I just found the stats I need for this. I'll have the results either tomorrow morning or tonight.

Thats a good start... IMO. How about attempts, TD's, big plays, pressures, hurries, yards, # of completetions, picks, yards per attemp or completion % or ratios... I'm probalby forgetting some others...
I'm not a stat guy at all... Maybe Espn or NFl.com has some info? Just some ideas...

Has anyone figured out why it matters one way or the other who our QB is as long as we are winning?
Yeah.
We were winning a lot of games last year. 10 of 'em to be exact. Great season.
11 would have been better.
That's why we talk about it.
We're all passionate about our team, and of course we all have differences in opinions. Until we win a Superbowl, there's always going to be discussions and differences.

I'm going to point this out before I post any numbers. All of these stats are largely dependent on the quarterback and other players on the offense. There are reasons why "Stats are for losers". Only part of these stats are because of the O-Line. I should have the percentage of sacks per drop back soon.

Steelers 11% 49ers 10.7% Jets 10.4% Chiefs 9.8% Lions 9.2% Raiders 9.1% Eagles 8.8% Vikings 8.8% Falcons 8.5% Rams 8.4% Bears 7.6% Dolphins 7.5% Buccaneers 7.3% Ravens 7% Panthers 6.5% Jaguars 6.6% Titans 6.5% Broncos 6.2% Seahawks 6.1% Bills 5.8% Redskins 5.5% Giants 5.1% Chargers 5.1% Cardinals 5.1% Cowboys 4.7% Colts 4.2% Texans 4.2% Patriots 3.6% Browns: 3.5% Packers 3.3% Bengals 3%
As you can see the Browns are the 3rd best in the NFL in this category. If Charlie Frye hadn't been horrible in week 1 and been sacked 5 times, we would have been #1. As you can also see, the team below us and the two ahead of us all have/had All-Pro QB's at the time and that definetley had an impact.
Also, I calculated these myself and there is room for error on my end.
EDIT: Link for sacks and pass attempts.

Isn’t nice to finally have a debate regarding two QB,s on our team. I can remember a time not to long ago when we had neither and the future was pretty dim.
I’ve mostly stayed away from this issue, because I know it is a volatile one and I don’t think either side of the issue is right or wrong. Neither….. I don’t think are Payton Manning or Tom Brady, but think of were we would be without one or both…..Bad dream Huh?
Brady Quinn has been put in a good opportunity to succeed here. He was brought to and up and coming team with lots of weapons. He wasn’t thrown into the fire. When his time comes I think he will do a nice job.
A Coach is right IMO in saying a player even a rookie 1st round QB has to earn the right to start. I also think it should also be the player who is the starter, his job to lose.
DA has had his critics and by his own admission with good reasons. He knows what he needs to improve on. We owe him the benefit of the doubt on weather or not he can build on last season.
Brady Quinn hasn’t had the time to even be critiqued so naturally DA has that as a liability.

I will say this, since he returned and started calling out people, they seem to have changed what they have been writing. I don't know if they realized how negative they sounded, which wasn't their intent, or they just didn't want to hear it anymore. Either way, I enjoy it. It's not as much DA sucks, Quinn is God, or vice versa.
I would say I've watched the way I've said things (*typed) more recently because I think sometimes I've felt misunderstood. It's harder to get an exact message across on here sometimes because you can't immediately clarify what you said. And sometimes things I may write can be twisted and turned, so I've tried to really think about what I want to say and the best way to say it so I'm perfectly clear. My thoughts and opinions really haven't changed much.

There is very little to refute there, so what do some people do.......attack the poster. Derail the conversation. I've done a pretty good job of ignoring the BS...you know.....like the comments about me not having a clue, but I fell for it this time. My mistake.
That's something I really try not to do. I try to keep it strictly football unless someone becomes ignorant towards myself. Sometimes emotions take over when you feel strongly about something, and all of us here do feel that way about our Browns. Otherwise, we wouldn't be here.
I think some of the most passionate fans are those who come to the boards and partake, particularly in this forum.
Ryst- join in man. Some people really take it serious, others just have fun. If you're afraid of getting blasted or looking foolish, don't worry about it. Just have fun discussing what we love to talk about: FOOTBALL. Welcome to posting.

