Well, from his point of view - seeing as how Henry is out of football, and c. johnson is trying hard to be out of football - it only makes sense for the bengals next #1 receiver to be talking crap. He's learned well in the bengal organization.

Houshamajskaljsal actually plays for the team and should understand that they don't deserve any prime time games.

Hell, the league helped Houshamazolly out on that one touchdown in Cleveland. He shouldn't complain about anything the league does.

Palmer: Browns aren't ready for prime time

CINCINNATI — Quarterback Carson Palmer tossed another log onto the "Battle of Ohio" fire on Wednesday, April 16, just to stoke the rivalry's flames in the offseason.

He saw Cleveland's 2008 schedule and noticed the Browns were awarded a franchise-record five nationally-televised games.

Palmer wondered what the Browns did to deserve all the prime-time exposure.

"I was as shocked as anybody to see that because they're still a ways away from being a ..."

Palmer's voice tailed off.

"They weren't even in the playoffs," he said.

The Browns finished 10-6 in 2007, but lost a wild-card playoff berth to Tennessee when the Titans beat Indianapolis, 16-10. The Colts rested many of their starters.

Nevertheless, the Browns are the newest darlings of the NFL.

"I think it's a lot of hype early," Palmer said. "Just like every year, there's hype around one or two teams early. It'll fizzle out once they start playing games."

Opportunity knocks

Former Oakland and New England wide receiver Doug Gabriel said he entertained offers from Tennessee, Tampa Bay, Buffalo and Miami before Cincinnati came through. He jumped at the opportunity.

"You don't just want to be another guy," he said. "I wanted to be able to contribute. To get an opportunity like I've got here, I'm going to take it. I'll take it over anything."

Playing with Palmer tipped the scale.

"He'll make you a great player," Gabriel said.

Rugby, anyone?

Linebacker Dhani Jones was in London in February, on assignment for the Travel Channel, when he decided to play a new position.

Flanker ... in rugby.

He joined the scrum for Blackheath in a match against Launceston.

Jones, who owns Five Star Ties, a New York-based company specializing in bow ties, simply added to his résumé as a renaissance man.

"I just like to travel and try new things," Jones said. "Rugby's incredible. It's a great sport. When you go overseas, rugby players are admired to the Nth Degree. A lot of NFL players should try it."

Draft watch

Cornerback Leon Hall, the Bengals' first-round draft pick in 2007, is eager for the 2008 draft to unfold.

"I'm definitely interested in how the Bengals are going to do, how they go about the draft and who they're going to bring in," he said.

Hall is rooting for his former Michigan teammate, left offensive tackle Jake Long, who has begun negotiations with Miami as the possible No. 1 overall pick.

"He's really good," Hall said. "I'm not surprised at the situation he's put himself into. He actually has been bigger than he is right now (6-7, 313), which is kind of crazy because he's already huge. Basically, he's just a beast."

Why are the Bengals talking trash?

Did I miss something where they finished with a better record last year?

Bengals stupidity is now spreading from the fans to the players...it's fun to watch that team just continue to implode.

By beating us last year and taking a lead in the all-time series, I guess they feel they're better than us. Frankly, I don't underestimate them when we play them, especially in Cinci. But, I don't underestimate any team.

I don't know why these guys are so upset that we got these prime-time games. Do I think we deserve them? Maybe, maybe not. But, the Browns were an exciting team to watch last year and they have a large fanbase. That's what the league wants, IMO.

Why do the Bengals feel they deserve prime-time games? Because we didn't make the playoffs? That just doesn't make any sense.

Oh, and Carson, does this quote remind you of any teams in the past couple years, say....YOURS:

Well Carson, I'd say were on the uprise and your team is on the decline. I can't wait to see the Bungles implode when #85 refuses to show up for TC. Things are not looking well in Bengal Land.

I have some very good friends who are Bengals fans, so I always pay attention to the Bengals and don't mind when they do well (I'm sure my attitude would change if I lived down in that area. Here in NE Ohio, it's the bandwagon and annoying Steelers fans).

But it's stuff like this that will make me really happy when we run all over them. I hope this stuff goes right on our bulletin board.

I don't know what he's complaining about, the Bengals are always on TV, at least on Fox's Cops.

I know a lot of people who are bengals fans, some of which are my friends, so I follow the bengals so I can prove them wrong when they lie or don't know any better and to make fun of them.

Look, you Cleveland Clowns DID NOT make the playoffs last year & if you don't make the playoffs you had a losing season so NO you don't deserve but maybe one or maybe two primetime games. Last year you only beat the easy teams on your schedule, Seattle was the only "good" team that you beat & that was by the skin of your teeth in OT. The Cleveland schedule is considerably more difficult this year, I think you might very well lose all of your first 4 games, OK maybe not against the Rats , but you might very well be winless going into the Bye.

Houshmandzadeh and Palmer are WHINERS...your same, overhyped team used to receive primetime games before they dropped the ball...so now they don't deserve them...PERIOD. No bitching about it.

We haven't done anything since 64...well the Bungles haven't done anything since....well they just haven't done anything.

There are people with legal driver licenses and students entering college that have only been alive for one bungle winning season. That's the epitome of a loser team.

Chick Ludwig, of the Springfield News-Sun, reports the Cincinnati Bengals expect to make the playoffs in 2008.

So by that logic weve had more winning seasons then u in the last 15 years.
