U were out???? well your gonna be even madder now ... u WERE NOT OUT .... that is not a catch ... the Ump hosed U on that one ... *LOL* ...

if they could manipulate aluminium to make them like wood .. that would be GREAT ... it needs to be done ... until then .. DROP ALUMINIUM ... its way way way to DANGEROUS ...

Yeah I know, my dad (who knows his baseball better than most MLB managers) was furious but he wasn't gonna argue with a kid ump. We all had a laugh after the game anyway cuz the guy whose glove I broke was one of my friends.

Then when I started umping a year later I learned the job isn't as easy as it looks.

All this talk about baseball makes me want to play in a summer softball league so bad...too bad the ones in my area have already begun play.

I think you're on crack if you want to outlaw aluminum bats.... there is no need to change what has been perfectly fine for damn near a century just because some kid got a boo-boo.

some kid got a boo boo .. *LOL* ... go tell his parents that .. and how about the kid that died ... no biggie I am sure it would have happend with a wood bat ..

Like I said ... go throw 50 pitches to guys with wood bats and then 50 pitches to guys with aluminium bats and then get back to me ..

U obviously have not been around HARDBALL and seen the difference ... cause if u were ... YOU;D KNOW ...

Oh ya .. and ask the kid who got a fractured skull .. or the coach from a local college team who 2 weeks ago fractured his skull ... or the kid who lost 3 teeth a week ago in a HS game ...

just Boo Boo's ....

sounds like some kids should learn to catch with their mitts and not their faces.

I mean, how weird is it that a baseball to the head hurt them! Holy cow, I never would have thought it could happen!

Man, I long for the days of my youth when a kid could go play without being forced by lawyers and whiners to be wrapped in bubble wrap. A kid can't even ride a bike without all kinds of ridiculous helmets and pads.

*LOL* ... that actually made me *L* ... the unfortunate part is that it just shows your lack of intelligence on the subject ..

and I am sure the 5 college pitchers that took shots off the head could catch just fine ..

whens the last time u played HARDBALL and they had aluminum bats???

whens the last time u went to a HARDBALL game where they used alimunium bats???

whens the last time U pitched in a hardball game where they used aliminium bats???

Ya .. I thought so ..

as for the bubble wrap .. there's a TON OF LEE WAY between that and taking aliminumm bats out of kids hands ...

or like DC said .. if U can make them "less lethal" that would be a great start ..

Yeah, except they apparently catch like a really bad boxer blocks.

you're right, not in a long, long while... but I'm pretty damn certain that the physical and chemical properties of aluminum hasn't changed since the last time I did, so where's the problem now when it was perfectly fine 30 or so years ago?

I'll tell ya where... between the ears of those complaining. The same set of ears that bubble wraps kids before they play hop-scotch or shoot marbles...wait, we can't have marbles, the children might choke on them.

If the sport chooses to change of its own accord, that's cool, but to have it forced on them in the always lousy and misguided court of public opinion is an absolute crock.
