Strange question but are there any odd smells that most other people don't like but you're a fan of?

Enjoy the smell of skunk myself but not the full-blown blast or fresh roadkill kind. The odor has to have been dissipated by a light rainfall.

New tires. My dad worked for Goodyear and ran a shop on the side changing tires and he had a room full of new tires. I never realized how much I liked it until a few months ago, I was on a job which was a city bus repair shop and I walked into a room full of new tires and it was great... I'm sure subconsciously I immediately associated the smell with my dad who has been gone a long time... but it was weird how GOOD I thought that room smelled. (I've been back to that job 3 times in the last few months and I keep making excuses to go in that room. )

I absolutely love walking into Home Depot, Lowes or a Lumber Store and smelling the wood.

Sun-tan lotion.

I always though that I should invent a perfume that had the smell of sun-tan lotion to it. As soon as somebody would smell it, they would have the thought of relaxing beaches and half-nekkid people.

When I read the title, I was thinking the same thing. A distant skunk discharge isn't really that bad. It's entirely different though, when I realize it was my dog that caused the discharge!

Why can't people who want to smell like suntan lotion just rub on some suntan lotion? It's $5 a bottle compared to perfume that smells like suntan lotion, which is $65 but comes with a small purse and some aftershave balm....

Gasoline is good, I also like the lumber yards and yes even skunk isnt a bad smell if not to strong, Skunk bring back memories of laying in bed growing up and smelling them in the morning,

others, Tool & dye makers use a dye or ink they wipe on metal to outline where to cut or drill that toolin dye smells pretty good, I do think it's considered a brain cell killer

My favorate is the smell you get out on a boat, that fishy smell I get during a fishing tournament, or hunting that wet dying leaf smell you smell in the woods in a tree stand when bow hunting.

I'm waiting for somebody to say the smell of thier belly button lint...

Are you talking about the blue stuff? We used to call it dychem (not sure of the spelling). But talking about machine shops, the oil we use on the lathe smells sweet when it heats up.

JP-4... Jet fuel! Everytime I smell it I think of when my dad used to take me to the Cleveland Air Show (back when you could get pretty close to the Blue Angels flight line and the Thunderbirds were still coming directly to Burke). Those were great times and I passed the tradition on to my son years later.

I agree on the new tires.

The smell of an auto shop is another - its probably the grease or whatever, but it reminds me of working on cars with dad when I was younger.

I forgot about that oil on lathe's, my guys use the same stuff to insure the metal doesnt get to hot, it's a tapping lubricant / coolent for machines, that stuff does smell pretty good...

Skunk smell reminds me of hanging out behind the local Dairy Mart when I was a teen.

If I see you there now, I'm calling the cops.

If they're not overpowering I don't mind burned rubber, gasoline or NITRO racing fuel. I may have been a dragster or a funny car in a former life. To this day I am more comfortable with a parachute attached to my butt and I only like yellow, green and red lights on my Christmas tree.

Save the cross-dressing jokes.

I feel you...there's something about the smell of a bowling alley...I didn't even realize I liked the smell until just now, but I can smell it clear as day, even though I haven't been to one in years

Well new shoes are probably the best smell ever. I've also always liked the smell of gasoline. And overall a nice autumn day just has a certain aroma to it that is just pleasant.

I love the smell of clean cat fur... as in just after they clean themselves. Soooooo good and comforting to me because it means my babies are close by.

That's probably my favorite smell in the whole world.

I also love the smell of caked-in lime on my fingers after a trip to Chipotle.

fresh mowed lawn
male parts
clothes fresh out of the dryer (i don't even use any dryer sheets)
clean sheets on the bed

and i guess male parts that have just mowed the lawn and wind up on clean sheets fresh from the dryer.

I figured you would have said a crayon fresh out of the microwave...

To me, new car reminds me of my aweful job I had for too long. So I use little trees to get rid of it! LOL.

I do like the smell of the dentist office... hate going but it smells good.
