There are two kinds of dreams. There are dreams that we have while asleep and dreams that we have while we are awake. What is the connection between the two types? Both kinds of dreams are about the yearnings that are held deep inside us. Some of these desires are so secret that we dare not share them even with our closest friends. Those of us that dare to put our dreams down on paper are showing the courage to hope that they will come true.

What are some of the dream's you have had , or wish for?

And you think people are going to share them here?

Last night I dreamed about people with no arms, really big heads, and they were all eating spaghetti.

My sleeping dreams are almost always troubling.

I usually don't remember dreams, unless one bothers me so much I wake up suddenly. I sometimes dream that I'm on the roof of a skyscraper and can't get off safely and can't get back inside the building.

As for daydreams, I want to put out an album... not to be a rock star or any of that foolishness, but to stop wasting time and get it out there. The sad part is, it's quite do-able but...
it's something I've always wanted to do but don't get around to it.
I hate my procrastination, which is ironic since I was just preaching to ammo about the exact thing.

Over the past year or so I have had a series of dreams that were so disturbing that I woke and was bothered so much because I didnt know how they ended and would have to reason with myself to convince myself that it turned out ok.

All of the dreams involved water, or ice, or both and at some point me and every member of my family has went underwater or went through ice. In the first one my 8 year old daughter was sled riding and somehow got off the hill and ended up on a frozen pond. I told her to stay here she was at and not move but she go out of the sled and fell through the ice, in the second my wife and were driving near a lake and we came over some railroad tracks and the road was flooded. I told her not to try to drive through the water, she did anyways and w got washed out into the lake. After we floated around for a bit we went to the bottom of the lake. The last one I had my family and I were at some kind of hotel or something, but it was winter time and we were outside the hotel where there was some kind of frozen pond or large pool. . My son kept running around and I yelled at him to stop several times but he kept going and slipped into the pond and crashed through the ice. Every one of these dreams I jolted awake as soon as the person went underwater, so I didnt know how they ended and that bothered me terribly.

I have tried to just put these out of my mind as just dreams but they still continue to haunt me in real life. I have really became paranoid around water and ice. I get nervous to drive anywhere that the car could go off the road and god forbid if I come up to a flooded road.

How did I know you would be the one to pick up on that ??Yes it bothers me greatly that my kids have to be told something several times before they even pretend to listen, and I think subconciously I am worried that at some point it is going to come back to hurt one of them.

All legitimate concerns. It's funny how those things come out in such strange ways in our dreams.

I've been having the recurring tornado dream forever, it's not near as scary as it used to be though.

I went thru the 1973 Willard tornado and that summer went thru another in Flordia, so two tornados in one year being 11 was enough. I have tornado dreams every spring. there not as scary as they use to be.

I have dreams it seems like every night...and theyre always really boring.

Or they seem real, because theyre so uneventful. Like last night i was dreaming that i was going to class but couldnt find ANY of my sneakers, but when i finally did, they were in a place that I had put them (the cupboard ) so that i wouldnt lose them.

Thats the extent of the dreams I've been having. Theyre just like normal life, but with one small thing amiss. Sometimes not even that.

I wake up going...that was boring. Or ill think that my shoes are really in a cupboard, and ill have to find a pair to realize i was dreaming.

Its almost like...how you look back on a night you got really drunk and the night is hazy and segmented in ur memory.

If you write them down and hope, there is a 99.9% chance they are not going to come true. Write the dreams down, turn the dreams into goals, turn the goals into a plan, turn the plan into actions, turn the actions into personal change... that is the only way to accomplish your dreams unless it just falls in your lap and that's hardly something I'm willing to wait for.

As Einstein said, the definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. So many people are unwilling to change their actions, yet they expect their lives to change...

Sleeping Dreams: I discussed one of my reoccurring dreams in the now famous "Spill some useless facts about yourself..." thread. I was given the “2007 Too Much Information” award for my dream contribution in the “Wisdom of Dawgtalkers ”thread by Riddler. And yes, I'm very proud of that award from Riddler....it's on my mantle.

Day Dreams: My day dreams usually involve past Cleveland sports moments I'd change or future Cleveland sports championship thoughts. Sometimes I wonder what I'll think about in my spare time if ever the Browns, Indians or Cavs finally wins one.

I experienced a hurican down in Florida but it was a memorable experience. I went down to visit a GF who lived down on the gulf coast when I was 17. Sh used to come up to Cleveland every summer to stay with the her dad who lived accross the street from us so every summer we had a summer romance and then she returned to Florida. Well that summer she didnt come up to Cleveland because she was starting at University of FLorida, so her mom invited me down to stay with them for a week, under close supervision of course . Well while I was down there a hurricane was coming in and I helped them get the house all ready for what was supposed to be a minor hurricane. The day before the hurricane was supposed to hit her mom and stepdad drove down to Tampa to get their other daughter and bring her home from school, and they got stuck down there and couldnt get back. So two teens with raging hormones locked up in a house for two days with no electricity. Hey, we had to do something kill time Ahhh to be young again.

