I watched "The Natural" last night and the final homerun scene has got to be one of my favorite scenes in any movie. The build up to it with Robert Redford breaking his trademark bat, 2 strikes, the bottom of the ninth,,and then this:
I love that scene. Everything works perfectly together. The scene, the music, the radio announcer in the background calling the action , and of course, the lights exploding and the reactions.
So, what are some of the scenes in movies that give you the chills that you just can't get enough of?
Our honor defend, we will fight to the end, for OHIO! GO BUCKS!
Love the Planes, Trains, and Automobiles scene ... classic.
Some of my favorite movie scenes of all-time:
--Diner scene in pulp fiction w/Samuel L. Jackson.
--Lobby scene in The Matrix...watched best with a nice surround sound.
--When the cop that Samuel L. Jackson shot is on the stand in The Time to Kill and he shouts 'You turn him loose'. That is a great, great scene.
--Swingers ... when Mike calls the girl he just met at the bar and keeps leaving messages on her machine. Swingers, by the way, is the best guy movie of my generation. If anyone is in the 25-35 year old range and hasn't scene it, rent it ... today.
--The standoff in Crimson Tide between Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington at the end when they have fixed the radio and are about to receive the emergency transmission ... they are talking about the horses. This is a great movie all the way around. I've been told by people who served on subs that it is very realistic minus the fact that Hackman's character was allowed to bring his dog.
--In Training Day ... when the hispanic dudes are about to kill Ethan Hawke and they discover that he saved one of their cousins from rape. Holy crap, that scene is tense. Great movie all the way around ... Denzel's best, IMO.
--Volleyball scene in Meet the Parents ... one of the best comedies of all-time, IMO.
--Bourne Ultimatum ...
Bourne: This is Jason Bourne. Noah: I was wondering when you were going to make this call. How did you get this number? Bourne: You didn't think I was actually coming to Tudor City, did you? Noah: No, I guess not. But if it's me you want to talk to, perhaps we can arrange a meet. Bourne: Where are you now? Noah: I'm sitting in my office. Bourne: I doubt that. Noah: Why would you doubt that? Bourne: If you were in your office right now, we'd be having this conversation face to face.
...badass
--Opening scene to The Rundown with The Rock where he beats up all the football players. He says 'They have a legitimate shot at repeating this year...I don't want to hurt them'. ... classic
--Ending scene in A Few Good Men. One of my top 5 movies of all-time.
--Another badass scene: Club scene in Collateral with Tom Cruise. His character is scary in that, especially in that scene.
Oh man, I'll have to think of more. I love movies.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

That movie really kept you guessing ... from whether or not Washington's character was good or bad or in the middle ... to how Hawke's character was going to get out of that jam with the hispanic gang bangers ... if at all. First time around seeing it was tense.

Yep, it's one you can watch over and over but the first time really has you on the edge......all the way until the very end. You don't know for the longest time what is really what, or what the hell will happen next.

why did the latino thugs try to kill jake? The only thing I got from that scene was that they were paid to do it.

i'll second this...
"you're money and you don't even know it"
some of my favorite scenes...
the "playing through" scene in caddyshack where ty hits his ball into spackler's place, there are 4 or 5 memorable quotes in that scene alone...
shawhshank redemption- the moment right when the warden rips down the rita hayworth poster, and finds out that andy totally screwed him, one of the best buildups ever...
herb brooks' speech to his kids just before they took the ice against russia in Miracle
the chase scene in the blues brothers, just absolutely ridiculous...
The Usual Suspects- When Agent Kujan realizes who Keyser Soze is....Verbal is walking with a limp on the street, images from the bulletin board flashing on the screen in slow motion, Kujan runs out after Verbal, Verbal walks normally....
Best line in the movie: "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist. And like that... he is gone."
Quote: If I had to pick one scene it would be in Tombstone when a very sick Doc Holliday steps off the porch and says " I'll be your huckleberry".
That was great, but even better than that was the showdown with Johnny Ringo... "say when" ... "you're no daisy, you're no daisy"...
That is a great movie. I've always maintained that the Doc Holiday role may be the best badass role of all-time.
Two other great scenes from that movie:
--First showdown with Holiday and Ringo where Holiday is twirling the cup like a gun.
--When Curly Bill gets high and shoots the sheriff, then Wyatt Earp comes out to apprehend them, but the Cowboys start to surround him. Then Ike starts to approach him and Earp puts the gun to his head and says "you die first...get it...your friends may get me in a rush but not before I make your head into a canoe..."
Classic.