Anderson establishing himself at QB Friday, May 30, 2008 By Steve Doerschuk REPOSITORY SPORTS WRITER BEREA By August, the Browns intend to paint the finishing touches on a state-of-the-art offense. As spring practice winds toward June, the brush is leaving splatters. "C'mon, back in the huddle! Let's go!" Offensive Coordinator Rob Chudzinski barked after quarterback Derek Anderson dropped a snap from center Hank Fraley. Anderson seemed choppy in this week's practice that was open to the media. He is running the first-string offense, such as it is with key players missing. In one sequence, he misfired to tight end Darnell Dinkins on the left sideline, sailed another sideline throw way over wideout Travis Wilson's head, then underthrew wideout Donté Stallworth, almost getting intercepted by safety Mike Adams. A 'WOW' PLAY After those three turkeys, though, Anderson fired a majestic strike to Wilson deep over the middle. It was one of those "wow" plays, which, if nothing else, reminded you Wilson's stock is rising. Quinn seemed relatively sharp. He is quicker in his dropbacks than Anderson. On one play, he let fire a strike to wideout Efrem Hill the split second he planted his feet. But there were glitches, too. On one play, Quinn held the ball too long for Chudzinski's tastes. "C'mon, Brady, let's go!" Chudzinski barked. On another, Quinn was intercepted in the end zone by Damon Jenkins, an undrafted rookie out of Fresno State. That Quinn is throwing to guys who won't make the team makes it hard to gauge his progress. Anderson, on the other hand, is practicing this week without Braylon Edwards, Kellen Winslow Jr. and Joe Jurevicius, his top three receivers last year. So, he faces streamlining issues, too. HEIGHT IS AN EDGE One thing everyone notices is how much taller Anderson is than Quinn. Using a 6-foot-6 body to his advantage has become second nature to Anderson. On one practice play Wednesday, Anderson was crouched a bit with a pile in front of him. He straightened up, craned his neck, spotted Dinkens over the middle and flicked a strike. There are zero indications at this point that Quinn has a chance to play his way past Anderson with a torrid training camp. Asked to appraise his No. 1 quarterback, Anderson, after a practice, Head Coach Romeo Crennel said: "I think he's really confident. He knows the system better. He knows the personnel better. "There's no real competition he has to worry about, so he can focus on trying to get better and trying to run the offense more efficiently." Spring practice continues today and next week, building toward a June 10-12 minicamp. Reach Repository sports writer Steve Doerschuk at (330) 580-8347 or e-mail: steve.doerschuk@cantonrep.comBrowns Notebook The Adams option Mike Adams, a fifth-year pro and second-year Brown, can be an extra cornerback, but the Browns see him more as a third safety behind Sean Jones and Brodney Pool. Adams was a pleasant surprise as a utility guy after jumping from San Francisco, where he started 18 games during the 2005 and '06 seasons. He landed on injured reserve with a minor knee injury late last year but has been running well in spring practice. He played slot corner against the No. 1 offense through much of Wednesday's practice. He played one sideline throw to Donté Stallworth so well that he should have made an interception. Coaches got on his back about not making the pick. Adams, 27, is having a nice career for a guy who went undrafted out of Delaware in 2004. Extra points -- Bernie Kosar, appearing Thursday on WKNR, dismissed rumblings that Randy Lerner is shifting his mindset from the football team he owns in Cleveland to the soccer team he owns in England. Kosar, who routinely sits with Lerner on NFL game days, said Lerner is "so committed to the Browns ... I think somebody went a little overboard with something." -- You appreciate Phil Dawson's ability to thread a needle with his foot when you watch a particular practice drill. Dawson tees up the football at the pylon on the goal line and tries to kick it through the uprights at that outrageous angle. Often enough, the ball goes through. STEVE DOERSCHUK

Yep, pretty much confirms that its almost impossible for BQ to WIN the QB job. Hate to be redundant but DA is too good in practice (surprised as the inconsistency still) and having starter status simply won't play enough in Pre-season to come close to losing his status.
BQ's play leading up to the season can determine how short a leash is put on DA after the Regular season starts...thats about it though.

I'm not surprised that he is still inconsistent.....isn't that the definition itself?

well I guess I should have said...I'm surprised that he still is consistently inconsistent...
I don't know how a coach could welcome that with a "got to take the bad with the good" attitude. I just don't get it. Don't make sense...hopefully it was just cause the Media was there and he was trying too hard??? But then Hopefully not.
We'll see how this plays out - as stated before. If we must make adjustments I hope we do it swiftly. Cause it would have to be after the season starts.