There is only one dream that I remember having multiple times. In this dream I am with my older brother. There is never anyone else in this dream. We are in our bedroom when we see a plane coming down right at us. We run out of the house just before the planes crashes into it. Half of the house is still standing up.

Make sense of that.

Last night I dreamt I was at a club with a guy I hang out with at the Browns bar during the season. We were chatting and he got up and started playing drums with the band. Then I was in a workshop with a bunch of guys and we were getting ready to leave. As we were walking out I fired my M-16 into a cabinet full of plastic bottles filled with yellow liquid. I'm pretty sure it wasn't urine because the guy in front of me took a bottle and drank from it, extolling its virtues... I don't know why I shot them, it was a complete brat moment. Next thing I know, I'm in the front yard of a farm house burying a bunch of little rocks and covering the hole with a big rock. Overall, it was a crappy night.

Stupid cold medicine.

My dreams tend to be of the very real/believable type.......meaning, most of the time after a dream I awake and truly believe my dream was real.

I usually get it figured out within 10 minutes of waking up, but not nearly always.

I do that sometimes, and then years later I will remember the dream and not be able to remeber if it happened in real life or if it was a dream.

Okay, that was funny when I first had the thought to type it, but now it seems lame. Oh well.....I aint deletin' it.

I have some REALLY weird dreams. It oftentimes bothers me when I wake up and remember bits and pieces of a dream, but I can't tie everything together as it occurred within the dream.

My most recent weird dream occurred about 2 months ago.....I was driving down a 2 lane highway and came upon this Jeep travelling real slow, and it was a wrangler type with no doors. I pulled beside it and saw a guy from work, and he had a large fish clutched underneath his left arm (and it's mouth was full of feathers) as he was driving. I yelled at him to see if he was okay, and he yelled that there was a car behind me so I needed to pass him and keep going. I sped up, and shortly thereafter I saw him in my mirror pulling to the side of the road. I pulled off as well, and backed up to his location.

When I arrived at his site, I got out and walked down the bank to a pond, where there were 2 other guys from work standing there on the edge of the water. He had just released his fish into the water, and I could see it and two other large fish swimming idly just offshore. All with feathers in their mouths.

I asked him what was going on, and he told me that the fish couldn't breathe because it had feathers in it's mouth......but that now it was okay.

If anyone figures that one out let me know and I'll describe the one I had a few years back where I returned to my Army barracks in Germany but couldn't walk up the stairs to the second floor because there was an ostrich on the landing blocking my path, and it kicked at me each time I tried to dodge around it.........and I had this dream SEVERAL years after leaving the Army.

Good luck with that......

Ok but why is that funny? What is the water represenative of?? Do I subconciously have a desire to drown my family? I think if that was the case I wouldnt have woken up feeling the way I did. I would have woken with a big

See, that's why it's lame, because I have to explain it.......

You ever see where someone uses a word, and then somebody doesn't know what the word means, so they say but maybe it means this instead.......??

A metaphor is a symbol, or some type of emblem that is representative of another thing. Sooooooo, I was saying it might be a symbol for something when THAT is exactly what a metaphor is.

God I hope that makes sense. I should have just deleted it.

Don't want to touch the fish or the ostrich do ya?

It is a symbol for something in the way. Perhaps there has been something that you have been wanting to say but haven't been able to whatever reason.
Honestly I have no clue. Just guessing.

I can't remember any of my dreams of note. It is rare that I dream anyway and usually it is something meaningless that I can't remember if it was real or not. One time I dreamt that it was Christmas and I got something awesome that escapes my mind right now. It wasn't Christmas but I forgot that and was kinda excited until I realized it was not Christmas. Once I had a dream where I got the Roster Update for Madden. And on more than one occassion I have dreamt that I did not have school. I wanted to punch someone in the face when I got up.

That's probly a good guess.......the ostrich being in the way. That dream was quite a few years ago now though, so it'd be hard to connect with anything perhaps.

I've been sick the whole weekend, and I know sometimes when your sick and running high fevers, like I was, you can dream some crazy stuff.

Unfortunately I usually don't remember what I dream about when I wake up, but I do remember Saturday night when I was running temps between 101-103. I was dreaming, I was awake and having trouble sleeping, tossing and turning because I was aching so bad from head to toe. I remember all kinds of crazy crap running through my head while I was lying awake.

I remember saying to myself in my head, "Why can't I sleep? I feel miserable, I'm tired, but I can't sleep. Did I forget something?" And all these crazy thoughts like was I turning in bed in rotation correctly, or I should be turning clockwise from left side, to my back, to my right side, to my stomach in order to fall asleep.

You better make sure Christy never sees that tape!!

