I was sober and sitting right in front of my television

Oooooo.....Sorry man....What a game to watch sober...
It wasn't so bad, considering I didn't really care who won... I was just disappointed that it wasn't a better game...

Tough loss for Ohio State fans, Im obviously not an OSU fan, but I know how it feels the next day, and you guys know you'll back again. I like a lot of the people on here, even some OSU fans , most of you treated us Michigan fans with respect (even if I lost my cool at times) throughout the year and after the USC game...but for YTownsBrownsFan, jfanet, KashDawg, BrownsBuck, Ammo, Hooper and of course BrOwNsKiEs, this is only for you, in case your forgot:

Well it sucks but beating Michigan(AGAIN) is a nice consolation to fall back on.

About going for it on 4th down, I could have sworn Ohio State had gotten it by about an inch.

I felt the same way! But I am also an OSU fan and I was clinging onto that for dear life. It really didn't matter though. It wouldn't have changed anything.

What hurts the most is this...

It wasn't a dumb move. (going on 4th down)

Hear me out...

Jim Tressel would punt 9.9 times out of 10 in that situation. He is quoted as saying "the punt is the most important play of a game."

So when he sent his offense back out on 4th from their own 30, he was telling us all that he was desperate. That hope was all but gone.

I have never seen him do that before.

Florida out and out dominated the Buckeyes in all phases of the game, including Coaching.

But I would NEVER turn my back on Jim Tressel as a coach just because of one performance like that.

OSU fans should still feel blessed. Before last night we had won 19 straight. We are 5-1 against our rival Michigan. We have won a National Championship in the last 5 years. We have seen 2 heisman trophy winners in the last 10 years. We have lost a whopping 2 bowl games this decade.

Yes, Florida kicked our behinds. Yes, it hurts. But OSU fans have had a lot of good times to hang their hat on as well. I would assume that fans of some other programs would LOVE to have that kind of success.

Congrats to the Gators and Gator fans (except that turd Gerard Warren).

To the people I mentioned in that post, yes, I did drop to their level for that moment.

Nor would I,....on the official record, all congratulations due for the Gators, and especially to Ballpeen.

As long as Tressel is here, the Road to the NC goes through Columbus, even though we lost.

Texas and Florida just proved that, back-to-back.

Except that Tressel was out coached last night. Hasn't he heard of screens and draws, ect? And going for it on 4th down on your own 29 when you're only down ten? Giving up on the running game? If I was an Ohio St. fan, which I'm not, I would have a lot of questions.

I think Tress has done enough in his time at OSU not to be thrown under the bus for his team having a bad game.

Hey, I didn't make that garbage quote....but I still don't have respect for most Michigan fans. I'm surrounded by them, and most of them are jerks. They sure weren't very respectful to us during the Gordon Gee years.

I do think we're going to have our hands full next year. I only hope that Lloyd Cooper's still the coach.

I don't see going for it as "bad coaching". Why? Here's why: Who in their right mind would doubt the ability of OSU to get 1 yd. in 2 tries. 3rd and one, fourth and one. I thought it was great, right up until they didn't get the first.

My point, though, is: who would've thought OSU wouldn't get 1 yd? Give props to Florida - they took the game over - they showed what they were made of. Oh, and they also showed that going for it on fourth down against them is a questionable thing to do.

Hindsight is always better........at the time, it seemed like a "hey, florida, back up guys, we're gonna show you who the best team is" kinda call. Well, we found out.

And that's what it may have been.. but objectively looking at it, it appeared to be more of a "you've had the ball 5 times and scored 4 times with 3 touchdowns and a field goal and we don't want to give the ball back to you." kind of call....

It's football; you get outcoached once in a while. And if you ever knew anything about YSU, you would know JT DID get outcoached there once in awhile too. Sure, I have some questions,...but I don't dump people under buses. This is not combat in Iraq.

My point is/was, if you could pick 3 or 4 programs in the country you would never have to place on your schedule and still be allowed to drive down the NC Road,...who would those programs be ?? Right now mine are USC, Florida, Ohio State, and probably Oklahoma--maybe Texas. LSU is also a program I would like to avoid. These are the big boys of college football, and the NC road(s) run through their cities---current situations applying.

First of all. I am not an OSU fan, never have been, but I do give the devil his due.... I went to OHIO U. and seeing OU students wearing Scarlet and Grey always pissed me off...

Now that I got that off my chest....

Tressel had, until last night, always impressed me by his ability to get his team past the media hype and take every game seriously... last night, he didn't do his motivation job....

If this would have been a BT (before Tressell) OSU team, I would have said, "typical OSU." The Woody, Bruce, Cooper teams of the 70's, 80's and '90s, had a bad habit of believing their press clippings and believing that other teams would lie down and give up...just because they were playing against THE OSU. When the Bowl games (and Michigan) came around, those Buckeye teams found out that not everyone believed THE OSU Press Clippings.... and THE OSU was not as as good as the Columbus media made the Buckeyes out to be....

This has always been a criticism of the Columbus media market... the local media has nothing else to write about, but THE OSU, and the Blue Jackets. The Blue Jackets are yet to turn into winners, so the media tends to go a bit (sarcasm) overboard when it comes to THE OSU.

Remember the Liberty Bowl Game against Air Force around 1990??? The team, and media thought THE OSU deserved a major bowl and were almost insulted to play a minor bowl against an inferior opponent.... but THE OSU, took the money, and played the game..... and Air Force kicked their ass.

I'm not saying that Florida is an inferior opponent... I'm saying that OSU players starting believing their own hype and didn't take Florida seriously, then got their rear ends kicked... I expected more out of Tressel.... but you can't fight the media and motivate your players all the time....

Meyer prepared his team for the game, motivated his players and Florida kicked THE OSU's ass..... Good Job.... Congratulations Gators

Which side of the fence you sit on on the "Fire Romeo" issue? Just curious.

Yeah well Tressel should not be fired, but definitely held accountable. I was still steaming when I woke up this morning and posted that.
