used to the spotlight. But this is probably something he wishes wasn't so public. The Cardinals' quarterback is in a bit of hot water this week after pictures surfaced on the Internet of the former USC star partying at his Phoenix-area home. One of the pictures shows Leinart in what appears to be a hot tub with four young women. Another shows him holding a beer bong, with a girl crouching at the other end. Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt said Tuesday that he was "disappointed" in the quarterback, according to a report on the Web site of the East Valley Tribune. "Matt called me Monday morning and we spoke for a while," Whisenhunt said in a statement, according to the Tribune. "I reiterated to him the type of behavior that we expect at all times from our players. He understands that as well as the level of scrutiny that he's under because of who he is. It's being handled internally. "I was disappointed but at the same time have no doubts about his commitment to this football team or his ability to lead it." Leinart, who began last season as the Cardinals' starter, was limited to just five games after he broke his collarbone. Before Leinart went down with the injury, he was already splitting time with veteran Kurt Warner after he struggled in his first few games. In the five games he played, Leinart completed 60 of 112 passes, with two touchdown passes and four interceptions. His quarterback rating was a scant 61.9. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7978376/Leinart-facing-scrutiny-over-Internet-pics

Doesn't sound like he did anything illegal. Hell, you could probably find a ton of guys in the NFL who do this kind of stuff. Does it put Leinart in a bad light? Eh, maybe it shows he's kind of immature, but he wasn't hurting anyone, wasn't breaking any laws. Here are the pics (they're with the story):

The only thing I feel is jealous, cause I'M not in the at hot tub!!!

What's the big deal? C'mon! It's an NFL player doing something completely legal! How often do we hear about that?
If it had been a Bengal, this would have been front-page material!

The media makes it a big deal, as for as the NFL and Arizona goes, it just goes against their image and conduct policies they try to portray, knowing that many of the players are role models to children, they would prefer if this stuff didn't get out.
And in today's world of technology, the only way to keep it from getting out is to not do it.
I also would be willing to bet that if the party wasn't at his place, it wouldn't have as big of a deal. It's different in people eyes to be a guest versus being the host of a party like this.

He's a good looking dude, a NFL QB, rich and young.....if he didn't have four girls in his hot tub I would think there was something wrong. That's what you're supposed to be doing in that situation.
I don't get why some people are shocked at this.

Why, he was at home, in the confines of his surroundings. No drinking and driving, no fights at a strip club...nothing like that at all. I would much rather somebody throw a house party than to try and paint the town red (No Pacman jokes please!)

Umm who would not have gotten in that hot tub?
The price for being a big name I guess. You get all the goods, but people trash you every chance they get.

You know .... if I'd gotten in trouble for every time I have had 4 cute, young girls in my hot tub ............
Oh wait .... I don't have a hot tub.
I gotta get me one of those.

You'll also need his looks and money to attract four cute girls to your non-existant hot tub. And if you do pull all that off, take pictures.

"ohhh no! Matt Leinart is holding a beer bong! He's never going to amount to anything in his life and the real world is going to kick his ass!"
The NFL may very well kick his ass but that's for another discussion.
He's just living the life of a 20something right now...no biggie. Move along.

Ammo, the words are right, but the delivery is all wrong to be Fletch. Remember, red face, straining neck muscles, and a little spittle wouldn't hurt.

Actually, ndutyme, if you notice, YTown didn't say anything about his "devastating" good looks. He mentioned his "devatsating" good looks, which we all know means "made up".

I don't see what the big deal is............had he been doing something illegal, then you have a story.
But drinking some beers and hanging out with some hotties.........what is the big deal.

Maybe he just told Matt that he expects him to act with a little more tact, a little more mature than holding these kind of parties. I'm not saying I agree with him, just that maybe that's the angle he's taking.
I'm guessing it was just Whisenhut saying "Matt, if you ever have hot girls over again and don't call me, you're off this team"

I thought it was very gentleman like of him to hold the bong. I'm not sure I've ever seen a bigger non-story. Can you imagine the stuff Joe Namath probably did?

I actually saw this yesterday but didn't think this was a big deal. The guy isn't doing anything illegal (as long as his women are of age), and think the guy is catching heat for stuff most everyone enjoys. Letting go in the safety of your own home.
Athletes and celebrities are always in the spotlight, so everything they do is scrutinized and publicized. They probably sometimes forget this, and end up looking bad when someone catches them doing anything even close to wrong. If they guy wants to have fun, so be it. As long as he's not doing anything illegal, ie. drinking and driving, doing drugs, providing alcohol to minors, etc.
Like him or any other player weren't doing these things in college anyways.