Heres what I ound about Ostrich from dream moods http://dreammoods.com/cgibin/searchcsv.pl?method=exact&header=dreamsymbol&search=ostrich

Ostrich
To see an ostrich in your dream, suggests that you are not facing reality and living in a world of your own. You may be in denial or unwilling to accept a situation. Alternatively, the ostrich can symbolize truth and justice.

Fish
To see fish swimming in your dream, signifies insights from your unconscious mind. Thus to catch a fish, represents insights which have been brought to the surface. The fish is also an ancient symbol of Christianity and Christian beliefs. Consider also the common phrases "like a cold fish", "fish out of water" or something that is "fishy" about a situation. It may also imply a slippery or elusive situation.

To dream that you are eating fish, symbolizes your beliefs, spirituality, luck, energy and nourishment. It is food for the soul.

To see a dead fish, signifies disappointment and loss of power/wealth.

To dream of cooking fish, indicates that you are incorporating your new realizations with your spiritual feelings and knowledge. If you are cleaning fish, then it suggests that you are altering your emotional expression in a way that will be presentable to others. You are censoring yourself and not expressing how you completely feel.

Fish Market
To dream that you go to a fish market, signifies pleasure and joy.

To see decayed and rotting fish at the fish market, denotes distress that will come in the disguise of happiness.

Fisherman
To see a fisherman in your dream, suggests that you are trying to catch something in your waking life.

Fishhooks
To see fishhooks in your dream, refers to an idea or concept that you need to grasp. The dream may also indicate that you are getting hooked on something or being hooked in. You may be deceived into doing or believing something.

Fishing
To dream that you are fishing, indicates that you are confronting and bringing your repressed emotions to the surface. In particular, to dream that you are ice fishing, suggests that you are breaking through a hardened emotional barrier and confronting difficult feelings from your unconscious.

Consider the common phrase "fishing for compliments".

Fishing Rod
To see a fishing rod in your dream, represents your quest and exploration of your unconscious mind. You are ready to confront issues and emotions which you have suppressed.

Fishnet
To see a fishnet in your dream, indicates a fear of being found out or caught in the act.

Fishpond
To see a clear, well-stocked fishpond, foretells of profitable enterprises and great pleasures.

To see a muddy fishpond in your dream, denotes illness.

To see an empty fishpond, signifies that nearby enemies are lurking and on the prowl.

To dream that you fall into a clear pond, signifies good fortune and reciprocal love.

unrelated to you king.

The worst dream i EVER had in my life...I was about 11 years old (about 11 years ago) and I was standing in the middle of a desert (kinda like a desert storm type area) but it was all pitch black, so there wasnt details but i knew it was a desert in a foreign land.

So...at some point i hear some tanks...they start to head where i am and its no big deal, but they keep getting closer and louder. Then...after a while, they start firing, and they are loud and im hearing all these noises, and in my dream im seeing things like in looney toons when they get blown up by dynamite or beat up....like all the spirals and lightning bolt looking things...you know?

So...all this is happening, and im terrified so i wake up scared out of my mind. And i still hear the sound of the tanks and the firing. So now im crying at 11 years old, going holy snot my dream is real....sort of...there were tanks firing but now its just the sound and it wont go away, and there was yellow lights flashing around, so it was similar to the dream.

Well...later i found it was the garbage truck (is there an embarassed face?) making all the noise that i had heard, and the lights...the firing must have been the garbage truck backing up. Oh man.

To this day, any time i hear a noise that starts quiet and gets louder while im not controlling it will make me cringe. Its absurd but...man i was a mess, and those things still make me cringe and just act weird. I feel crazy.

worst dream i ever had

It has to start somehow
What better place than here?
What better time than now?"

Fishnet
To see a fishnet in your dream, indicates a fear of being found out or caught in the act.

Wow, that is amazing... when I see fishnets in my dreams, it usually does mean that I'm afraid of being caught in the act.

The only dream I've ever been able to fully define was one a college buddy of mine once told me about. He had the hots for this girl and had been trying to get her to go out with him for a long time.... after much persistence, she said yes but they weren't going out for 2 weeks. About 4 days after she said yes he told me about this dream he had every night since she said she would go out with him and this is how his dream went...

He was scared, didn't know why, but he was being chased by a good looking naked woman who wanted to kill him. He was running and running and in every dream, he ended up cornered... when the naked woman approached he would pull out a gun but it wouldn't fire. He would yank on the trigger but nothing would happen... then (and this is where I lost it)... the barrel would go limp like licorice... then he would wake up....

I was rolling on the floor... I had to ask him... so you have NO IDEA what this dream could mean? and with a straight face, he said, No.. no idea.

I've had some messed up dreams the past two nights, both dealing with having new, luxury apartments.

The one the night before I woke up on what felt like my bed was at the edge of the window and I would have fallen out if I rolled over, but it turned out there was actually a room in front of me, just an optical illusion.

Last night I had a dream that the cops were chasing someone around town and both cars ended up crashing into my apartment...then the renovations that came afterward included free flat-screen TV's.

Head scratchers for sure.