I still believe this constant talk of DA being the entrenched starter no matter what is just a bunch of hooey in an attempt to keep the "controversy" from escalating and I think that's smart to an extent. Listening to Quinn talk on Sirius NFL radio the other day tells me he's going to be bustin' his ass to try to take the job.
And that's exactly what we should want. (clarification- not saying we should want him to take the job away from DA, we should want them both to be busting their ass for the job)
Gotta love it.

If that's what they are doing (and I don't know for sure), then yeah, I agree, it's a smart move. That takes all the outside pressure off of both guys. But if that's what's happening, the "inside the team" pressure is still there. That's also a positive.
I don't care who our starter is.. as long as we win.. it's all good to me.

Nothing here that is really different or shocking.. DA doesn't have the best control of his arm/passes..this is a area that bugs me the most about him..accuracy..thats what will make/break him this year..outside of decision making..

I meant to touch on this earlier but forgot to do so: Quote:
The 3 year contract...but more so the "FACT" we refused to even go to the table talking about a 5-7 year contract - is in fact testimony that we have questions about DA becoming a Franchise QB.
You all can put lip stick on it and doll it up as much as you wish.
That was purely a business decision based on the uncertainty of the CBA. If things continue with no updated agreement, then the rules change. DA will be a Restricted Free Agent at the end of the 3 year deal, and if he has grown into the franchise QB then we have rights to him and if he doesn't pan out then we only have a short term deal lost in him.
Purely money reasons due to what's going on with the CBA right now, and not because we didn't want to give him a long term deal because of uncertainty of talent. THAT'S what it was about....not as you or Pit have stated. The business side of the game drives these things......

Without a doubt he will - as he should. And I know a percentage of this DA is the starter and BQ is the back up is to create a comfort zone for DA to succeed. I have alluded in the past that I sense a certain insecurity from DA in his abilities. The need or should I say the result of when we shipped Frye off.
Even in that article you just posted there is this quote from RAC.
"There's no real competition he has to worry about, so he can focus on trying to get better and trying to run the offense more efficiently."
Every great QB that I ever had been in contact with...12, 18 or 25 years old - and had the priveledge to observe...revels in competition...not find it cumbersome. Little things like this just smack me in the face with a Red Flag. But still in lieu of all that. I just see it near impossible for DA to be unseated...unless he just chokes to bizarre proportions.

Good list and thanks. What do you say we leave the ifs, ands or buts out of this. Too subjective... You'll notice that all the teams mentioned off the top of my head, are right there in the top 5 to 10. Our QB is a ProBowl QB too... How did the Saints stack up? Did you forget them? LMK I believe there is other criteria for our discussion that should be considered and used as we move forward. There is going to be some position and team stat overlap so we'll just discuss what is acceptable as we go. Thanks again and...

I don't know what happened to the Saints. I had them on there. Anywy they are #1 with a percentage of 2.5%.
May I also point out that DA was a Pro-Bowler, but as an alternate. DA was in his first Pro-Bowl the others were not. I don't think anyone here would argue DA is near the level of Carson Palmer, Tom Brady, or Drew Brees.

Something that would help clarify the picture would be to add hits, pressures and hurries if the information is available.

Your painting way to dire a picture here bro .... there is COMPETITION at every position every year .. there are MANY reasons why RAC/Opie are HAMMERING HOME the fact there is no comp ....
1. The TEAM NEEDS IT AT THIS POINT ... we ahve a shot this year ... EVERYONE LIKES DA and they now have someone to rally around as there leader ....
2. DA NEEDS IT ... you;ve said a million times and I agree .. the boy has not held up to pressure well in ANY PHASE at this point ... so there making him feel as comfie as possible ..
3. IT MAKES SENSE for everyone ivolved .... DA did some good things and coupled with the fact that BQ is unproven and coming off his rookie year ... AT THIS POINT ... THE JOB SHOULD BE DA'S ....
4. IT STOPS THE QUESTIONS IMMEDIATELY ..... OK, it don't stop tehm but it CHANGES WHAT IS ASKED AND TAKES ALL THE PRESSURE OFF EVERYONE INVOLVED ....
but U know what Bro .. THATS FOR NOW ... its June 1st ... all we've SEEN since LAST YEAR is a week in shorts ... and JUST LIKE LAST YEAR THE PRESS IS TRYING TO "handicap" how there both doing .....
THIS BATTLE WILL BE WON BY BQ when TC opens and he shines in DRILLS and then they will get in 11 on 11's .... and BQ WILL BURY HIM ....
DA starting on Day 1 is FAR FROM A FOREGONE CONCLUSION ...
Opie has said a MILLION TIMES all ready ... we did this to LET IT PLAY OUT ... well it MAY PLAY OUTR THAT BQ EARNS THE NOD AS EARLY AS THE BOYS GAME ....
I'm telling U bro ... WE HAVE SOMETHING REALLY SPECIAL IN BQ .... I believe that DA will end up a below avg. QB in this league ... but even if I thought he was going to end up an avg. or slightly abv avg. THAT WOULD NOT BE GOOD ENOUGH TO KEEP BQ DOWN ...
your painting way to negative a pic of BQ's chances to start from Day 1 this year ... its not going to be easy ... BUT BQ CAN DO IT .... YOU'LL SEE .....

