Yes I know...some of us still believe in reading. I'm just looking for any recommendations. I read more non-fiction than fiction, but I'm open to most anything. These are my recent recommendations...
Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetimines - Very troubling at parts, but well written. I'm planning on reading his dad's version, Beautiful Boy, soon.
Bringing Down the House - Read the book before you see the movie. It makes you want to gamble.
Confessions of a Tax Collector - A funny story about a man in the early 90's who takes a job as a revenue agent for the IRS.
Anyone have anything interesting?

Behold the Pale Horse -very hard to find The Iceman Inheritance-equally hard to find The Illuminati The Egyptian Book of the Dead (The Book of Coming Forth by Day and by Night)-The book in which most religious dogma was plagiarized...including the 10 commandments!

It's a very good book that allows you to better yourself during the good times and bad times. If you ever follow any of his sermons on tv or live, You will hear many of his teachings in the book. I value it and endorse it for any and all who seek to find some spiritual peace within his or herself. I also read Hope for A Troubled Heart by Billy Graham.. ...very good also....

I don't get this. My old man told me about this book, and about how "hard to find" it was. So one day I went to Borders just to see if they had it in stock; and I "found" like 10 copies of the book.

I refuse to read Harry Potter or watch the movies. I hear they are very good and that would cause me to read them non-stop. I love good books but when they are in a series I get very impatient waiting for the next book to comeout.
In all seriousness I am think of getting the series. My son hates to read and I think these books would help him with that.

Some adult books I like are:
Anything by John Grisham Mike Lupica Bringing Down the House was very good.
I have to go now, I'll say more later.

I wish it was that easy when I was looking for it...I had to order it, but this was back in 94. It took 2 months to get it

Well Chandler, here is my abbreviated list: One Door Away From Heaven-Koontz Fear Nothing-Koontz The Odd Thomas series-Koontz The Door to December-Koontz Sole Survivor-Koontz Watchers-Koontz
Honestly, pretty muc anything written by John Grisham, Tom Clancy novels (the ones written just by him) and Dean Koontz IMO are money.
The Alex Cross series by James Patterson is also very good.

Repost: If you're into historical fiction, three I would heartily recommend are "Raptor" and "The Journeyer" by Gary Jennings, (he also wrote Aztec,) two fantastic books. "Raptor" is about the exploits of an Ostrogoth hermaphrodite around 500 A.D., near the end of the Roman empire, and "The Journeyer" is about the exploits of Marco Polo. I'd also recommend "Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follet, this is about a cathedral builder in the mid 12th century. All of these books are excellent. "Shibumi" by Trevanian is a good book, as are "The Eiger Sanction" and "The Loo Sanction". IMHO, everyone should check out "Catch-22" by Joseph Heller, "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy by J. R. R Tolkien, and "The Bible" at least once during their lifetime.

Uncle Tom's Children by. Richard Wright.
I guess you could call it semi-fictional. All the more, one of the most moving books I've read to date.

I know this'll probably get some crap flung my way, but Oprah makes me wanna barf. Five gets ya fifty she ends up in the frackin' white house some day since elected office has become nothing more than a popularity contest. I just pray I'm dead by then.

I cant help it...the way you threw the bible in there with Catch 22 & the Lord of the Rings is classic.
I have been reading a bunch of Vonnegut lately. I got Slaughterhouse 5 on my trip to ireland last year and have been eating hsi stuff up ever since. Great socio political satiric commentary.
Other recent reads have been the "hitlers scientist" the "deadbeats" non-fiction, and and a sci-fi book called Aidan's Wall by a guy named Doug Bissette. Very interesting book.

I've been reading three books over the past few days, The Book which is a look at baseball strategy throughout the years and how much sense it makes statistically. The Office and Philosophy, a book continued from the other series that look at philosophy. Honestly, not that great, but re-reading the scenes from The Office is good for a chuckle. Lastly has been A Problem from Hell, which is Samantha Power's Pulitzer-winning look at genocide, the history of genocide, and American foreign policy toward it. Quite a good book so far, actually.

I'm getting towards the end of Southpark and Philosophy .
I think it's pretty good, and like you, it's nice reading about some of the better Southpark episodes.
