Anyone have an idea when this new Guns N' Roses album is getting released? Isn't it delayed by more than 2 years?

I'm looking forward to this album and I know that Axl is looking to make it a masterpiece so that he can confirm that he was the brains behind the success of GN'R.

This album has been delayed for over ten plus years, and just like last year is supposed to be released sometime this year. It's a wait and see issue. I do know that Sebastian Bach is supposed to be singing on three songs, if this album ever comes out.

Axl is a walking issue, so he'll release it when he feels right about doing so, or is on the correct meds.

Wasn't it Axl Rose that sang on 3 of Bach songs on his new album?

10+ years? Wow, I didn't think it was that long. I think it's going to sell millions of albums regardless of whenever it comes out.

Speaking of Bach, whatever happened to Skid Row?

Yep, Angel Down, and SeBas in a interview stated he did the same with Axl for Chinese Democracy . They are great friends, and both have mutual respect for each other.

Here's a couple songs from the album in case you haven't heard them yet.

Skid Row still tours but with a new lead singer, and his name escapes me. They had a few legal issues, but it's pretty much the same as the old G and R members, they both can play songs off the original bands catalogs.

I'm fairly certain that this album will never come out.

I used to think that it might eventually come out, but until it does...I've run out of hope for it.

I feel the same way since Axl doesn't seem to be able to surround himself with people he likes to get the album done. His ego is bigger and better then he makes himself out to be and still has the mentality that he is and will always be G & R.

I think their (Metallica) new release is expected in September.

Who gives a crap about G&R anymore? I have more of a chance of pole vaulting over the Empire State Building, without using my hands, than this album has of being released. Axl is all talk. Really ticks me off because that band could've been one of the best...EVER.

I think losing Izzy was a big blow to Gn'R. That was probably the begining of the end - well at least for the time being.

Also, I think Axl realizes that the future of the band depends entirely upon the success of this new album, which is why he wants to ensure that everything is 100% perfect. And unfortunately in his quest to achieve perfection, he has delayed the album by 10 years.

Yeppers, and I am pretty sure they have a release date too, unfortunately John Stamos collaborated on the album, and since they haven't put out anything worth while since "and Justice" I have a feeling it will suck as well. Metallica lost their edge when they released the black album, they sold out and lost many of their old school fans. Add the Napster issue in, and they crushed a good portion of their fan base.

That's great news. I didn't think it was this year.

Metallica hasn't done anything good since Cliff died. They lost their edge and became too commercial. I can't even imagine what levels they could've gone to had Mustaine stayed with the band. Dave is the man.

Yes but St. Anger is probably their heaviest album till date, and that was not very good either.

I actually liked the Black album very much. My favorite Metallica album is probably Ride the Lightning.

He has also distanced himself from a fan base that was willing to pay for anything related to G & R. In the long run his attitude and lack for caring for fans, will hurt the album sales as a whole. When G & R and Metallica toured together some years back, his attitude was so poor that people were walking out of the stadium when they finally took the stage to play. Waiting an hour after the prior band performed is uncalled for especially when there was no reason to do such a thing. Axl, is an egomaniac, and thinks he's bigger then the world.

Hetfield needs to take a page out of the Phil Anselmo (Pantera/Down) book and start hitting the sauce again. Metallica was MUCH better when he was drinking heavily.

I like "And Justice" but Cliff did help write some of the songs on that recording, but do agree with you, If Cliff was still alive I doubt they would be the sellouts they are now considered. As for Dave, I am glad he got fired if not we wouldn't have Megadeth.

I first thought St. Anger was absolute garbage, then I really sat down and listened to the album.

Compared to their other albums, it sucks, but compared to the rest of the music industry of the time the album was pretty good. The lyrics are pretty deep. I love The Unnamed Feeling, Sweet Amber, Frantic, All Within My Hands and Some Kind of Monster.

Still, Black Album, IMO was their best work. Wherever I May Roam may be the perfect rock song.

I have a CD with Metallica doing for wherever I may roam, without them even having the lyrics wrote. It is funny listening to, since James just sings, "na na na na" where the eventual lyrics will be. It's "a na na na na" except for the chorus.

Disagree. I'll go with Master of Puppets or Ride the Lightning as their best work.

Thats kinda how i felt about it.

With Metallica, since the black album they keep just adjusting their style of music to fit whats popular. Take that how you will, maybe its them selling out, and maybe its them just putting their stamp on something new.

When they made Load and Re-Load the grunge style was famous and they went with it, like Pearl Jam and Nirvana and the like.

When they made St. Anger, System of a Down and the like were doing their thing. They kinda just keep putting their stamp on it.

However...the more i listen to it, the more i dislike it, because Kirk Hammett has been the backbone of Metallica, he's what made them what they are, and by tuning down and not soloing, i think it ruined them.

Ive seen a couple youtube videos of "new" metallica songs...and they were terrrrrrrrrrrrible, im not even a little bit excited for their new album either. I agree with who said it...James shoulda stayed on the sauce. He's been bad ever since.

Speaking of James...

Why is is voice so different now than it was back in the 80's? If I didn't know better I'd swear it was a different singer.

IMO the best album is a tie b/w Kill Em All and Ride The Lightning. I have the tape with "Am I Evil?" on it before they took it off. That by far is my favorite song by them. RTL has another 2 of my fav's, "Fade to Black" and "Creeping Death"
Kill Em All - "Seek and Destroy". I didn't like the black album when it first came out but it grew on me. It has some very good tunes. I haven't bought anything since and now hate Metallica.

Never much of a Metallica fan but back in the day me and my dude would play Seek and Destroy in the locker room right before we ran out on the field for kickoff. Funny thing was I was the only white kid on the defense and he was the only white starter on offense and the first time we played it the black dudes thought we were crazy. Once the song got about half way through they were bouncing off the walls right along with us. We went out and put a whooping on West Tech and it became a tradition to play it right before kickoff.

By the time Chinese Democracy comes out, it will be classic rock.

While I was greatly disappointed by this album...I love the raw sound when they do it live. Something about the garage band feel to it.

Only good one with with board appropriate words in it...search The Unnamed Feeling for a better one, IMO. (but there's an F bomb in it)

By the time Chinese Democracy comes out, anyone 18-25 will think Axl Rose is a new and rising star.

By the time Chinese Democracy comes out, Kiss will be celebrating their 100th album, and possibly their 100th birthdays as well.

Why do I get the feeling that this thread could turn into a "By the time Chinese Democracy comes out..." joke in a "your momma's so fat" joke kinda way...
