You know what they should do in cases like this is for the judge to tell the people involved that they can no longer have kids and if they do it will result in an automatic violation of their parole or probation and they go back to jail.

I am not defending this person or what he did, its a travesty, but the man should enjoy the same rights as the rest of our prisoners..
One murderer is the same as another to me..That was my point...
He should have the right to a trial by jury/judge, be free of cruel and unusual punishment, and be treated the same as any other murder prisoner..

Fine, but you didn't say murderers, you mentioned policemen and firemen and soldiers and other such stuff.. .if we're talking about murderers, then you have more of a point.
Even the point you are making here I would take some exception too, such as gangbangers killing other gangbangers over drug territory... that is STILL not the same as beating a 2 year old child to death. Maybe the judicial system is supposed to be free of emotion, but I cannot be... not in a case like this. And I sort of hope I never can.

It's not that I don't care or am insensitive, I feel it's more important when we are dealing with legal issues that we treat people fairly...I don't care how a murdered happened...A murder is a murder is a murder...I want everyone held to same standards and if deemed guilty punished in a similar manner.....
I exercise my bill of rights everyday, and I feel other people, no matter how evil, should be allowed to do the same.The KKK should be allowed to peaceably assemble, and Murders should be free of cruel and unusual punishment from our govt. ..
I don't care if a person kills a 2,10, 20 or 40 year old...if a person is innocent a person is innocent no matter the age

Even Criminals have a 'code of ethics' if you will when it comes to kids... I would suspect that this guy will actually have to be kept in confinement for his protection in jail...

Anybody, ANYBODY, who kills/rapes/etc., a little kid deserves nothing short of death. It is the ultimate sign of cowardice and evil to kill a kid who barely say her ABC's. I am not a father, but if anyone even tries to hurt my kid they better be prepared to go to hell. Maybe I sound harsh, but I cannot fathom why someone would want to hurt a kid, let alone kill them. This guy deserves deah. Prison wont be easy for him. Most prisoners HATE guys who hurt women and children. I will not be surprised if they find hi with a shiv in his side.

Well aparently you're either blind or just have a reading comprehension problem..... you replied to MY post with a question which had nothing really to do with my post, which Star was so kind to point out... then you bring up a bunch of other people's posts...
first off... stick to one person's post when you accuse someone of their posting intentions...
for the most part I agree with you in the fact that a life is a life... I personally think it's more tragic when an innocent child is killed (by anything) because with young children they never had a fair shot at life... but that's just my personal opinion...
in terms of the law though murder is murder...
MY point was that he'll probably have to have some sort of protection in jail because there will be those in jail who may want to hurt him since he killed a defenseless child...

People talk (and complain) about our judicial system being slow... well this is one of the reasons that it is slow, it's supposed to be relatively slow. It's supposed to be precise and by not having a trial immediately after a crime, that is time to allow the public to calm down and get their emotions under control, get all of the facts (which in this case seem to be pretty clear)...
Do I think this guy deserves to be stabbed, beaten and raped in prison? Probably not. Will I lose any sleep if it happens? Probably not.

Loki, you really are coming across as a "holier than thou" guy. I doubt this is how you really are, but your posts are coming across that way.
Reality is, like it or not, when this guy goes to prison, the inmates will give him a hard time if/when they find out his crime was against a small child.
Not that it is right, or justified, but that's reality. These guys aren't in prison because they are upstanding, kind, compassionate, forgiving citizens.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

Loki, every where I read your posts you seem to think you know more than everybody else. What you say is your opinion, and that's it, nothing more. What these people are saying is this guy will get his due in prison at the hands of another prisoner. It does not matter what your liberal little fantasies are, this guy will get tortured in prison and rightfully so. It's reality buddy. Deal with it. And speaking for myself, heck yeah I hope it happens!! It was a 2 year old for crying out loud. Yes there is a difference between a 2yr old and an adult when it comes to the criminals code of ethics, as stated by another poster. Sorry for you again but in the real world there is a code of ethics in prison. This guy already admitted he's guilty and he does not deserve the freedom from cruel and unusual punishment from prisoners. He deserves to have his a-hole tore out. Sorry, sad but true, it's reality.

We all can't be as enlightened as you . I for one would be disappointed if this guy didn't get what he deserves no matter what or who the instument of retribution is . Notice I didn't say justice because IMO there is no justice fitting for his crime only retribution.