Bro .. how about we go with TALENT for this debate and WHAT HAPPEND ON SUNDAYS .... cause good god man ... the STATS FOR LOSERS show the Texans as a to 6 or 7 in that sacks category ... and there OL STUNK .... it was ONE OF THE worst 3 OR 4 IN THE LEAGUE ..... they got Schuabb killed .. and hes a fairly mobile QB that does not hold the ball to long ... DID U NOT WATCH THEM PLAY US THIS YEAR???
and the Bungles???? NOT A SHOT IN HELL there near as good as us in pass blocking ... NOT A SHOT IN HELL .....
let ask U this .... if U could take any OL's in the league over ours ... WITCH ONES WOULD U TRADE HEADS UP FOR OURS????
and if u wanna use stats ... U need to find ones that include THE FOLLOWING ....
1. SOS ... 2. HITS AND KNOCKDOWNS ... this one would DESTROY THE TEXANS ... 3. HOLDING PENALTIES ... 4. HURRIES ....
and theres a bunch more ... The Texans?? PLEASE ..... and the cards were not a good pass blocking OL either ... Lienart and Warner were both treated like crash test dummies back there ...
I said we were top 5 and possible top 3 .... the teams I was thinking of were ..
Pats .... Pack ... Boys ... (the COLTS WERE ALSO MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AT BEST THIS YEAR ... PAYTON GOT HIS ASS KICKED ALL YEAR .. ) .. Saints ..... thats who's group were in ...
and with NO INJURIES on ours last year vs the schedule we played .. we may have been the best in the league ...

I have no idea where to get those numbers, but no discussion of OLine stats would be acceptable or even close to accurate without them.
I think we all know that sacks are just a miniscule part of the things that go wrong and get way too much importance assigned to them because of the glory aspect.
Yes, it is nice to drop the opponent back a few yards and cost them a down in the process, but as has been mentioned by several folks, hits, hurries, penalties & pressures are the real story teller and have a far more consistent impact on the entire course of a game versus a couple of sacks.

Dude... Who is going to be the talent judge? Your list of stats has been discussed by Deep and I already... He's working on finding those... It takes time to compile... Others have made similar recomendations, but they have no idea where to go to get the info...Come on man catch up... You are the one that posed the 0-Line question. Why don't you do the research, facilitating and follow up? Are saying the the teams I mentioned don't have talent? I disagree... Your harping on the Texans... One of the 8 or so teams I mentioned... Yes, I watched the Texans some... I listed them didn't I...? If I don't know the stats, how else would I have had them on my list? Is Schabb tough enough to make it through an entire season as a starter? He held the ball too long, ( first year staters do that), and didn't deliver it consistantly either... Can we blame the 0-line for that? I don't remember him being sacked very often... Pick on one of the top 5 I listed and we'll talk... And "this" became my responsibility exactly when??? Why do I need to find the info? I named 7 or 8 team off the top of my head that I thought were better or close... I answered your question... Sorry it wasn't the answer you were looking for... I'm not a stats guy at all... Did I not mention that already here, several times? U know I'm not a stats guy, so what is the deal? I have no idea where to go to find the sats... I do find it more than interesting that every team I mentioned was in the top 5-10 according to the info that Deep found on his first go at it... The teams you were thinking of were the ones I listed... Is the schedule a positive for the Browns in this discussion or a drawback? Our 0-Line was good in PP but they were not the best... Happy Friday man.

No problem man, I have no idea either. Thanks for the reply & input. I'm starting to get the feeling that some people here are not reading the replys and posts on the new 0-Line angle here... Hits, hurries, pressures holding penalties and other criteria have all been mentioned as messuring sticks...

