Preseason includes national TV game Jeff Walcoff, Staff Writer 04.03.2008 The Browns' preseason schedule has been announced and it includes the team's return to national television.
The Browns' 2008 preseason will kick off between Aug. 7 and 11 when the New York Jets come to Cleveland Browns Stadium -- a rematch of a regular season game last year that the Browns won, 24-18.
The Browns will then play the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants at 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 18 as part of Week Two of the preseason. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN's Monday Night Football.
The teams will meet again when the Browns will play host to the Giants during the regular season.
In Week Three of the preseason, the Browns will head to Ford Field in Detroit for the annual Great Lakes Classic between Aug. 21 and 25. The Browns suffered their only preseason loss in 2007 to the Lions, 23-20, at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
To close the preseason, the Chicago Bears will venture to Cleveland Browns Stadium for a game either Aug. 28 or 29. The Browns defeated the Bears, 19-9, in the '07 preseason finale at Soldier Field.
Exact dates and times for the first, third and fourth preseason games will be announced in the coming weeks.
WMMS 100.7 FM is the flagship station for the Cleveland Browns Radio Network. WKYC TV-3 (NBC) is the preseason home for Cleveland Browns football.
Cleveland Browns 2008 season tickets are on sale now. Call (440) 824-3434 or toll free (888) 891-1999 to purchase seats today or purchase online at ClevelandBrowns.com. Cleveland Browns 2008 single game tickets will go on sale in July (date TBD).
The NFL preseason will kick off, as it always does, in Canton, Ohio in the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Game, which this year will pit the Indianapolis Colts against the Washington Redskins.

NICE! I love getting each bit of info that brings us that much closer to the next season.
And a Monday Nighter at that!

Don't even tell me they're going to count a MNF in preseason as one of our prime-time games this season.
Yeah, it's nice to get some recognition so we get one, but I'd rather it be when it means something.
JMHO
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

Does anyone know when the regular season schedule will be released?

Darn ... In the regular season, the Browns don't play any further west than Cincinatti. I was hoping for something closer in pre-season. They don't get much further west than Detroit here ...

In about 2-3 weeks.
I hope Bernie does the color commentary for the preseason games again, he is insightful, and so brutally honest it's hilarious.

I would pretty much guarantee at least one reg season primetime game this year considering how we played last year and how good everyone expects us to be this year! I just hope at least one will be at home. I have yet to be to a Monday nighter at home. I was at the famous Couch boo game on Sunday night.
Our honor defend, we will fight to the end, for OHIO! GO BUCKS!

How come you don't post your location (even a generalization) in your avatar area? I'm assuming that you reside a few paces left of Cincy.

We play a couple of tough D's in the preseason. I just wanna come out uninjured.

Nice to see we get a home Monday Nighter during the preseason. I'm sure that should carry over into the regular season schedule as well. I'll have to get some tix to that one. EDIT: I must have misread, it doesn't say it's at home, but if we play the Jets and Chicago at home, then the game is in NY.

I don't care if we have a primetime game, or they make us play Saturday afternoon, I just want to win, win, and win some more.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

Right on! Lets just hope we get the big daddy of primetime games this year: The Super Bowl!