If you want to check out a movie with some awesome scenes in it check out The Life And Times of Judge Roy Bean. That movie has way too many good scenes to just pick one. (and it's the movie that introduced Victoria Principal to the world)
Isn't that the truth? Don't know what the ladies saw in him cuz he sure doesn't do a thing for this LadyDawg. Now if they would have said oh say Christian De Le Fuentes then maybe I'd see the attraction.
i love all the scenes that have been mentioned....classics
another one that came to mind was in The Shining when Jack Nicholson was chasing his wife with the bat up the stairs. That was a pretty tense 5 minutes or so with great acting...."Wendy....Wendy....my dear....darling....light of my life. I'm not gonna hurt you....no....just....just let me finish! I said I'm not gonna hurt you....I'm just gonna bash your brains in. I'm gonna bash them right the **** in!"
Many memorable scenes from that movie.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
The movie scene that makes me laugh every time I see it is in the movie O Brother where art thou. The escaped cons pick up Baby Faced (George) Nelson. As the cops are chasing them, Nelson breaks out a mission gun and starts shooting away, and one of the characters says "What line of work are you in George?" Then they pass a bunch of cattle and George says, I hate cows more than I hate cops and shoots a bunch of them. Then the cows panic and run into the road and the cops run into them.
Unforgiven. Clint Eastwood. Won't post the scene because the only ones I found were too long, but if you haven't seen it - and even if you have, go to youtube - Unforgiven.
It's actually better if you have seen the whole movie, but even in the clips...........he's a bad man.
When I was an impressionable youth I was struck by the scene from The Enemy Below. The "feather merchant" captain turns the destroyer as 2 torpedos speed right by. A sailor says to another, "How did the Capt know when to turn?" The other replies, "Thats why he's the Captain and you're not."
I saw that movie recently on cable and it's corny but I liked it when I was eight.
Another disturbing and uncomfortable scene that sticks in my head is from the movie Crash. If you haven't seen it, watch it.
The scene where Matt Dillon and Ryan Phillipe pulled over Thandie Newton and her husband (can't remember his name), and Matt Dillon improperly frisks and gropes Thandie Newton as her husband powerlessly watches. It leads up to another scene later with the two of them meeting again.
I can't find the exact scene on Youtube, but the second scene is on there.
Quote: Maybe not my favorite, but one that sticks......In Pulp Fiction when Travolta has to stab Uma Thruman in the heart with adrenalin.
The hamburger scene in that movie is epic...
Anyways, the whole length of the movie Hook, the whole "No, I am your father" in star wars.
When Neo comes back to life in the Matrix, when the Riders of Rohan run in during Return of the King and for sure in Braveheart when Mel Gibson yells "FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Quote: Another disturbing and uncomfortable scene that sticks in my head is from the movie Crash. If you haven't seen it, watch it.
I'm not sure if there is one scene in that movie that stands out above the others, but that entire movie is so epic, so original, so not Hollywood, IMO. It deserved the Best Picture award without a doubt. It is an excellent, excellent movie. If anyone on here has not seen it, I suggest renting it the next time you are watching movies.
If I could pick one scene it would be the one with the store owner, the little girl, and the little girl's father. That scene sticks out because it is the most original scene in a movie that is already original in it's entirety.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...
Sniper scenes from "tears from the Sun and Saving Private Ryan Commando attack of the terrorist Village in Predator Chest bursting scene from Alien Were gonna need a bigger boat - Jaws
MANY MANY MORE but not like this:
Mustang man to my heart and God Bless Steve McQueen.....

It really is. Then first time I saw that movie I had to buy it on DVD b/c I liked it so much. The scene your talking about is memorable for me too b/c I have daughters and at first I kinda went "OMG!" cause I thought he shot her. Like 17 said too the part later on where Matt Dillon saved that woman from that car when it was on fire is another one. One more I liked also had Dillon in it and it makes me laugh b/c it's so his character. When he calls the lady up on the phone and she says her name is "Shniqua(SP?) Johnson" and he says something like "Figures" and she hangs up on him. His part in that movie was great!
One of the best scenes in a war flick ever is this. The music and the scene are so awesome, it pumps me up everytime I see it:
Our honor defend, we will fight to the end, for OHIO! GO BUCKS!
The whole fight scene between Antonio Banderas and Woddy Harrelson in Play it to the bone.
The Scene in Kingpin where Woddy Harrelson go's "I woke up early this morning and took the liberty of milking your cow for ya.. Took a while to get er going, she sure is a stubborn one." "We don't have a cow, we have a bull." I'm gonna go brush my teeth."
Rocky 3, After Mr. T beats Rocky, Rocky goes on his motorcycle trip around Philly and ends up in his and Mickey's old Gym. It's dark, and quiet, Rocky casually punches a speedbag, then, out of nowhere you hear "That's not the way you do it" Rocky turns, and looks, and finds Apollo Creed standing in the door way.- AWESOME! Awesome because up to that point, Rocky and Apollo had been adversaries.
In Star Wars: A New Hope, towards the beginning, Luke tells Ben Kenobi that "This R2 unit is looking for somebody named Obi Wan Kenobi" Ben Kenobi gets a stunned looked on his face, sits down on a rock and says " Obi Wan Kenobi, Obi Wan Kenobi, now there's a name I have not heard for quite some time."