First off, I completely agree with you that we can't measure an O-Line without those stats. Unfortunately, I can't find them anywhere. Maybe someone who is more of a stats guy than me can, but I can't. Most of the time I think that stats are for losers. However, if we would be able to find these stats I think that it would be a pretty good representation of the best and worst pass blocking O-Lines. I will continue to look, but I doubt I am able to find anything.

Not to make anything harder, but it also might be helpful to look at those stats and add in the strengths of the defenses, especially pass-rushing, that those lines were up against.

"Stats are for losers" is only applicable if your basing everything off of said numbers and not thinking objectively. Most of our lives are based off of risks assessed by statistical analysis.
Also, I'm sensing that someone is going to end up with a pretty case of cognitive dissonance here by the start of the season. But i guess if you say anything with enough emotion and confidence, you can believe anything.

That made me chuckle. Good one.

U seem like a fine young man with a bright future .. one of the things that really sticks out about U is U ask questions and want to learn .. unlike most of the dolts on here .. its so hard to have an intelligent football talk anymore its PLAIN PITTIFUL .. as far as what your trying to do here ... u WILL NOT FINE YOUR ANSWERS IN STATS ... NO MATTER HOW MANY STATS U FIND ... use your eyes ... and use them on SUNDAYS (or this year Mondays and Thursdays also .. *L*) .. all U need to know to FIND YOUR ANSWERS .. 1. Did DA have TIME TO THROW THE BALL ... 2. How often was he rushed into throwing it.... 3. How often did he have to move .. 4. How often was he not allowed to step forward and have a good motion with proper footwork ... the answers to those questions ARE ALL U NEED ... Bro .... every QB in the NFL not named Brady was ENVIOUS of DA and the TIME and POCKET he had ... Tom Brady was the only one that came close ... U found one stat and the texans were in the top 10 .... my brother Boise thinks they had a good OL .. well I have no clue what he watched when they played cause he certainloy wasnlt watching Schuabb getting killed or Sage making most of his passes while on the run .. there OL IS PUTRID ... LAST YEAR our OL was top 3 in PASS BLOCKING ... and anyone with a brain will not try and debate it .. cause its TRUE ... again .. NO QB IN THE LEAGUE NOT NAMED BRADY HAD AS MUCH TIME AND AS GOOD OF POCKETS AS DA DID ... and yes .. part of this was the schedule we played ... we played VERY VERY BAD FOOTBALL TEAMS AND BAD FOOTBALL TEAMS on alot of Sundays .. Please don't get in the habit of looking for your answers in stats ... its a HORRIBLE HABIT and will lead to false conclusions ... USE STATS to go and see if they jive with what U saw ... FORM YOUR OPINIONS based on what U see and they see what the Stats say ... and when they don't jive with your opinions .. FIGURE OUT WHY ... but TRUST WHAT U SEE .. not what a STAT SAYS ... STATS LIE ... no matter what the dolts with big vocabularies say .... this guy seems to be telling us that football is like taking a crap ... cause we lead our lives based on stats ... so when my sphinter tells me I have to go .. I go based on the stat that tells me If I don't at some point its going to come out anyhow ... that has alot to do with football stats .. take it for what its worth dude ... time for me to go back into hibernation .. I can't take the stupidity no more ... (and I don't mean U or Boise .. I'm talking about guys like dratdayz and Rish ... ) ... see u in a few months ... or maybe not until Oct ... if u want PM me and we can discuss the OL's .. you'll learn alot more that way ... trust me ..

Hey before you go...
I didn't write that the Rump-riders had a good 0-Line overall... We were talking about pass protection... I thought they did a pretty good job pass protecting in the games I saw… I didn't remember them giving up a ton of sacks and watched both there QB’s hold the ball far too long in many cases and not get rid of it on time or when they should have...
Why you are stuck on the HT’s of all of the teams I mentioned is beyond me... Are you just pissed that the Texans and every other team I listed were in the top of the stats that Deep found?
Enjoy your hiatus... Until next time...

