Our Cavs look lost

I too feel like the magic of last years playoffs is gone and we wont make it very far. Although I do think we get by washington.

I can see them getting beat in round 1, but Labron wont go for that, so I do see them bowing out in the second round...

i think they'll get past washington strictly because you know gilbert arenas and deshawn stevenson are going to both run their mouths, and lebron is going to go ape feces

cavs in 6

and then i think we match up with boson (barring some huge upset bigger than golden state/dallas last year)

boston in 5 =\

This article is unduly harsh on LeBron.

We finally get a superstar and people rag on him.

This team has undergone way more than their share of injuries this year. We really haven't played w/a set rotation this year. That has caused inconsistency. I really don't see the need for so much negativity. We still have the best player in basketball and we have some other pieces.

We need to defend the perimeter a bit better and we need to knock down shots.

actually, if you think about it, 45 wins isn't bad when you consider the holdouts, the injuries, and the 6 players out/4 players in trade...

i mean it's only a 5 win difference from last year's team which won the east...

Cavs in 5 over Wiz......the "Q"will be rockin' 1nce again.....and my man,Damon Jones will finally get the chance to do what i know he can do....shoot the pill!!

Won't say much until the next series....upset of the 'offs' will be Sixers' over Pistons in 6 or 7(just not sure which one yet).

I would love to see the 76ers take out the Pistons.

You know, I've been really down on the Cavs lately but the recent comments made by Arenas have given me a glimmer of hope. Why? Well, what happened the last two times someone pissed off LeBron?

Don't be surprised if he goes OFF against the WIZ. In all honesty, if he doesn't, then I don't believe we will win that series.

As far as this offseason goes, what do you think we can add?

Baron Davis might be an option if he opts out of the last year with Golden State. He'd be an UFA. I don't think we'd have the cap space to offer him but....he could be a HUGE piece to a run towards a championship. Is it possible?

He wont be opting out. No one will be able to pay him what he will get by staying in the Bay.

And if for some reason he did, we woudnt have the money to sign him.

We don't have any cap space this year. We'll get nobody via free agency. Our best bet would be to trade expiring contracts to a team looking to rebuild, and that's more likely to occur in the middle of the season, rather than in the off-season.

Kind of surprised no one has brought up Sasha's injury the other nite. They are saying 2-3 weeks so he is OUT for this series with Washington. I am sticking to my guns in saying he is a guy we will really miss, due to his ability to defend athletic players. I think he matches up well with Caron Butler.

If/When we make it to the second round vs. Boston, he will be rusty as all get out. NO WAY devin brown can keep up with Ray Allen.

If this was last year's Sasha..then the injury would hurt us.

But, this was this year's Sasha that somehow had his confidence shattered and was playing horribly at both ends of the floor. I think his injury saved Mike Brown from feeling compelled at playing him during the playoffs.

Even if he is able to play against the Celtics (assuming we make it that far), then I would be surprised if he is reinserted into the playing rotation this year. He needs to take the time off, get his head on straight and come back next year to start fresh.

I agree with that, all I am saying is that this team is not really a contender in my mind w/out a healthy, productive Sasha.

Devin Brown is a good guy and all, but there is a reason he was signed to a one year deal for like 1 million dollars. He just does not have the athleticism to stay with Ray Allen and Rip Hamilton like Sasha does.

Davis might be a little ticked at GS since Nelson sat him the whole second half in a game they had to win to have a chance to get in the playoffs.

Is a sign and trade possible? We'll have some big money guys with only a year left on their deals to trade and I think he can still get the bigger contract this way...

it is, but i think that'd be more of golden state doing us a favor, and really, why would they do that?

i love baron davis though, i don't know what kind of a fit he'd be in cleveland, as far as styles go, but he is fun to watch, and i think the cavs could use a guy who might be a little out there...

hey, maybe after we beat up washington for a third straight year, gilbert arenas will do the old can't beat 'em/join 'em thing

i think that would be an excellent fit

He could be, but come time to actually make the decision when his agent tells him there isnt any money out there for him, he will deal with it, the all mighty power of the green ya know.

I dont think you will see a sign and trade either, the Warriors have the power, they know he isnt going to leave and take a pay cut, I just dont see it happening at all.

Gilbert would be horrific fit here for the Cavs, he's the man when he's on the court. He and Lebron would fight for the ball, Gilbert takes his shots. Even if he was, we have no money to spend.

Baron Davis would be a nice fit because he's team first, he can score but he'd be ok being #2, however the Warriors are good, in a nice market and they aren't gonna let Baron go anywhere.

I dunno where the Cavs are gonna look to get their PG, not many good ones around that teams are lookin to move.

Anyway about the playoffs, think the Cavs win the series in 6, it might go 7 games. I just think Lebron is good enough to beat the Wizards by himself. The Wizards are better than the Cavs, but they were "the dumbest team in civilization" by calling out Lebron. They aren't that good!

Then we play Boston, and lose in 5 games.

does anyone think the trash talking being done by washington might benefit the entire cavs team, and not just lebron? it could maybe pull these guys together

you can agree with that or not, there's really no right answer, you'll just find out...

however, i think you can't deny that when these games start, the minute this game gets chippy, it's the standing up for each other that could essentially pull these guys together, you guys all know how ben wallace is... how z is...

and maybe a guy like joe smith, who's been around a long time but has never won it all, maybe he steps his game up even more, contributions from the role guys always seem to play a key role in the post-season...

Yes, I hope it brings them together. We shall see...