j/c: Now I understand........... When I came back to the board at the end of the season. I was shocked to read all the negative comments about DA. I thought he would be getting a ton of praise. I just saw an example of why this was. A few biased and loud people keep hating on a guy and then others buy it as fact, even though the truth is being misrepresented. I read the same article from the Canton Rep that others did.........yet I saw quite differently. I sure as hell didn't interpret DA's missed throws as him suffering from pressure because the media was there. LOL..........unreal. The guy has played in front of 70,000---100,000 people w/the media present and in front of national television audiences, yet we are supposed to believe that he choked because some local media guys were watching an OTA? And they say it w/such conviction. Hey guys.............all QBs miss throws. And why wasn't BQ's struggles mentioned? Hell............he may have been playing w/second and third teamers, but he was also facing the scrubs. Then we get this gem: Quote:
"There's no real competition he has to worry about, so he can focus on trying to get better and trying to run the offense more efficiently."
We are led to believe by a few posters that this comment was to shelter DA's ego. Well.....I think that is nonsense. DA is almost unflappable and it is one of the things the coaching staff and his teammates love about him.
I have read crap about DA not handling any kind of pressure well. LOL............he plays his best when the pressure is really on. DA usually plays his best at the end of games....even in his worst games, such as the second Bengal game and the Oakland game...........he still almost pulled out the win. He did pull out other wins throughout the year at the end of the game. He does very well w/pressure. In fact, it is a remarkable trait in such an inexperienced QB.
If anything..........the people who said he doesn't get started early enough and doesn't do well until the pressure mounts.........have a better argument. But, it does slay me that both of these arguments are floating around.
One more thing:
Quote:
"I think he's really confident. He knows the system better. He knows the personnel better.
I didn't see any mention of this from the guys who are ripping DA. Objective analysis? I think not.
Now................I am not bad-mouthing BQ for throwing his pick and not providing adequate competition for DA, such as this quote could be interpreted:
Quote:
"There's no real competition he has to worry about,
Instead, I think I will let it play out and not try to demean one player so my guy looks better. Truth is............I do not know who is better or who will be better. All I know is that at this particular point in time, the Browns believe DA is better than BQ, no matter what some posters may say.

Trust me, I will never look for answers in stats. I have tried very hard to explain that stats mean very little to the kids at school. It can sometimes be very difficult to get a point across to a 14 year old. *L* There are way too many variables involved with stats as I said before I posted the O-Line sacks.
The only reason I posted them was that there was no way that we would be able to come to a consensus on the fact that the Browns are a top pass blocking team. From the games I have watched, no other O-Line is even close in pass blocking.
The only reason the Bengals were near the top in sacks per attempt is because they have a very good Quarterback in Carson Palmer who gets rid of the ball. In this case the stats partially agreed with what I have seen and partially disagreed. They agreed with the Browns and disagreed with several other teams. I don't think it is a coincidince that the two teams above the Browns in my stat, and the one below, all had All-Pro Quarterbacks.
I wish you would stick around. I have learned a lot from you and I could learn a lot more yet.

Wow, you learned something ? I feel like I just read 7 pages of transcript of Charlie Brown listining to his teacher.... Waaa waaa waaa waaa waaa waaa Only on the Browns board could we have a discussion lasting this long, over 1 position on a team sport that requires 22. What I want to see is if the defense sucks and gives up 28pts per game this year, and the offense puts up 27 pts per game, how everyone is going to twist it into a It was DA's fault thread. I really don't care who the QB is but some of you really are pressing the agendas. DA can't do this DA can't do that , but BQ can. How do I know, I don't , just believe me because I gots football smarts. Heck after reading some of this crap , I wonder If DA does anything right. Someone please tell me how they know BQ is going to be a stud. What have you seen? .......... in his 8 or so plays EO I respect what you write , however the one thing I have noticed is this FO doesn't give a squat about what the media or fans think about their decisions. On the contract issue with DA, why do people like to read into what it means ? What it means is , DA you had ONE good year as a starter, but that only means you deserve more, but it doesn't mean you are Peyton yet. Show us you are more than a one year blip and we will talk again. We believe you can be great but we need more proof than a year. Meet us at a reasonable point and you will get the chance to supply that proof. IE you are the starter as of now. This thread....

Just to chim in here... Matt IMO didn't hold the ball too long last year for the Texans... sometimes he did... most of the time he didn't. He got it away quickly most of the time... but most of the time he was running for hsi life. I dont' care what stats say the Texans' OL sucked last year. No consistency... horrible blocking... and that and lack of RB talent led to no running game.
I have no idea how the Texans did as well as they did last year. They had no OL, no Running game, a Horrible secondary and their top offensive weapons couldn't stay healthy. Thankfully they have two capable QBs some good talent at WR and TE and a fantastic front on defense.
